this album would have been better if John Elefante had been lead singer throughout. As it was, was about a 6 on a scale of 10.

Mastedon's two Albums are excellent. They have all the drive & beat, without the thrash! Mastedon's sound makes Stryper sound like amateurs. ROCK! for the KING!

LO MEJOR. INSUPERABLE. LO TIENE TODO. PRODUCCION MAGNIFICA, ENORMES COMPOSICIONES, ARREGLOS PERFECTOS, ES ELEGANTE, POTENTE Y CUIDADO A LA VEZ. EL DISCO QUE ME LLEVARIA A UNA ISLA DESIERTA. THE MASTERPIECE!! ESTA INFRAVALORADO, PORQUE OBJETIVAMENTE MUY POCOS DISCOS OFRECEN LA CALIDAD DE ESTE. OBRA MAESTRA DE OBRAS MAESTRAS.

Come on ya'll let's get behind John and Dino Elefante and let them know we want them to follow-through with the Mastedon project John talks about on his web site http://progrock.org/elefante/index2.html. Any Kansas influence will be welcomed by this classic rocker. Keep Christ in Christian Rock Music! <

I dont think its the not enough John Elefante as it is the not enough Mastedon albums. I think everyone who sang in Mastedon was great and yes John Elefante was the best. But, they should have made at least a few more albums just like the other two. I know if the Elefantes made another album together i would never stop thanking them. Mr.Elefante you've got some work to do buddy, make some Mastedon!

Three standout tracks for me: 'People Of This Time', which harks back to 'Drastic Measures' era Kansas, the gorgeous melodies and rich chorus of 'It Is Done', and not forgetting the brilliant 'Life On The Line', surging anthemic hard rock complete with melodic guitar riffs and keyboard runs. 'When It All Comes Down' moves along at a good clip, and has a great hummable chorus. 'Thief In The Night' sees the assembled cast perform what could be a tribute to Toto, such is the similarity.

Great pompy stuff indeed. Glad that a lot of people see this. There was a rumour that a new Mastedon CD was in the pipeline, but no sign of it at all. Is there someone out there knowing more ? Powerfull stuff !

It has always been amazing to me, both when in and now out of 'Christian Music'. I now do not claim to be a Christian at all and judge the music purely on the merit of the sound and talent of the players. As it should be. (for you Christian my change is simular to Leslie AKA Sam Phillips) Anyway the Skill is great and the compositition is soild. Taking some of the most dificult words to sings and making them sound like they were made for music is a talent the Elefante brothers are great it that.

I really like 'When it all comes down' and I hate to say it, but that's about it for me. Decent elsewhere, I guess, just not my ideal cup of tea.

John and Dino, on top of being really nice guys, are some of the better AOR producers (they produced my husbands album, too) and artists bar none. This particular project is a good example of taking their passion for Christ and the message of the gospel and turning it into a exemplary collection of REALLY KILLER TUNES TO CRANK UP IN THE VAN WHEN THE KIDS ARE NOT THERE! My personal favs - It Is Done & Run To The Water... I own it (or Mark does, anyway - what's his is mine!). A definite 10

When metal and hard rock swept the nation in the early 80s to the mid 90s, it even caused a stir in the contemporary Christian music scene. The old school bands like Petra and Whiteheart ratcheted things up a little heavier, but what was wonderful was seeing truly unique bands like Mastedon, Whitecross, Bloodgood, Barren Cross, and, of course, Stryper erupt out of nowhere onto the metal scene. That being said, "Lofcaudio" is Mastedon's second cd, originally released in 1990 I AM SELLING MY COLECTION THAT I INCLUDE THESE GREAT ALBUMS. if you are interested on purchase these cds come to join me to ( http://christianmusic-musiconsale.blogspot.com/ )

This is another of the smooth 80's melodic rock productions from the brothers Elephante. Massive, fullscale AOR with lovely melodies, harmonies and layered sound. This disc features a host of guest artists including guitarists Bob Carlisle (Petra) and Tony Palacios (Guardian). The vocals are performed by a variety of singers including Dave Amato, Tom Bowes, Dean Longacre and John Elefante. Of the vocalists John is my favorite and I sort of wish he would have just sang on the entire disc. Fans of KANSAS will love this CD.

A little smoother and more polished than the grittier debut, but still rocks--very melodically--in all the right places. You can never scoff at anything the Elefante brothers produce...those boys know how to buff the sonic edges, that's for sure. Another Chrisian rock classic designed to be cranked.

I think this actually may be my favourite album of all. Not sure. But I certainly return to it a lot every year. Because I have played my original cd so much I decided to get the recent gold disc remaster. Remastered by Elefante I knew he would respect tge original sonic. And he sure did! There literally are no poor tracks on this album, but we all have favourites and mine are the crushing Holiest One opener, Living for You ballad, riff-tastic People Of This Time, and most of all the AOR perfection of Life on the Line. This is an A+ album, made even better by a gold disc imprint and remaster, so A++!
