Gonna disagree here. This album marked somewhat of a departure for the band, featuring cleaner production and heavier use of keyboards than on prior efforts. It may not have a plethora of hits since it came as their popularity was waning, but it's a solid album, probably my favorite QR album as a whole.

A true mixed bag from the once "mighty" QR. Though I would have liked to Love this one, it's just not all here. Half the songs are fair & the rest is filler. The production is weak, Proffer thought he'd luck out a third time out with QR, he didn't. Sarzo was gone, though Wright is a great bassist, it wasn't good chemistry.... Pick up the first two discs or the BEST of compilation .... 6.5 on the SWINE scale.

Have to agree with Dan, the key work great and the album is clean and strong. Not good for the knid of public they are used to move in that time, but great for those who realy love this music.

I actually liked this cd. It's a little heavy on the keyboards, but all in all it's worth getting. If Kevin would have kept his mouth shut all those years and not pissed all the other bands off...they would have lasted longer. This was the last good QR CD. All the rest after this one are very weak on the song content and even worse on the musical side of the spectrum.

Whe are they now??!?!?! They offended Motley Crue saying they wouldn't sell a record at the Shout at the Devil time....ahahahah ....well, the Crue then became the most influential glam sleazy band of the eightes ....and this bunch of suckers?!?!! where are they?!?!? ahahaha

Hmmm... either this album or the one that follows is the band's worst. These songs are drowned in saccharine keyboards, and consequently have almost no punch whatsoever. Tracks 3 and 7 are appalling muzak numbers. 2 and 6 are great songs, but the rest is mediocre at best. What happened??? This is nowhere near as good as the previous two albums. As to where they are now, they're still churning out albums, although nothing terribly remarkable.

They have done 2 cd's after Down to the Bone in 1996 called Alive & Well in 1999 and one last year called Guilty Pleasures. Alive & Well has new versions of some of their classic material. Both cd's are nothing to get exited about, but they still have the QR sound. The song writing has pretty much gone to shit and all the songs sound alike. Carlos Cavazo is still an awesome guitar player. I saw them live 3 times in the last 3 years and the guy still shreds like he used to.

I heard them about 3 years ago Reno when they were warming up for Dokken. They kicked Dokken's ass. So did Slaughter. As you may know, Lynch wasn't there and Don's vocals were really strained or lost completely. Anyways, Quite Riot was awesome in every department because their original crew was there.

I saw them when they were on the Rock Never Stops tour with Slaughter and Warrant. Quiet Riot kicked ass and the band was very kool ( I've met them 4 times) I also got the chance to talk with Slaughter's new guitarist Jeff Bland. He's an incredible guitarist also. The disappointment of the night was Warrant. Jani fucked up their best songs with his wannabe hard ass attitude. Half the crowd was leaving by the 5-6th song they did. At least QR and Slaughter stuck to their guns.

I also saw Dokken with Great White about 2 years ago. Reb Beach sounded great, but Don wanted to tell stories rather than play. They did about 8 songs in an hour and a half set. Pretty shitty!!! Don did sound like shit too. Great White was very good. I got to meet Mark Kendall and bullshit with him on the tour bus. He has an awesome personality and sense of humor. Too bad their done.(for now?)

John Norum was playing when I was there. I wasn't too impressed. I think the tour was called "Boom Blast" or something like that. It was Slaughter, Quiet Riot, Warrant, some no name, and Dokken. L.A. Guns had cancelled. Warrant sucked pretty bad. Jani got up there and talked about censorship and said "Fuck You" to the critics, blah, blah, etc.. I remember how hot it was too- damn hot!!!

Around the time METAL HEALTH came out, Kevin DuBrow stated in an interview that Quiet Riot would never use keyboards in their music. Funny how just 3 years later they release an album chock full of keyboards. It took me a while to like this one. It's not great, but there are enough decent songs on it to make up for the cheesy ones.

