A pretty decent laid-back smooth AOR effort, and for fans of his work with Alien and on the first Snake Charmer this is probably the only solo album of his worth bothering with (ignore the JADE albums). His voice sounds pretty good, although I've never been a big fan of it. There is some crap on here though; "Big Bad Rap" and "A December Monday" are horrendous, and the version of FM's "Closer to Heaven" is pretty tedious, but there is some good AOR on here so if you see this one cheap... 7/10.

Very good disc! Pete plays around a little with pop rock, and check out the perfectly executed 'Little lover'- what a song! Awesome stuff, are the sensationally beautiful ballads 'Stay a while' and 'River of tears', however the show easily belongs to one of Sandberg's best songs ever- 'Cold hearted woman'! What a perfect melodic rock song. Overall the album's a little patchy, but the gems are worth the effort. Recommended! Sorry Tim (2), I love the Jade albums and thing they're better than this.

THIS CD IS GREAT NO MASTERPIECE OR OTHER THING JUST GREAT,WHEN THE NIGHT COMES OPENS MELODIC,THE GREAT AOR IN LITTLE LOVER,THE COOL BALLAD STAY A WHILE, COLD HEARTED WOMAN BEST SONG, THE VOICE OF THE GREAT PETE SANDBERG IS THE BEST THING IN THIS CD. LONG LIVE TO PETE SANDBERG AND THE HARD-AOR. 85/100.

yawning boring! Death or Trash are not my cup of tea, but I prefer AOR with a hardrock touch instead of this elevatormusicsound. He ruined ALIEN after Jidhed left.

From: coverdale14 Date: January 5, 2008 at 13:02
WOW! IN WHICH ELEVATOR PLAYS THIS MUSIC! I'D TO GO! YOU SAID, YOU DON'T LIKE TOTALLY PURE AOR, THAT'S ALL SAID.

Very nice and pleasant album IMO...Pete Sandberg has released some nice stuff as a solo artist apart from his "Jade" & "Snake Charmer" projects and obviously when he was part of the mega AORsters Alien...in here you can find marshmallowed songs in the shape of "When The Night Comes","Little Lover"(good AOR mid tempo),"Stay A While"(beauty),"Cold Hearted Woman","Closer To Heaven"(originally by British AORsters FM)& "Need Your Lovin'"...this is a matter of tastes,if you are looking for hard driven AOR then maybe is not your album but this could easily fit into any self respected lover of the genre anyway...recommended...88/100

Not a bad album at all, pleasantly diversified with plenty of nice songs. Pete Sandberg hasn't got an exceptional voice, but the musical quality is there. My favorite songs are the opener When the night comes and the nice rocker Unchain your heart.

Excellent collection of songs for PETE SANDBERG offering a fine melodic rock sound and approach back in 97 before that kinda music becoming popular among heavy metal fans and be transformed to whhat they call aor nowadays!many nice lines and hooks performed in a smooth way by Pete with a lot of keys and programming included creates a certain classy groove!all the songs standout and still sounds fresh
