One of my favorites albums!!From "You're in Love" to "Dangerous" is kick ass!! Listen or die!!

From: Andre Date: May 21, 2002 at 13:40
I gess this is one of their best selling albums, also shows the band at it's best!Robin realy lay down perfect riffs,on the other hand Warren do the fancy arrengements.Juan and Bobby, give the groove to Crosby riffing. And it matches!!Ratt definitely developed their own sounding.Listen to"Lay it Down",you'll see what I'm talking about!Pearcy very own rispy vocals somehow fits the band;like a raging rodent.Westcoast example of real 80's hard rock. Not Glam stupid webmasters

From: RichieRocker Date: May 31, 2002 at 20:59
This is the band at its best. Songs like Dangerous and worth the risk, know buy now, never use love and so much more. Every song is great, rock music at its finest. This album will really show you the Ratt sound and energy that some glam bands never had. I also think some of the songs on this album should have been on the greatest hits.

From: Kim Date: June 7, 2002 at 23:57
Just gave this one a spin. I had almost forgotten how good it is. Truely a great release. I didnt like all RATT releases, but this one I did and its a MUST for fans of 80`Rock`n Roll.

Former Ratt guitarist Robbin Crosby died yesterday in Los Angeles, after losing his long running battle with AIDS. The Official Ratt site is now paying tribute to their old guitarist.

I saw these guys on the Invasion of Your Privacy tour. Great stuff. Good, solid rock album from start to finish. You can't go wrong with this one.

a classic, a must have, does anybody knows how many videos they did from this album (i know of 2) nitrodoll1974@hotmail.com

From: Steve T Date: September 3, 2002 at 11:00
Awesome sound and tone to this album. One of the best 1-2-3 openings to an album I have ever heard.....loses it's way a bit after that though. Consistency was always Ratt's problem. Warren's leads are just HUGE.

From: Baris Date: September 10, 2002 at 8:16
Album name and cover are SUPER, so that the tracks. "You're In Love", "Lay It Down", "Closer To My Heart",...all are perfect. A RATT classic.

From: Blue Tequila Date: November 2, 2002 at 12:45
This has always been my favorite Ratt album. Every song is great. Beau Hill did an excellant job as usual. One of those albums you never get tired of listening to!

From: me Date: January 16, 2003 at 3:26
personally, I think this Ratt material is their best. Fair songwriting and catchy tunes. They're no RUSH when it comes to technical ability on their instruments(except maybe W. Demartini) or in their song arrangements, but who cares? it's a fun album and I still listen to it today!!

From: Great Dane Date: February 5, 2003 at 6:02
Good stuff, from an excellent band. Does anyone know what the members are up to now.??

From: vikingo666 Date: March 28, 2003 at 16:59
EL MEJOR DISCO DE RATT PERO TAMPOCO ES QUE SE SALGAN,EL ATRACTIVO DE ESTE GRUPO SON LAS GUITARRAS YA QUE LA VOZ DE PEARCY ES PENOSA.

From: alejandro Date: April 22, 2003 at 13:35

From: Zenari Date: May 25, 2003 at 18:51
Simply perfect! It's a real RATT classic, if you are a serious fan of HardRock you MUST have this album.

From: ace Date: June 3, 2003 at 3:06
de babe, de babe. no i'm not tattoo from fantasy island, but that hot number on the cover was my fantasy during my teenage years. onto the cd, this is ratt at their best i F'N love this disc it rocks big time.in my opinion warren demartini along with george lynch were the two most overlooked, and underated axe slingers ever. i love this band. ONE WORD CLASSIC. UP THE IRONS MATE.

From: freddy de keyze Date: June 7, 2003 at 8:37
Not exactly my fave stuff, but this is great, I have to admit. Well done, the best of Ratt ! It keeps you moving, this one !!!

The best! This is a great album, no bad songs here.

From: RR-Finland Date: August 28, 2003 at 9:19
This Ratt bites! Best release from these guys. My long time favourite and it can always suprise me if I haven´t listened a while. Stephens vox are so pure and full of energy. I didn´t know that Robbin was died in aids, rest in peace.

From: TheRipper Date: August 28, 2003 at 11:15
RR-Finland, for a second I thought you were cutting this one down opposed to their others, glad to see you werent. This is probably may favorite Ratt release, every song rips with some hidden classics here (many non-hits that were easily better than many of their big ones, well you get my point). Anything by this band is decent (at least in the 80's and early 90's, til Deonator) and hits or not, best album or not, these guys continue to amaze. Yeah too bad about Robbin, RIP, great group of guys.

