This is one of the first great 80's metal albums!! From start to finish, this album is undeniably one of the greatest, EVER!!! Every metal freak must own this one!!!!

This was my first Ratt experience. My friend had Lack of Communication playing on the cassette player, and I dropped what I was doing to listen. I grabbed my guitar and picked up on the riff right away. I was an instant Ratt-addict. Robbin and Warren were my first Guitar-duo heroes. Ratt has a very definate sound to them aside from Stephens voice, probably the sleaziest sounding in rock. Robbin Crosby is suffering with HIV now and all my best goes out to him. Hang in there!

Truly sad news that Robin Crosby lost his long battle with AIDS yesterday, he was a great guitarist, this is a great album, and Ratt is a phenomenal group. Too bad Pearcy and Blotzer & DiMartini aren't together and don't get along, they could still kick some ass if they wanted to. Here's a big salute to the late Robin Crosby.

Let me put it this way, for all of those who think that you know Ratt: RATT began with 'Out Of The Cellar' & RATT ended with 'Detonator'. It's too bad the band's tensions caused them to break up in '92 as it would have been great to have heard the boys continue after their greatest hits bonus tune "Nobody Rides For Free" as that track showed a lot of promise for things to come. Let's face it: without the original five RATT-pack, it isn't RATT. God, I miss Robbin. Why? Why?

What do you mean, "Nobody Rides For Free" was a Bonus tune, Dokken6008?? You can also find that track on the "Point Break" soundtrack. I have it and it came out in 1991. Just in case you didn't know...............

Well, kind of. Take "Nobody Rides For Free" as a bonus track because...... Let's put it this way: not everyone plunks down fifteen or so dollars for a soundtrack with only one or two songs that they may be interested in. Also, j., I am aware of the Val Kilmer film with "NRFF" as the first tune on the soundtrack everything (never found a reason to buy it, though). Is there anything else worth buying that cd for?

This album is classic 80s rock! I feel like a lot of songs on this album didnt get the recognition they deserved like tracks 2,5,8,9,10. Round and Round speaks for itself and Lack of communication rocks hard. If you love 80s rock then I suggest you procure this album!!

Stephen Pearcy is a man of integrity and grit. His vocals ae drenched with the passion of a wretched whore. The songs are tight and the looseness of the flatulent drum kit and blast beats are phenomenal. Keep rocking its about time a band from 2000 and up put out and album this good, sounds like is from the 80's?

Hey WidoMakr and dokken6008...No problem. I misremember stuff, too. The Point Break soundtrack was good. In a addition to the Ratt song, NRFF...LA Guns' song Over the Edge is in it, too. Ratt and LA Guns actually toured together on the first Poison tour a few summers ago...which also included Great White...GREAT SHOW!!!!

Their 80s output was pretty much all good stuff, but this remains RATT's finest hour(or 35 minutes give or take). Solid songs, tight playing, and Pearcy's best vocal performance adds up to one can't miss disc.

Great twin-guitar attack of Demartini and Crosby,one of the few american bands to do the double-axe format well.This album is a classic piece of hard rock/metal history,without a doubt the EP and 'Out of the cellar' were their best-----Great Band !

this is the only ratt cd to get.even though i like songs from other cd's,they don't compare to this(except the e.p.)sorry guys.but i did see them on poison's 1st "glam fest" and i was very surprised that ratt kicked ass.it think the only original members were steven and bobby,but hey...still soild.word had it(from a reliable source) that bobby was-and probibly still is,a stuck up punk.he sucks anyway.warren is the meat & potatos of the band.

Very good album.Perhaps the best hard rock/metal album in the mid 80's. Very underrated album at the time. all songs on this album rocks with pure perfection,especially round and round which combines the playfulness of cheap trick and swaggering sound of aerosmith. Lots of people say ratt is glam or even sleaze or heavy metal. But Ratt in my opinion is combination of every one of those. If you listen to all their music,u'll know. Not many bands have that!

Their best album of their career. Not only are all the hits songs great, but the filler tunes such as "I'm Insane" and "The Morning After" are also strong. Essential 80's hard rock. 9/10

Tawny Kitaen is the woman on the cover of "Out of the Cellar". David Coverdale went "round and round" with her back in the 80's - so did major league pitcher Chuck Finley a couple years ago......in more ways than one! Too bad what happened with her and Chuck.

I love all the songs on this album but specialy THE MORNING AFTER. It was not a hit of the band but still a very very good song. Not much more to say, just an increible album that any hard rock/glam/melodic metal fan need to have in their collection(and not downloaded of course, downloading is for pussies. Realy man buy.

Speedy, lead-weighted and California'd to the max,The mighty Ratt. It blew EVERYONE away when it came out.9/10!!! Warren shreddin notes faster than Eddie ,almost.Eddie had more style and Passion,but Warren was close behind ,until Mr Scary passed them all with his slippery squeals and slides!! Man those were the days..Learnin the fiddle tryin to cop the newest licks and sounds..Gary Moore was there too.Love the Early West Coast sound..Or Brown Sound if you will.......

