WOW THIS IS A KILLER EP THIS IS THE BAND WITH THERE RAW SOUND IT SOUNDS GREAT- SWEET CHEATER- HAS THE DRIVE ALONG WITH AXE SMASHING U GOT IT TO AEROSMITHS SONG WALKIN THE DOG A MUST FOR A RATT AND ROLLER

From: T-BONE Date: August 18, 2001 at 12:00
Ratt in the Raw, before the over-produced albums of later years. This is one of their best, even if it is an EP. I think this had a better version of Back For More than Out Of The Cellar did. I like the extended intro. You think You're Tough rocks, Walkin The Dog has an awesome groove going on. This is a must have for any Rocker

From: richierocker Date: May 27, 2002 at 14:28
AWESOME ALBUM, LIKE T-BONE SAID, "RATT IN THE RAW" I WISH I COULD GET THIS CD CHEAPER SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN E-BAY. EVERY SONG IS AWESOME A MUST HAVE FOR ANY HAIR BAND FAN:

From: Jason Date: June 12, 2002 at 11:27
One of the best recordings Ratt ever did.

From: Jason Date: June 12, 2002 at 11:29
This could be a collector's item along with anything else Robbin Crosby played on. For those of you that don't know...Robbin Crosby was laid to rest recently (R.I.P)

From: RichieRocker Date: June 12, 2002 at 13:36
I agree jason. Sweet Cheater and you think your tough. great album

From: Federico Date: June 16, 2002 at 16:29
I am sorry for Robin Crosby(R.I.P.). This was is favorite Ratt's album. He was a very fine guitar player and He really look cool. I remember a very nice video of the song You think you're tough, with Juan Croucier that sing a part of this track.

From: RichieRocker Date: July 8, 2002 at 22:29
Whenever I play "You Think Your Tough" I feel like an animal, that song gets me going more than any song on this album, I love every song on this album but, "You Think Your Tough" is my favorite.

From: jarett r. Date: August 10, 2002 at 16:47
some copies of the ratt ep have an earlier version of "you're in trouble". all the copies have an earlier version of "back for more".

From: MATTMAN Date: August 26, 2002 at 1:28
It's so sleazy and nasty, that it will satisfy any rock fan. Very cool release.

From: B. CASARIN -MEX Date: August 28, 2002 at 23:34
hats off to robin crosby ,,, ratt forever !!!

From: Steve T Date: September 3, 2002 at 10:56
Walking The Dog......amazing cover of this song. You think you're tough is also great.

From: LilRockergirl Date: October 17, 2002 at 21:30
Hey you guys are right!Ratt does rock and i for one should know!!

From: Gar Date: June 27, 2003 at 2:27
Great debut! Nice n' dirty, the way RATT are meant to be. They should seriously re-issue this on cd with some of their other early songs/demos. Some early RATT material popped up on Stephen Pearcy's "Before & Laughter" cd.

From: Metal T Date: August 14, 2003 at 14:45
This EP is a true classic. This is RATT at their finest.Ten times better than anything MOTLEY ever did !!!--Get it.

From: TIM Date: August 14, 2003 at 17:07
Only half of it's worth hearing IMO.

From: TheRipper Date: August 15, 2003 at 1:56
Agreed, this is a classic release, and you just have to love Ratt and everything they did, as they got even better with time. I find that this band gets some unjust and unfair criticism within the 80's rock scene, which is puzzling since this is one of the most talented bands I can think of, ever, of all-time... Great musicians, and Pearcy is one of those guys that never seems to amaze me as time goes on, he continues to impress me til this day, truly a unique charater that Pearcy is!!!

From: TIM Date: August 15, 2003 at 16:17
I do love Ratt, just not everything they did was stellar. There are other albums they put forth I enjoy much more.

From: Blue Tequila Date: August 15, 2003 at 23:29
IMHO RATT peaked with Invasion of Your Privacy and slowly rolled down the hill for there. I never really cared for this when I had the tape but I'll still pick this up on CD the next time I see it now that it's been reissued due to the simple fact that I'm one of those "die-hard" fans. The way I look at it you gotta support the bands that kept you rocking back in the day!

From: RR-Finland Date: August 28, 2003 at 9:26
Very good Ratt stuff. Sweet Cheater goes like bullet with You Think You´re Tough.

From: JIFFI ENEMY Date: February 13, 2004 at 3:32
THIS WAS RATT WHEN THEY WERE HUNGRY, WHEN THEY WERE FRIENDS, WHEN THE ATTITUDES DIDN'T GET IN THE WAY OF MAKING GREAT MUSIC. WE WON'T FORGET YOU "KING"!!!