From: RR-Finland Date: September 1, 2003 at 14:29
The Ripper! My english is not so good and this kind of misunderstandings might come sometimes... Anyway, I agree all you said above and Ratt did good job all the way to Detonator, bites or not!

awesome cd,ratt n roll at its finest.warren demartini is the man.the guitar solo on your in love gives me goosebumps.ive been to many concerts in my time but the invasion of your privacy tour was the most loud and clean sounding of them all.go out and get this cd.lets make metal #1 again instead of all this wimpy music.metal rules and so does RATT.

From: Metal T Date: January 15, 2004 at 14:26
Killer hard rock/metal from one of the best bands ever to come out. The Demartini and Crosby twin axe-attack was freaking brilliant. Seems all the truly great bands had it--Priest,Accept,Ratt,Whitesnake Mercyful Fate, etc.Pearcy' sounds great as well.Despite the negative things many of his peers, critics, and fans spew on him,Stephen is an awesome musician.Invasion' is another Ratt classic !

From: Rocktron Date: April 14, 2004 at 11:40
If you don't have this CD in your collection, please go and buy a copy now! Every song here is of excellent quality. One cannot find superlatives to describe this brilliant album. It is a timeless masterpiece which will go down in rock history as a classic work of art. Very classy guitar arrangements. Pearcy's vocals compliments the sound perfectly. The introduction to "Lay It Down" and the other RATT signature licks are probably in every guitarist's finger tips. 10/10. Rocktron from England.

From: MelodicBoy Date: April 24, 2004 at 21:38
A contender for one of the finest covers in the hair metal era, along with "Bareback" by Wild Horses and "Stick It To Ya" by Slaughter. As far as the music, one of the better Ratt CDs. The usual shredding by the underrated Warren DeMartini, and Pearcy's gravelly vocals are in top form. If you like Ratt, you should own this.

From: Jack Date: April 26, 2004 at 5:54
VERY GOOD album...my favourite is 'your in love'. LOTS OF PEOPLE SAY 'CLOSER TO MY HEART' IS A BALLAD BUT I THINK ITS FAR FROM IT. IN FACT, THEREIS NO BALLAD IN THIS ALBUM. ANYWAY, RATT IS NO GOOD AT BALLAD, NOT IN THE MOULD OF BOTH DOKKEN AND CINDEREELA.

From: Charvel man Date: May 17, 2004 at 18:13
I listed to this all the time as a kid. This is ratt's best besides 8191. The songs have cool riffs and I like that. Not to mention a great album cover!

From: Geoff Date: September 21, 2004 at 18:25
There's nothing bad I can say about any 80's releases from Ratt. This is good, solid filler-less hard rock. Awesome riffs, great simple songs and a great CD! My faves are 'What you give is what you get', 'Closer to my heart', 'You're in love'... and basically every track. Great hard rock CD!!!

From: run2u Date: November 7, 2004 at 6:22

From: Rycheage Date: November 7, 2004 at 11:30
Good, slick ratt n roll on tap here. "Lay It Down" and "You're In Love" are my favorites here but there is no filler. This is some of the slickest hair metal around. Ratt just got it right on this one. Recommended!!

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 23:02
Lay it down...Kin-A!!! Don't get me started on this one. A killer album from some of the best musicians ever! Ratt have never disappointed. If the girl on the cover were my teacher I would have stayed after school and tried to do better. 10/10.

From: Marc Date: December 26, 2004 at 12:58
I love this one. It is my favorite RATT album. Maybe a little bit poppy but the songs are really great. Hope they come back with something strong like this again.

From: keeper Date: February 23, 2005 at 6:23
This one stands high also. Can't forget first time i've heard 'You're in Love'. Absolute - a** kickin' hard rock. A must 9/10

From: gaz Date: March 3, 2005 at 10:15
yeah truly awesome and not forgetting the awesome underrated riff in "never use love! fantastic.

From: z4roxx Date: March 3, 2005 at 10:40
The girl on the cover is D.Coverdale's wife I think...

From: Muddley Date: March 3, 2005 at 14:28

From: CFL Date: March 3, 2005 at 17:27
The cover model is Marianne Gravatte, former Playboy Playmate of the year ('83?). Coverdale's now ex-wife, Tawny Kitaen, was on the Ratt EP & "Cellar" covers.

From: ghettonation73 Date: June 28, 2005 at 6:53

Me esperaba algo ams glam hard y no tan añejo y desgastado.

From: JF Date: May 16, 2006 at 19:21
Lay it Down me trae buenos recuerdos cuando recien empezaba a agarrar una guitarra.

