| Another OK release by Vain. Although I'm not a great fan of them, this is good for what it is and contains many decent tracks. The trouble is, it sounds a lot too much like their previous stuff.

| In my humble opinion this release was a nice surprise indeed. The release is catchy, but mostly very mature. One warning I have to speak up is that the band doesn't sound that glam anymore, Davy Vain and Co. sound more hard rock than ever. Nevertheless it is a good thing in my opinion. There is lots of clasic solos and twin solos to please guitar fans. Davy's vocals are impecable and the musicianship still is tight. Favorite tracks include Greener, Stray Kittens, Enough Rope, Distance of Love, Vain and Worship you. Fans of Vain will be very pleased with this release. There is a limited Japanese 2 cd version which Includes All Those Strangers. Buy it you won't be disappointed. The band captures that 80's raw atmosphere which makes this release very clever and enjoyable.

| Really??? It took 23 years for this band to finally make a release that rivals their debut!!! Not that their other releases were bad, but having only a handful of standouts on each with added emphasis on Psych/Stoner influences (although I don't think anyone could have done it better) just wasn't cutting it. The band always blames Island Records demise for their lack of success (which is partially true), but like most of this genre- egos, bad decisions & selection of new members (ahem..Steven Adler) with the takeover of Grunge did nothing more than send these guys whirling into obscurity (with even a name change at one point..no, I'm not talking about "Dragonfly"...). But make no mistake, we all know that nobody ever sounded like this guy & they really were on the verge of making it big after the 1989 debut (although "All Those Strangers" wasn't near as good- but amendable)..it never seeing the light of day sealed their doom... Well the original lineup is in tact here, & someone...

| forgot to tell these guys that Sleaze was dead. It's strange how one classic release can be so difficult to recapture...think of all the bands you had high hopes for and the end result...but VAIN have managed to do the near impossible. Yes this is that good. Is it better??...I won't leave my opinion in respect to a classic but is is blatantly evident that these guys made it a point to finally go after what had been missing since their debut..an having the original lineup back in tact may have helped. Davy sounds impossibly identical to his vocals on the debut & Danny & Jaime were on a mission here as the guitars explode. The band has never sounded better. I've always thought that when these guys were firing on all cylinders, noone could touch them & I'm proud that in my mind they have proven me right. Congratulations to accomplishing an almost impossible feat. You will rock from start to finish, you will bang & be sad all the same that it took this goddamn long. A crime is overlooked..

| If you've been waiting in vain for this long-running band to recapture the mysterious magic of their classic, legendary debut ("No Respect"), consider your wait over. This is a little more hard rock-oriented than the glam-sleaze of yesteryear, but that works in their favor, and there are more than enough similarities in sound/style to please any fan. Whether or not you think this one is superior to "No Respect" is a matter of personal tastes (and personally, I do) but no matter where you rank this in Vain's discography, any fan that picks up this CD will not want to hang themselves with regret later.

| The No Respect album is a hidden gem, one of the most underappreciated albums of the 80s LA Metal scene. However most of Vains follow up albums have been pretty weak until this album. I was really blown away when I heard this album as it's almost as good as their killer No Respect album. If you can find this one for a reasonable price then buy it!
