Many indies are overrated. I guess this one as well it is. Inconsistent throughout its listen we can find great slices of great quality aor by numbers but mixed in a salad between some southern rock pieces as well. Great musicainship and production unlike many indies is quite good. For those who are looking for a southern blended aor I guess this will work; otherwise... it won't. Don't get me wrong its not bad at all and quite hard to find but to me not worth the 40/80$ it feches on ebay. |

Fans of John Cougar Mellecamp will love this or at least this is the sensation that Cody's music gives us.."Ripped Jeans" on its 2 versions are really cool ones!,"I Wanna Know" has an AOR flavour,a highlight song along with "Show Ya Love"..then "Lay It Back" is a goodie to enjoy and "The Good Ones" is a nice ballad..another one that is recommendable is "She's Goin' Away"...a pretty decent album if you are into this kind of rocky/aor tracks...86/100 |

Quite in agreement with Lancelot's comment.. in my opinion is not completely southern but it has some touches...i'd say this is more into the Rock'n'Roll side of the business and adding some AOR elememnts but i don't think Cody's music is meant directly to the AOR crowd..anyway is a matter of taste.. |

very good debut by JOHN CODY back in 89 and this is surely a grower!after a few spins you ll find out many good tunes and a certain mid 80 s vibe!i d say it reminds me of Rick Springfield!"i wanna know","the good ones","she s goin away" and "show ya love" are the best songs of this one and i suggest if ya find it you grab it instantly! |
