"cant stop thinking", is my favorite song on this long forgotten album. This was a x-mass present for me. I was about 13 years old. Still got the lp. tomcat@dolfijn.nl

While everybody else was blasting Poison in 1988, THIS is what I was cruising to. Roxanne is the great lost classic of 80s rock. It just had the unfortunate fate of being on Scotti Brothers Records.

From: scott o Date: May 30, 2001 at 20:48
this recording was filled with killer harmonies and a really great guitar sound reminescent of queen when i saw these guys in the club mason jar in 89 they were awesome and very cool to hang with.

From: PeteWD Date: August 31, 2001 at 6:40
Nothing to Lose just has the best intro ever ...those Drums ...YES !!!!!!!

From: Rich Date: May 26, 2002 at 21:06
I just about wore out my tape of this in 88. Thank God I now have it on CD, so it won't wear out

From: Metal Man Date: October 9, 2002 at 16:58
This album is utter garbage. I gave to my brother-in-law when it came out, he was 13. He trashed after listening to it once and rightfully so.

From: Idiot Above Date: November 10, 2002 at 14:50
Metal Man has his head up his ass (or maybe up his brother-in-law's ass). Or, most likely they have their heads up each other's ass, cause that's what shitheads who don't know GREAT MUSIC do in their free time. A classic, beautiful, well written underrated album.

John Butler was in the band "Ghost Town"!!!

From: Chris I Date: January 1, 2003 at 23:24
I saw these guys many times, both at clubs and at parties. They rocked!

From: purrfect-kat Date: May 22, 2003 at 4:45
I like most of this cd but I don't know why they ever remade the song called "Play That Funky music" . . . It sucks and don't belong on this cd.

From: Dean Date: December 20, 2003 at 19:01
I had this tape and played the hell out of it. I think I've bid on this cd at least 20 times and someone has beat me every damn time. "Can't stop thinking" is easily one of my favorite mellow tunes of all time. Awesome all around.

Where can I find Guitar Tabs or sheet music, and what happen to the band members?

From: Chad Date: May 30, 2004 at 1:34
Great, great album! From the vocals to the guitar and the hard, driving drum beat! I still play this album all the time. Did this band ever make another album? How about any Jamie Brown solo stuff? All the songs rock on this album. Pick it up if you can find it. Highly recommended....

From: Matt Date: June 20, 2004 at 2:22
Great album. I found a Japanese release of Roxanne "Burning Through The Night" on cd. Does anyone no if this is the same band? Or if this is the same cd? If anybody has any information on this, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

From: Rick Date: June 25, 2004 at 13:13
Just started listening to this one recently and now I can't stop. The singer reminds me of Steven Tyler at times and the songs all rock. Nice disc, even the remake of "Play That Funky Music" is killer. Does anyone know if these guys ever released anything else??

From: Marla Date: August 9, 2004 at 22:32
I just love this one!! Listening to it again for the umpteenth time!!! "Stay With Me", "Cherry Bay", "Can't Stop Thinking" and "Play That Funky Music" .....oh hell.....just lovin' the whole thing!! GREAT stuff!!!!

From: Alessandro Date: August 26, 2004 at 11:30
one of the most underrated band of the AOR, great REcord!!!!!

From: Geoff Date: August 26, 2004 at 20:10
This is a great CD! I like quite a lot of the songs on here, especially 'Over you' and 'Stay with me'... but my favourite title has to be 'Cherry bay' - what a song! I also love the 'Funky music' remake. Very good CD!

From: Tonda Date: December 28, 2004 at 11:00
Geniální!!!

From: Cado Date: January 31, 2005 at 11:54
I blasted the hell out of this CD back in the day. Frightenly will admit I did their version of "Play that..." on kareokie at a party once and brought the house down. Saw them many times. Now those were good times.

From: Nick C Date: February 21, 2005 at 16:01
Matt - this is the same band indeed. Burning Through the Night is the Japanese version of the album with a couple of tracks dropped and a couple added. In fact I prefer Burning to this version slightly (probably as I had been after it for years and only grabbed a copy a couple of months ago). Excellent band though!