GREAT CD, ONLY ONE PROBLEM, STOP PLAYING JUST "ROUND AND ROUND," THERE ARE OTHER GOOD TUNES ON THIS CD. SUCH AS "WANTED MAN," "LACK OF COMMUNICATION," "BACK FOR MORE," "THE MORNING AFTER," TO NAME A FEW. ONE SONG THAT SHOULD'VE GOTTEN AIRPLAY BUT DIDN'T IS "SCENE OF THE CRIME!" GREAT Hard Rock, Yo tengo una Trilogia de grupos DOKKEN-LEPPARD-RATT para mi los mejores grupos de Hard Rock de los 80 claro con sus toques melodicos y por supuesto de AOR, porque eso es lo que hacen ellos, lo de Glam es solo por la pinta que tenian, porque ellos son HARD ROCK de lo mejor sin duda los 3 mejores grupos de esta movida para mi, ahora sobre este disco junto al siguiente sin duda lo mejor y si elijo uno de los 2 me quedo con los 2, simplemete porque no se pueden comparar, lo mismo

pasa con LEPPARD comparar el Pyromania con el Hysteria es dificil igual me quedo con los 2, eso tambien ocurre con DOKKEN comparar el Back for the Attack con el Tooth And Nail aunque aca si elija el primero por lo que marco en mi vida, e nombrado los 2 mejores albums de los 3 mejores grupos de Hard Rock de los 80 para mi, 6 discos que estan en la cima de la mayoria de amantes del mejor Rock por no decir todos, 6 discos SIMPLEMENTE IMPRESCINDIBLES EN CUALQUIER DISCOGRAFIA DE UN VERDADERO ROCKERO.

Este CD merece un 10 redondo y rotundo, lo tiene todo: melodía, riffs currados, solos sobrecogedores pero a la vez con sentimiento, un cantante cojonudo con una voz que crea estilo propio y estribillos pegadizos ahí donde los haya. Un consejo? compráoslo original.

Even though De Martini has been praised to no end (except by Frank Hannon, who said his style never vary), I've never been a fan of his playing. Probably why he got all the praise is because he always has this fragile look, quiet Guitar Hero aura (as can be seen on Jeff Beck and the clean-looking, long-haired George Harrison). One thing though, when he collaborates, its a killer. Proof: You're In Trouble. And in every RATT album, there are the Crosby songs that are always the best ones in them.

It's Ratt's finest hour in my humble opinion. Warren De Martini is praised as one of rock's greatest guitar players and if you want a proof, listen to this album. He knows the right chord for the right moment. He plays unusual chords and they sound perfect, just listen to Round And Round's chorus and you will know what I'm talking about.

This has always been special to me. Its the very 1st 80s hard rock tape that I bought. Before this, I've listen to Zep, Van Halen & discovered bands like Dokken, Dio & Loudness. Just imagine the guitarists that I've been exposed to before nitpicking the works of De Martini. Currently, I enjoy Lillian Axe and Timmons, so if I would compare Warren to them, IMHO we would be humbled. At best, he's as good as Hammet. But in Thrash, there was one who was "officially" announced as D Greatest, Skolnick.

Aqui coincido con Rafo en cuanto a los grupos pero yo agreria a Icon. Todo un clasico, que grandes temas. Stephen es verdad no tiene una gran voz pero se adapta perfectamente al grupo. Lastima lo de Warren, otro guitarrista que bajo su nivel de forma escandalosa, luego de ser considerado un digno sucesor de Eddie aunque creo que exageraban en esa epoca. Lo mismo le paso a Nuno de Extreme.

Not a filler to be found. "Round & Round", "Back For More" and "Wanted Man" make it worthwhile to begin with. Throw in "Lack Of Communication" and the rest and you have yourself a near perfect album. I agree "Scene Of The Crime" is truly underrated.

what an album clearly ratt's best i gotta say that when young pricks hang shit on glam rock i let them know that these bands can actually play better than the shit they listen 2 and this band was at the top of the tree in the '80's they were better musically than poison dokken and motley crue 2 every reviewer on here yeah scene of the crime is a great song but i also love you're in trouble and in ur direction and of course the famous one's on here if ur just discovering '80's metal than here is a great place 2 start simply awsome

A rare filler free disc here. There isn't one song I couldn't listen to on its own merit and every time I listen to it I appreciate it in a different way. My favourites are Wanted Man, Back For More, Round and Round, Scene of the Crime, Lack of Communication and You're in Trouble. The vocals, the guitars, bass and drums are top notch on this one.

Out Of The Cellar is my pick for best party-rock album of 1984. How could it not be, with those riffs? Those indelible, era-defining RIFFS!!! Of course, "Round And Round" is instantly recognizable from the first chord. Warren DeMartini was a shredder, but he somehow didn't sound like one of those fussy Berklee grads. Pearcy? Not a technically gifted singer, everyone admits that, but his voice perfectly fit the musice, whatever Beau Hill had to do in the studio to get him to sound that way. The lyrics have an almost stream-of-consciousness feel, where it's more important how they sound than what they're actually saying (because they aren't really saying anything). "Back For More" is another of the band's best-knownsongs, but I actually like "Scene Of The Crime," "She Wants Money" and especially "The Morning After" better. Regardless, there are no weak tracks here.

Good point about the lyrics Doghouse. I remember hearing someone saying in "Round and Round" Pearcy kept saying "I'll tell you why" but he never did tell us why, ever!
