Not aor in my opinion..More in the vein of Guns and roses..It's good..

I liked some of the tracks. A few were stale but this disc is worth picking up since it's not that expensive.

The Andy Garcia of glam bands. Not a lot of star quality but not unlikeable by virtue of its own mediocrity. Something to play in Denver when you're bored...

The song Lorraine is a total rip off of "Every Rose Has It's Thorn"

Late in the album, there are a couple tracks that could almost pass for TNT songs, "Change" being one of them. "Party For Your Life" has a huge hair metal chorus! This is a great CD- don't buy it and the joke's on you.

Hey, does anyone know anything about their other release "Cool Deal"? like what year did it come out? thanks

"Cool Deal," released in 1992 in Japan only, is far superior to the self-titled debut. One of the few expensive collector's pieces out there that's actually worth the high asking price.

Thanks M.Allen, I was wondering about that one. The S/T sure didn't do much for me.

Does anyone have any info on a 3rd album called "Ecstasy"...is it by the same band or is it a different band? Is it worth getting?

Hi Matt, the album you are talking about is by a different band, a portuguese band in fact , quite good and VERY hard to find, even here in Portugal, i really cant compare it with this band as i don't have any cd by the american Joker.

Paulo, I wasn't overwhelmed by this one. I haven't heard Cool Deal and I wonder if it is worth the hype.

I actually ordered this cd from davesmetal but he sent me the "other" Joker cd by mistake. I would still like to get this one, though. Who do these guys sound like?

This one just shocked me when I got it. Didn't dig the first two tracks too much and thought it'd just be your average hard rock CD, but then 'Lorraine' hit and blew me away, followed by the awesome 'Party for your Life', the killer hard rocker 'She Wants Vengeance' and 'Pledge an Allegiance' and the lovely 'Remember' and 'Change'. Yeah, overall these guys really make a killer of an album here with a bunch of stunning commercial hard rock tracks.

While Cool Deal is by far a better album, this one is worthy of a listen. Lorraine, I Want Love, Pledge an Allegience and Change are all good tunes. If you can't track down Cool Deal, this one is will hold you over until you can get your mitts on goods. Joker only scratched the surface with this one. It helped build the bridge to a brilliant second album.

This is the band's debut release, glam / hair metal with the familiar big guitars, hooks, choruses and vocals. All done up in the vein of WARRANT and SYRE. An enjoyable listen....

excellent hair metal release by JOKER back in a time when the hard rock music had exploded and everything seemed easy!there wont be another era like this and i suggest everybody explore it as much as possible!JOKER perform US commercial hard rock with rockers ,ballads and mid tempos !the songs are fine ,strong and full of hooks and the guitar work remarkable!the strongest part though is the whole feeling of the band ,music that comes straight from the heart!"change" and "party for your life" are fantastic songs!!

A good album but shamely with a poor sound...obviously this has nothin' 2 do with the band's next effort "Cool Deal" of 1992 that is a killer album by all means..."Party For Your Life","She Wants Vengeance","Pledge Of Allegiance","Change"(AOR feel) & "Hey Salesman"(a real good rocking song!) are my faves from this record...86/100