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: June 1, 2006 at 23:50

If You Got to have just one Ratt album, this will be the one, The definitive Ratt album, no matter what other says. The only thing that I hate about it is the claps on "You Should Know By Know". I love the cover, I own the Lp too, the bigger the better ! Ratt And Roll Or Pay The Toll! Aguante Argentina

From: juan carlos Date: January 9, 2007 at 16:41

From: rockhardrock Date: March 23, 2007 at 9:20
this one is their 2nd best album(#1-Out of the cellar). It starts with great fast rocker"you re in love"and ends with great rocking hooks sing-a-long song"dangerous but worth the risk"(i love that song!!!).The song"lay it down" is superb and very heavy(but its not as fast as you re in love).Other great rockers that should have become bigger:"never use love"and"you should know by now".The song that i dont like very much "closer to my heart"(their greatest ballad-Givin yourself away-from Detonator)

From: Rycheage Date: August 26, 2007 at 10:13
Not as perfect as "Out Of The Cellar" but close. "Lay It Down" and "You're In Love" have that trademark Ratt sound and even the "filler" material would be hits on any other band's album.

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 10:01
This is another beauty for Ratt, should have made them big around the world.

From: BIG-TIME Date: February 20, 2008 at 16:28
"Never Use Love" sounds like an OZZY track hmmm maybe thats just me? Much prefer this than "Out Of The Celler" better tracks more hooks and just better song's...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

From: peter neal Date: April 5, 2008 at 10:24
Their best album, in my opinion. Even Ozzy tried to copy their sound in "The Ultimate Sin".

From: Buitre Date: January 24, 2009 at 8:58

Excellent Melodic Hard Rock for me,a classic with the mighty Out of the cellar, killer riffs and great solos by the guitar god Warren de Martini, songs like:You´re in love,Lay it down,Give it all,What you give..will take you to the xtc,the best album from RATT,80´s hard rock, the best of the world, a wet dream for anyone who likes real rock

From: lalo r.o.c.k. Date: April 20, 2009 at 23:22
Ah!,by the way, saw them live here in Lima,a dream come true...

The riff on Lay It Down may be one of the best ever. Another great CD by a great band.

From: pie75 Date: August 5, 2010 at 0:58
though not as good as out of the cellar but a fine follow up with songs like your in love, never use love, lay it down, closer to my heart, dangerous but worth the risk and you should know by now

From: edwithmj Date: December 6, 2011 at 11:34
Definitely their best and my favourite. Ratt took what made their debut great and added a little extra. In my opinion this starts off weakly with You're In Love but quickly picks up with Never Use Love, Lay It Down, Closer To My Heart, Between The Eyes, Got Me On The Line, You Should Know By Now (my favourite) and Dangerous But Worth The Risk. No filler whatsoever.

From: hair metal again Date: January 25, 2012 at 9:55
hard rock masterpiece by RATT!excellent polished production by the mighty Beau Hill ,perfect commercial hard rock sound, catchy songwriting, huge riffs and INVASION OF YOUR PRIVACY becomes a classic of the 80 s and it helped the LA scene explosion !

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 31, 2012 at 20:46
Wow such times...when music was pure magic...this album couldn't "escape" of the "enchantment" of that decade...the 80's!!!...the band led by Pearcy was becoming HUGE at least in the States..."You're In Love" is such an anthem,"Never Use Love","Lay It Down"(rocks!),"What You Give Is What You Get" & "You Should Know By Now" are awesome California 80's style songs...recommended...87/100

From: vanitybinge Date: January 9, 2013 at 19:52
It's better than Reach for the Sky but not as good as the other 80s RATT albums.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 8, 2018 at 23:26
A long time ago, I read some rock critic saying Ratt's music "lacked emotional depth." At the time I dismissed as some pseudointellectual who just didn't like '80's hard rock. But you know ... he was kinda right. Ratt's songs aren't really "about" anything. The lyrics seem to be little more than random stuff to sing over the music--they're almost meaningless, except that they all seem to be about extremely casual sex, if not outright prostitution. They're just the barest sketches, so you can't really tell. But man--the sound! That SOUND! Ratt are, of course, one of the quintessential metal bands of the mid-'80's, and one thing that sets them apart from generic, goofy party-boys like King Kobra or Black 'n Blue, is that Ratt songs tend to convey a real sense of menace and danger. The riffs have a nastiness that a lot of other bands' riffs lacked, and, say what you want about Pearcy's vocals, his dirty rasp and matter-of-fact, almost deadpan delivery suits the music perfectly.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 8, 2018 at 23:33
Invasion has its champions who put it agove Out Of The Cellar as their favorite Ratt album. I'm not sure. The earlier album has more indelible hits, but Invasion is a little bit heavier and darker, owing to the use of drop-tuning on the guitars. Highlights are abundant, including the singles "Lay It DOwn" and 'You're In Love," plus "Closer To my Heart," 'You Should Know By Now" and top deep cut "Dangerous But Worth The Risk." Really, I consider Out Of The Cellar and Invasion of Your Privacy to be fraternal twins.