From: JIFFI ENEMY Date: February 13, 2004 at 3:34
ROBBIN "KING" CROSBY PLAYED A B.C.RICH WARLOCK ON THE E.P. DOES ANYONE HAVE PICS OF HIM WITH A WARLOCK?

From: MIKE S Date: May 5, 2004 at 10:44
MUCH heavier than any of their later material. Stripped down sound with no big dollar production, but some of us like it that way! 20+ years later, this is the only RATT release that still gets played on a regular basis in my stereo. Like lots of other bands, the 1st release is the best one & this is no exception IMO. Wish they could have retained this heavier sound instead of being turned into another commercialized mainstream statistic...

From: jack Date: May 18, 2004 at 6:21
I wonder is this album glam, hard rock or heavy metal cause it got all three of them put together. Oh well, they are combination of all which implies what a genius of a band i'm listening to.

From: jack Date: May 18, 2004 at 6:23
The only regret bout this album is it got only 6 songs. Don't get me wrong,i like all of them very much and all of them are 'top class'

From: Metal T Date: May 18, 2004 at 9:14
Yes jack--" It got all three of them put together ",and that may imply some kind of genious on their part .--------Cheerio Chap !

From: jack Date: May 25, 2004 at 3:32
whats Cheerio Chap?

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 22:54
"You think you're tough" blew me away when this came out. An excellent piece for any metal collection. 10/10.

From: headbanger4life Date: January 19, 2006 at 5:10
Finally got lucky enough to find a copy of this. Although half the songs were on their Ratt And Roll 8191 album, I wanted to have it for the rest of their classic material. This is Ratt at it's best, pure sleaze/glam/hard rock.

From: rockhardrock Date: March 23, 2007 at 9:28
i listen that one for a few times but i just dont like it.The albums they released after this one were much better. But thats only my opinion. The only 2 songs that i like from that one are:"u got it" and "back for more"(much better is out of the cellar version of that song).

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 1, 2007 at 16:56
Maybe rockhardrock the problem (If you can call this a problem) was that the sound of the band was rougher than in their long-lenght debut .If you listen to "Sweet Cheater" and "You Think You're Tough" (by far the best songs from the ep)you realize that the band was meant to be "big".Only for the 2 songs afordmentioned...10/10

From: shark attack Date: September 30, 2007 at 10:48
Out of the blocks with the slash and burn of `sweat cheater` this is a lean and mean RATT with no pretensions towards becoming the preening hard rock poster boys of later years, instead we get a metallic slab of gutter infused nastiness mixing muscle with melody and a heavy European influence making this as valid in Berlin or London as it is to Los Angeles (this ain`t no sunshine soaked ode to life but a grime infested howl from the wildside) 87/100

From: rick kerch vzla Date: October 1, 2007 at 10:40
There is an alternative version of this album (ep) with an aditional song (at least on vinyl).10/10

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 10:13
This is a good debut from Ratt

From: WookieEnthal Date: July 11, 2009 at 22:21
I love the raw feel of this CD. It may be their best effort...shame it's only 6 songs

From: edwithmj Date: April 23, 2010 at 21:57
I have the CD with Born on the Bayou and Nobody Rides for Free on it. You Think You're Tough is the stand out on this disc and the rest are solid tracks from Ratt. This is almost as good as their first two - and best - albums.

From: JAYBONE Date: May 26, 2010 at 15:26
Ive been a fan of Ratt since the mid 80s & this is still one of my favorites. So raw and heavy. Not a bad tune on here.

From: hair metal again Date: June 17, 2021 at 5:58
glorious start for the mighty RATT and a must have for every hard rocker!nuff said

From: Auslander Date: June 17, 2021 at 6:51
Very true HMA, but it is a hard CD to track down. Took me years and my disc may even be a bootleg, I have no idea. If you can't find the EP, you can get two songs on the excellent Ratt & Roll compilation (Tell the World and the best track You Think You're Tough). Sweet Cheater is the other essential track. Ratt redo Back For More on their first album. Grade A.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: June 17, 2021 at 12:59
Without Beau Hill, or the big budget that paid for him, Ratt sound a lot more raw and rough. Also, Warren DeMartini wasn't yet dominating on guitar, so Robbin Crosby's heavier, less polished style is more prevalent. I have nosjced that this EP is unavailable on Apple Music, although if you search for "You Think You're Tough" by title, you can find it on some compilation.
