A great return for one of the best bands form the 80's: I simply love their "Law Of The Order" and this one isn't a disappointment at all: yes, is quite different, the type of album that needs different listens before growing on you... The class of Richard Black and Spencer Sercombe is well displayed by these songs, most of them are old demos with a totally different twist (more mellow approach, in other words), but the final result is stunning. The production is also great, so buy this one NOW!

This cd is ok it shows they have matured over the years with great song writing. Its different then there last cd's but this is a new generation, so sound has to change as well. the song that stuck out the most for me was blue skies.

Hmm the song "Down to the ground"... I've had it for some months or years even before... titled "To the ground"... Did they record it on any other album? Or maybe I downloaded it as some promo single from Melodic Rock.com? Dunno...

I believe all of these songs were all written for their 2nd CD. I've had the demos for pretty much every song here for a while, and it's great to hear them all re-recorded and released this way. I do have to admit, though, that I'm not really into most the songs here. It's a cool CD. 'Welcome goodbye' is a strong ballad, 'Looking for the sun' is a great mid-tempo rocker and overall there are a few cool tracks. Overall, though, I wouldn't exactly call this one great. Debut's MUCH better.

Altamente recomendado. ****************************www.myspace.com/lucasgordon

not sold on this one. i've heard that the law of the order cd wasn't really shark islands true still of music, that they played. which is a shame. since it is a cult classic. but oh well.

After more than 15 years the "sharks" got back again and release a follow up to their 1989 brilliant album "Law Of The Order",obviously time has passed and music direction too...this one is a pleasant album that perhaps can be a little flavourless at the beginning but it raises its temperature on the way...for me it is a recommended one..."Blue Skies"(nice & catchy opening),"The Stranger" and "Life Goes On" are very good tracks but definitely my faves are "Down To The Ground","Looking For The Sun"(AORish),"Heaven"(rocks)& "Temptation"(rocks too)...92/100

agree with others comments.this record have nothin in common with the extraordinary "law of the order".i know two songs "go west "and "down to the ground" cause in 1993 a friend in paris had given me a cd r of demo s of unrealised tracks of "law of the order".the sound was rotten but these songs was excellent and sound hard in the vein of "law of the order".here they sound a little different but stay the best songs of this record with track 9 "heaven".the advantage of this record is that the production is far better than on "law of the order" and this time we can hear to bass guitar of chris heilmann.i can add that track 1 is a cool beautiful song, track 10 a sumptuous ballad, but the others songs......are very laborious.too too soft for me and absoluty not catchy.what a big deception!!!i ll not give a mark to this album cause if i do that my mark will be bad , i ve too much respect for this exceptional band.

excellent release for SHARK ISLAND with old demos re recorded and a great come back for the band and the fans like me who bought their debut back in the day!their quality in songwriting and mussicianship is obvious ,even thogh there s less edge and things arent like before!"blue skies","the stranger","go west","down to the ground" are superb songs and the rest is remarkable stuff also!no need to say more a fine hair metal act is back
