|I absolutely love this new disc. All of the traditional Stryper elements are present on this. The vocal harmonies, the lead solos, that world famous voice that Michael Sweet has....and, most important to me, the guitar tone just rips. The songs are tremendous with just a hint of modern "feel" in some of the drums and guitar. I liked Re-Born, I LOVE this one. 90/100

|This is the ultimate comeback of Stryper! This is their true 'Reborn' and not that one 4 years ago...Top notch arrangements & production, smoking guitars and the voice of Michael Sweet in a great condition!!! One of the winners of 2009 without a shadow of a doubt.

|Maybe I am the worst enemy about reunions and this worths also for the religious ones(ahahaha).I am surprised:why the previous one was terrible and modern(awful)and this one not?Maybe because modern hard rock doesn't interest to anyone????

|I know I've already commented on this disc but I just wanted to share this with all of you. Outside of the Loverboy disc, I believe this is the best music from any of the 80's musicians or bands. As a musician myself, I can't tell you how much time it takes to make a disc that has this many layers of vocals and guitar tracks. I've had it for the better part of a month and can't stop playing it from start to finish. Fantastic effort.

|I have to send in rock reinforcements for Axe Slinger. Every band has it's prime and many that peaked in the 80's never reclaim the past. Stryper is the exception with this release. I wasn't thrilled about 'Reborn' but I would give 'M-B-P' the edge over 'Against the Law' and in their top 3 releases. Stand out tracks 'MBP' '4 Leaf Clover' 'I Believe' get better with every spin. It's funny that the usually suspects on this site make comments on Christian bands(Guardian,The Brave, ect.) that have to make a excuse why they listen to them. Do you see any reviews of bands with Satanic overtones with reviews along the lines of "I'm usually not into Satanism but I make a exception on this one"? You have to give Stryper credit for doing what they believed in as they took heat from the Left(media, bands) and the far right(Jimmy Swaggart, ect.) They headlined Rocklahoma 7/11/09 and Michael Sweet was a bit somber as his wife recently passed away.(live clip) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK8G3I4090g

|First of all i'd like to express my deepest condolences to all the Sweet family especially to Mr Michael after the saddest lost of his beloved wife Kyle..may God have her covered in his arms..may she rest in peace forever...now about the album...great come back..but do not expect anything so "metal",this is a fine Rock album,"Eclipse Of The Sun" is a wonderful starter with a marvellous and catchy chorus,"Alive" beautiful and emotive,"I Believe" excellent...anyway music lovers will be delighted by this release!!!.95/100

|I was holding of on reviewing this one for to see if it would grow on me over time. Admittedly I am a Stryper fan from the beginning…that being said I struggle with giving this album a high rating. It has too many inconsistencies. There are several very good songs on the album, but much the music sounds a bit dated overall. All in all unless you are a true Stryper fan I am not sure that this would be a must have disc of theirs. That said I am attending their concert in Chi-town Oct 4 for old times sake. 78/100

|Its good that stryper are back to their roots! Far better than the very bad "reborn" album....with this album stryper are reborn!!:-)

|Ok, I loved Reborn, and thought it was a complete monster of an album, and it actually ran my favourite Stryper album close for the top spot (that'll be Against the law in case anyone cares), but it just couldnt quite overhaul it. This one though is a different beast to Reborn. It certainly is a return to their roots of sorts, but not the early stuff. For me, it sits somewhere in between In god we trust and Against the law, being slightly heavier than IGWT but not as heavy as ATL. Like Reborn, the album actually hooked me on first spin, with so many songs sticking in my head straight away. So where does it fit in my list of face Stryper albums? I'd have to say its probably number 3 on the list, so once again, its a damn fine rock album (please note that I said "Rock album" not "Christian Rock album").

|BTW, I couldnt be bothered waiting for the Euro release of this, so imported the US version on 3 Chord Records, which is missing the bonus track 'My Love, My Life, My Flame'. It isnt actually a Stryper track, its a Michael Sweet solo song, and is also on his solo album Touched if anyone feels like tracking it down.

|Great album the second half is a bit weaker but all in all a very strong release.

|I hate to scourge one of my all-time favorite oldschool Christian rock/metal bands, but while this album is certainly solid, it's a long way from being great. The potential was definitely there--I would slaughter a nun to have a whole album full of songs like "4 Leaf Clover," "Murder by Pride," & "Mercy Over Blame"--but too much time was spent trying to appease fans by sounding retro (which they succeeded at doing) and not enough time spent on crafting knock-out hooks for all tracks, resulting in a high quantity of filler-quality material. That said, this easily gets a passing grade based solely on the delicious guitar licks and patented layered harmonies that pop up all over the place on this puppy. I'm proud to say I'm a Stryper fan and this CD does nothing to alter that, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hoping for something a bit more special.

|Another Stryper album packed full of highlights, quality and class. Those who still can't set aside their pre-conceptions about this band are surely missing out big-time. Best moments are the opener Eclipse of the Son, a spikey, almost punkily played rouser which reminds me of The Dictators at their best. 4 Leaf Clover is simply terrific with an oh-so-classy riff, and Murder With Pride is another highlight. The whole album is beautifully performed and of course, Michael Sweet's distinctive vocals are uniformly excellent. I'm so glad I gave this band a try ten or so years ago. They have since given me countless hours of musical pleasure for which I thank them very much!

|This album was a surprise! I knew Stryper were good back in the day but this new album rocks. Just goes to show that some 80's bands are still capable of making good music on par with their classic material.
