| I bought this album in 1989 when "Love Cries" was first released. Even after 11 years, it's the CD I continue to reach for every week. Everybody's tastes are different, but my own opinion is that this is a solid piece of Rock. It's just a solid effort of crisp, rhythmic tunes from beginning to end - you won't be disappointed.

It's the best example of what scandinavian melodic rock is all about!This band is somewhere between Europe and Brian Adams!Very atmospheric tunes,but without loosing it's rocking vein!Very simple songs,with great arrengements!What makes we notice the gift of a great production!Chemestry on this effort,makes you never feel tired of it!Three guys,simple,cativating songs,that is what it is all about!95/10! !I say,the intrincic keyboards is also an important tool in this record!!!!

| What's the buzz all about. This is nothing special at all. An average record by an average band. There are so many better records out like Bad English, Drive SHe Said, Signal, Captive HEart, I-Ten, Van Stephenson, Boulevard Shooting Star etc. etc.

Freddy, this album is better than average. Stage Dolls is a band in the same league as the ones you mentionned. This self-titled release is a MUST-HAVE for any self-respectable AOR/melodoc rock fan. ESSENTIAL ! BUY !

| This band has very unique and original sound....personally i don't know any bands with this sound.....I think this album is most comsistent and far the best by this band. The rest has some fillers, this hasn't.Best song Still In Love, Lorraine,Love Cries.... BTW video of Still In Love was shooted in New York....with WTC in perspective

| Can't help but sometimes I think it's a good one, some other time I just find the CD boring. To be honest, I mainly think it's quite boring. I guess the later things are more exciting, I listened to Sorry (is all I can say) it's a nice ballad. So I don't know if it's worthwhile now to buy the new Best of combilation yes -or no..??

Buenísimo disco AOR,englobado habitualmente entre los álbumes emblemáticos del scandi-rock,o hard escandinavo.Grandes teclados y melodías,sin duda el trabajo mejor "compensado" de la banda y el que más triunfó en USA...alguien recuerda el clip de "Still in love"que censuró la MTV?A lo que interesa:AOR INMENSO,y muy original incluso dentro del estilo.No entiendo como el amigo Robert les da un 6'5 Para mí es ESENCIAL,sin desperdicio.Toneladas de sentimiento y calitè...9/10! run2u69@hotmail.com

| This is excellent stuff, and although their more recent stuff is harder hitting and bigger sounding, this was the most AOR sounding of their releases. If you like Evenrude's "One Size Fits All" then I don't see why you wouldn't like this.

| After hearing 'Love cries' on a Hard n' Heavy video I needed this album. It took me a while, but eventually I tracked it down. I remember being initially disappointed at how soft it is, but eventually the excellent songs took over. 'Love cries' is my favourite, and such a perfect melodic riff, 'Still in love', the excellent 'Waiting for you', 'Lorraine' and 'Hanoi Waters' are faves too, but there are certainly no fillers here. Killer AOR CD!

| hi-from COSTARICA.tremendo disco se jalaron estos A-HA ROCKEROS.muy bueno ,muy completo y demasiado dificil de conseguir en mi pais.esto viene desde NORUEGA Y LA VERDAD ME QUEDE COMO LOCO cuando lo consegui 15años despues.y aun asi suena tan fresco y tan vivo como cuando salio.sin duda una gran joya dentro del rock melodico.y este grupo no es una mediania que logran truinfar con una compañia discografica rica.ello aprendieron a tocar a base de sufrimiento y musicalmente son muy convincentes

| un disco muy dispensable y essencial en cualquier coleccion que aun asi muchos ni conocen y deberian tener.no hay que perderse STILL IN LOVE-LORRAINE-WINGS OF STEEL y su tema estrella LOVE CRIES.es decir todas aunque el album es un poco corto pero muy intenso.le doy=10 al album-10 alas canciones-9.4 por la duracion-10 a BJORN NESSJOE por la produccion tan buena que hizo al igual que con los reyes el super grupo TNT.-10 por la tapa-10 a mi por tenerlo.y tu tendras 10 si los consigues tambien.

| Sorry guys, but I have to agree with freddydekeyzer on this one, all the bands he says are indeed better; I'm not saying it's bad, but for a keys-oriented AOR fan like me, this one works a bit less. | fairly new to this band(after the great new cd) and found this one, this is a great lighter melodic/aor album, Love Cries must be the best song of the band, a killer, other great ones are Waitin for you, Still in love, Wings, Lorraine. Such a shame that us from the States had to wait so long to hear this band!!!! now to go seek out more SDolls music!!!

| Stage Dolls' best album to date!! A perfect 100 out of 100 if you ask me! Only nine tracks, but classic songs nevertheless all of them, including one of the best AOR-songs ever in Love cries. This album has it all, huge choruses, great musicianship, fantastic singing by Torstein, and top notch production. This cd should have sold millions had they only had a bit more luck! Best rock cd ever from Norway I'd say, even better than Tell no tales!!

| Un clasico oculto y poco conocido. Todos los temas parejos pero la mejor del disco es sin duda "lorraine" una gozada el escucharlo. Despues estan "love cries" "wings of steel" y "don´t stop believin´". Encanta por ese sonido y teclados mágicos. El cantante cumple de cara al album pero no es para nada alucinante su voz. Llega a clasico por ser un disco parejo, al menos en mi humilde opinion 9/10

| Otra delicioso disco AOR escandinavo con temas hechos para romper a la primera, y claro comerciales hasta decir basta pero con el feelin y la calidad suficiente como para no pensarlo demasiado "Wings of Steel" y "Love Cries" inmensos, todo el disco es un festin 9.1/10

Revising my old collection of vynils i ran into this jewel that i did not have the change to comment in here...to only mention the hit single "Love Cries" was not worth it(i say this because i also have a 7 inch single of the track and this was the one i've spinned more because is at hand)anyway what can i tell u about this album...greatness!...catchy,melodic,original and from... Norway!!!(the land of Black Metal!)...in here we have pure AOR mayhem!..."Still In Love" an instant fave,"Wings Of Steel" catchy,"Lorraine" brought to mind Bryan Adams!,"Waitin' For You" just nice,"Love Cries" obviously a fave,"Mystery" another catchy tune along with "Hanoi Waters" and "Ammunition" closes smoothly and nice...for me an essential album and with a vocalist (Mr Torstein Flakne) that has a voice similar to Bryan Adams and Richard Marx mixed together...an enjoyable album 4 sure..buy!.98/100.

| Of course Love Cries is the obvious killer track here, and the ballad Waitin for you is a very good song too. But the other songs of the album don't rise above average IMO.

| I didn't realize "Love Cries" was as big a hit as it was, but apparently it came close to cracking the Top 40 in America. I just remember seeing the video on Hard 30, MTV's half-hour afternoon hard-rock block. I was underwhelmed then, and still am today. The song just doesn't takeoff. It kinda simmers along without ever coming to a boil. The rest of the album is the same way—it just seems very restrained, despite a couple of very "metal" song titles.
