How a German metal band can convincingly operate in a Southern rock format is beyond me, but whistlin' Dixie aside, this album has its moments. Uneven, but 'Back To You' and 'Somebody's Waiting' recall the glory days of 'Fireworks' and prevent the album from being a complete bust. |

I'm disappointed with this one.. where's the energy of 'Fireworks' and 'Point blank'?? Only 'Wake up', 'Somebody's waiting' are the only songs I would save.. the rest is boring although I think better than 'Feels like coming home'. |

I like it! pretty southern tunes for a German band. Of course, 'Fireworks' remains Bonfire's masterpiece, but this 1997's album is more adult and soulful than their others. Listen to 'Before we say goodbye', 'Lay your heart on the line', 'First cut is the Deepest', 'Wake up'...how can you dislike them? |

A pretty damn awesome release... but contrary to what everyone else says, there's barely any southern-rock on this - ignore the title and cover art. This is just melodic 80s-styled hard rock admiteddly with maybe the odd twangy lick here and there, as well as the cool double-whammy of the Dixie at the end (one relaxed, the second more rockin', they flow nicely together). Don't go expecting Skynyrd or something, it's nothing like that, it's just a more melodic and soulful Bonfire. Great CD 8/10 |

'Lay your heart on the line' and 'Somebody's waiting' are great melodic rockers. 'Good or bad' is a riff driven killer and the cover of 'First cut is the deepest' is actually very good. Nice 4 track EP - unfortunately the rest is some of the most uninspirational, lack-lustre hard rock I recall hearing. Pretty dismal, especially from a band who had done so well. Overall, disappointing album, but not the worst. |

Better than 'Feels Like Comin' Home,' not as good as 'Point Blank' or 'Fireworks,' but still a good, solid melodic hard rock effort from this long-running German band. After the acoustic style of their previous studio album, the band fired up the guitars again, and it's good to have 'em back. Not really a lot of southern-rock influence here, despite what you may have heard. Bottom line, if melodic hard rock is part of your heart & soul, then this CD should be part of your collection. |

Thank god, they are back ! Not as good as Fire Works or Point Blanc, but good enough to put a smile on my face ! |

No one says anything about one of the best tracks in this album: "GOOD OR BAD" what a song !, somebody's waiting, wake up, and lay your heart on the line are very good songs too. |

very good release by the mighty BONFIRE,in their new more easy direction.basic elements of bonfire sound are all over the songs again :great vocal harmonies by claus, solid guitars by hans and excellent mix of melodic rockers and ballads.standout tracks are "somebody s waiting","lay your heart on the line" and "desire".another good one by this great band |

Plain and simple album IMO...the couple of AORish tracks "Before We Say Goodbye" & "Back To You" saved the nation ...tracks 1,2,5 & 9 has something to offer too but....80/100(the "high rate" goes because the compositions still has a special touch but nothing else)... |

yes bonfire come back with a vengeance.this record is excellent.of course it s not at the same level than the two classics (fireworks and point blank).the lone reproach i can make is that there is too many ballads on this album.but when bonfire rocks they rocks!!!!!the japan import is highly recommanded cause we have two very great bonus tracks live("wake up" and "the stroke". |