For nostalgia reasons I still listen to this album every once in a while. Sounds like QR had NO direction and couldn't decide if they were a metal,pop,hard rock, or AOR band. So in trying to throw everything in the pot they come across as disjointed and confused. Frankie's drums are always outstanding of course but it always amazes me how when a band is in turmoil their albums more often than not reflect that in the grooves. "Wild & The Young" I love live though, way heavier than the studio.

I obtained this cd used at Newbury Comics north of Boston. I put in the Cd and couldnt stand it i drove to another Newbury Comics 20 minutes away and sold it. I was terribly dissapointed in this recording, too many keyboards, and the vibe that the 2 albums previously had was no where to be found.

It took me a couple of listens, but I finally got into it. After listening to it again after all these years, I really like it. It seems to run right into Terrified and Down To The Bone.

This cd is a little different from the rest, a lot of keyboards on it, but i like it. It still sounds Quiet Riot, and there are some great tunes here. I love Twilight Hotel, it's a great song!

First CD that I ever owned. Some very good tunes on it. If you like the 80's rock with some very good production, check this one out. Asshole or not, Dubrow can sing and Cavazo can shred. Frankie Banali is the most underated drummer in rock.

This was the band's first LP I ever listened to, and maybe that's why I like it so much. I particularly enjoy "The Wild & The Young" and "Slave to Love", though I recognize that "Metal Health" and "Condition Critical" are heavier, much better albums.

This was the departure from the signature spot on Quiet riot sound. Keyboards can sometimes ruin the intention if not done right. In this case the ivories overrode the already established sound. Not too many bands could mix keyboards very good and this one was a lesson in what not to do.

Es el mismo caso q lo q supuso el 2º disco de K.Kobra o "Down For The Count" de Y&T si comparamos estos discos con lo anterior q habian hecho hasta entonces,su música adquiere un sentido mucho mas melódico o armonioso puesto q los teclados adquieren gran relevancia en buena parte del disco.Temas como "Main Attraction","Twilight Hotel" o la gloriosa "Slave To Love"(S.Bush la llamó "Blinded" en su maxi "Forever")son buena prueba del coqueteo q mantuvieron en este disco Quiet Riot con el AOR.7/10

Excellent QR release. The addition of keys here makes this a winner! A shame the band with Dubrow were on the outs, the next cd is actually pretty good too without that big mouth.

More keyboard orientated and less "heavy" than their previews ones but still very but very very enjoyable indeed!!!,"The Wild...","Main...","Twilight Hotel" (beautiful song),"Slave To Love","Down And..." and the amazing bass solo by Mr Wright "Bass case" are classic among classics.Shamely (4 some) the band played the "american formula" i mean,"hit songs" perhaps because the media and the record label wanted them to be among the best bands around that time wich was ok,why not?,and honestly this band deserved 2 be recognized among the best.95/100

this is a very good cd ,i think it s their best with kevin on vocs.it has their classic sound but there comes the keyboards and some melodic tunes and the result is enjoyable.i think that "main attraction","twilight hotel","still of the night" and "slave to love" are fantastic songs.overall good album but their next one with paul shortino remains their best

this is where this band changed their style to more pop metal.well maybe the record company wanted this, I don't know. some songs here are quite good like: mane attraction, the wild and the young, twilight hotel and still of the night but the others are just way to simple and didn't drag my attention.

Back in 86 I remember listening to this with a friend and at the time I didn't care for it much. Flash forward to 2001 and I gave it another chance. Wow, what a great album! Yes its different with all the added keyboards but it's still got a lot of good songs. I still listen to this one quite a bit along with Guilty Pleasures and the rest of their albums.

The co-written Slave To Love, all melody by Stan Bush (compare with his song Blinded), is probably the highlight. Unfortunately, almost all songs written by only the band, are again way below average, and no surprise this album tanked. Three first songs are fine, plus Slave To Love, the rest 6-7 songs are hideous to be honest. You can't have this many fillers if you want to maintain a career in a competitive environment, it's impossible!