From: lucasgordon Date: July 9, 2006 at 18:25

From: lucasgordon Date: July 9, 2006 at 18:25
“Nothin’ to lose” y “Man in the moon”. Para mas info: www.perfectworldentertainment.com *****************************Lucas H Gordon

Good Hard Rock album, buen album sin mas y hablo de la edicion Japonesa el cual trae el tema del mismo nombre de titulo "Burning Through the Night" que es lo mejor junto a "Coming for You" 2 temazos de buen Hard Melodico, en cambio en esta edicion trae "Not the Same" una balada algo desabrida, adquiere la edicion Japonesa es la correcta la portada y orden de tracks es diferente tambien, veo que nadie se amimo a dar una puntuacion para mi 8/10 por esa edicion, esta edicion 7/10 lo justo.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: July 11, 2006 at 12:28
algunos exquisitos como Big Papa no le darian ni 6, pero bueno el trabajo que cuesta sacar un album y al tener algunos buenos temas hay que ser justos tambien.

From: chris510 Date: September 15, 2006 at 3:46
Roxanne is the shiznit! I saw them at Gazzaris! They were lively and they sure played some great tunes! I am especially biased to the remake of "Play That Funky Music"! If I could find the CD, I will get it and wear it down!

From: Henrykane Date: December 3, 2006 at 11:18
Wow!!. I've been growin' with this album; it's so charismatic! a sort of cult-LP for me. Imagine that Dokken and Aerosmith (Permanent Vacation-era) go to a L.A. party an' get crazy all night long. "Nothing To Lose" is one of the all-time classic songs of that era (88-89). MASTERPIECE (produced by Geoff Workman). 10/10.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: December 17, 2006 at 13:29
Not a bad album but also is not indespenseable."play that funky music"is a blast of a funny version from these guys.

From: YNGWIEVIKING Date: August 15, 2007 at 3:03
GREAT "CLASSY"80's AOR 81/100 good harmony B.VOCALS & guitar player Both JAP & US edit are great ! I think the cover it's OK , but if you wanna hear a huge version of that song you need to find the great SWEDISH band IT's ALIVE and his 1993 cd "earthquake vision" on MUSIC FOR NATIONS(cdmfn 177) the best FUNKY metal ever !

From: shark attack Date: September 23, 2007 at 12:15
Superb but sadly ignored release from `88. Roxanne managed to do the impossible and be part of the hard rock/hair metal brigade but sound original amongst a sea of clones with great vocals and guitar harmonies stamping their identity all over this disc. Classic cuts have to be the title track burning through the night, over you and stay with me.Highly recommended for a slightly different take on 80`s hard rock/hair metal. 70/100

From: altacet Date: March 3, 2008 at 14:41
This is NOT AOR this is HARD rock.

From: bullittsdad Date: July 19, 2008 at 15:48
Does anyone know where I might get some of these songs on mp3s?? I've been looking for this album for 20 yrs. Even most of my friends don't have the cassette anymore. Hope someone can help. Roxanne ROCKS!!

From: ludezu Date: December 19, 2008 at 12:25
I just received the "Krescendo Records" reissue of this record. Didn't have a clue what to expect. It blew me away. This band sounds like a mixture of Tesla, Aerosmith and Icon. Recommended for all the visitors of this website!

From: Kindred Date: January 1, 2009 at 15:04
One of my favorite CDs ever!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 24, 2010 at 21:01
I have to change my appreciation towards this album as i wrote back in 2006 that this album was not indispensable..well i was wrong!,after some other spins it turned out 2 be quite a goodie!...i have the 2 versions of the album (the american issue and the japanese)..the japanese version ommited the song "Play That Funky Music"(by the way ver catchy)..."My Way" is an excellent track,"Nothing To Lose" is a fave,"Stay With Me" is far the best,i've always liked this song,"Cherry Bay" has a nice groove,"Sweet Maria" is cool and "Can't Stop Thinking" is a nice song...try to find the missing tracks from each album(in here you are missing Burning Through The Night which is awesome)..good songs, good vocalist..what else do ya want?!...90/100

From: hair metal again Date: July 24, 2017 at 9:00
sensational hair metal release for ROXANNE back in 88 with a monsterous sound, excellent musicianship and many great songs !their sound is somewhere between TESLA,TORA TORA and FLAME and it s really strange how they didnt make an impact!all the songs are of the highest level and as a whole this one is very solid and will satisfy every hard rocker around!a must have
