this album is the perfect continuation of Fireworks, it is produced by Michael Wagener again and it rocks!, it is funny because after the first listening it doesn't seem that good but pay atention and you won't be disappointed. Great choruses, great riffs, great songs, what else do you need?

From: jason Date: June 8, 2002 at 17:17
This album came out the same year as the movie 'Shocker.' The sound track for that movie had a band called Bonfire with a song called 'Sword & stone.' I thought that maybe that song would be on this album, but I guess not. Does anyone know that song and is it this band? The song was written by Desmond Child, Paul Stanley & Bruce Kulick. Dangerous Toys also had a song on the sound track called 'Demon Bell.' Good Stuff!..............

From: THE ROCKER Date: July 22, 2002 at 11:22
ESTE DISCO ES CLARAMENTE SUPERIOR AL FIREWOKS Y POR SUPUESTO AL PRIMERO,HUBIERA SIDO PERFECTO SI HUBIERAN INCLUIDO LA VERSIOEN DE KISS 'SWORD & STONE' Q HICIERON PARA LA PELICULA 'SHOCKER' ESE MISMO A'O

From: dariosapi Date: July 28, 2002 at 11:42
Yes 'sword and stone' is one of the best bonfire's song! It's possible to find it only in the Shocker soundtrack. But this album is great anyway..but just different from 'Fireworks'..more american sounding..

From: dokken6008 Date: August 25, 2002 at 17:02
Actually that's not really true. You can also find Bonfire's cover of 'Sword and Stone' on their 2-disc set 'The Very Best Of Bonfire' cd for twenty-four bucks on Tower. Haven't heard the song yet, though.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 25, 2002 at 21:09
D-6008, give this song a listen. It's pretty good.

From: dokken6008 Date: September 4, 2002 at 3:42
j., I just recieved a used copy of the 'Shocker' soundtrack, and skipped directly to the fourth track. Yeah, 'Sword And Stone' is very good. Desmond Child's production is superior to that heard on any Bonfire record (I'm pretty sure on that). Big chorus, thundering drums, great sound, kick-ass lead guitars and solo--good stuff. It would be totally awesome if Bonfire ever did an American tour, but it's unlikely. It's a possibility, though (I guess).

From: Scandinavia Date: December 30, 2002 at 22:21
Mistake calling this album aor...Sure it has ballads, but the majority of the trax are hard-hitting, melodic, german-sounding hardrock at its best! Angel used to play in Pretty Maids but sounds much better here...Real state-of-the-art techniques at that time...Guess the album was way to overseen......A classic european hardrock album! A must-have!

From: dariosapi Date: February 3, 2003 at 11:23
I'm agree with Scandinavia.. Angel was a great guitar player, I think better than Hans Ziller.. his sound was unique!Does anyone know what he's doing now??

From: fretboardfrenzy Date: June 3, 2003 at 6:04
(Angel gerhard schleifer fans must check this band: CHARADE) ex-sinner guitarist angel schleifer is very good guitarist. in my opinion this album is bombastic. excellent michael wagener production again! vocals is very good, tight rythm section n tasty, colorful melodic rock songs euro-american style bonfire is a tuff band. definately best album from this talented band

From: RR-Finland Date: August 29, 2003 at 5:07
With Fire Works, this is mostly played on my stereo. Really many catchy tunes and good choruses including also good ballads. Every band who sings about Never Surrending can't be bad!! A must hard rock album to your player.

From: Scandinavia Date: November 14, 2003 at 17:28
I recently downloaded the track 'Sword & Stone' from the Shocker soundtrack but as a demo version with Paul Stanley on vocals instead of Claus Lessmann...Can anybody tell me where this demo version can be found?

From: robert Date: December 14, 2003 at 22:13

From: run2u Date: June 30, 2004 at 18:28

From: Rocker76 Date: July 2, 2004 at 11:48
On Point Blank, Bonfire pull off the 80s metal hat trick. Continued top-notch production from class act Michael Wagener showcases the melodic prowess of this timeless 80s metal band. This album is not quite on the scale of the first two but it is def. recommended. There are no filler tracks & each song rocks out like you expect them to. A lot of people compare Bonfire to Fair Warning. To me, there is no comparison...Bonfire blows Fair Warning out of the freakin' water! Rating 9/10

From: TIM (2) Date: July 2, 2004 at 12:35
Some outside writers on this one resulting in a slightly different style from 'Fireworks', and if I was being ultra picky I'd lose those short intro tracks as they annoy me, but this is still awesome. I just love 'Say Goodbye' with big hooks in the verses and a killer chorus. The vocals and production were probably better than on the first 2 albums, but from personal taste I'd just about give them the edge over this.

Indeed the Bonfire's masterpiece besides'Fireworks'.After 2 releases H.Ziller left the band to form Ez'Livin'.I'll wait that this cd will be put on the site to write my opinion about it(Ez'Livin'...WOW!!!!!!!)

From: Geoff Date: March 14, 2005 at 19:40
Simply stated, this is one of my all time top 5 albums. Nothing but sheer brilliance involved here. I remember listening to 'Bang Down the Door' for the first time and feeling sad that I'd not been able to say goodbye to friends and family, as clearly I was in Heaven! I soon realised that I was still alive, in a state of pure bliss as the excellence of 'Waste No Time' passed through my ears, the delightfully entertaining 'Hard on Me' caused smiles, 'Why Is it Never Enough' is a ballad of excelle

From: Geoff Date: March 14, 2005 at 19:41
...excellent proportions, and then just when I thought it couldn't get better - 'Tony's Roulette' destroyed those dreams with it's sheer melodic hard rock perfection, 'You're Back' is harmless fun, 'Look of Love' still chills me today and is a clear highlight, 'The Price of Loving You', 'Freedom is My Belief', 'Never surrender' and 'Youth patrol' are all KILLER hard rockers, 'Gimme Some' is the only filler, but has it's moments, 'Say Goodbye' is as good as it ever gets and an all-time fave, best

From: Geoff Date: March 14, 2005 at 19:42
...best of the album for me, 'Know Right Now' comes very close to that and 'Who's Foolin' Who' is a beautiful closer. Sorry for the long comment, but for me this album comes as close to 10/10 as it gets. Sheer brilliance!

From: Lennie Date: March 24, 2005 at 16:34
If you dont know Bonfire, buy this - its the best one IMO. Great value with 17 tracks - good hard rock. Nothing new here but 'it does what it says on the box' - rocks yr b******s off. If youre a bloke that is...........

From: Frank Date: April 16, 2005 at 15:19
Germanys best ever, perfect melodic hardrock 9,5/10 !

From: Darren D Date: April 24, 2005 at 1:18
One of the best most consistant releases to come from a German band. Great songwriting with stadium chorus. Claus has never sounded as he does here. Losing Angel (guitar) and Jorg (bass) was the biggest mistake Bonfire made. This album should've made them HUGE around the world. 'Hard On Me' would have to have one of the most awesome video clips of the late 80's. Still in my top 10 albums EVER!!!

From: metalmaniac777 Date: September 14, 2005 at 17:46
I'd cut off my balls with a dull, rusty knife before I'd give up this CD. This melodic hard rock monster fires on all 10 cylinders, pushing it forward with pure perfection. This is a flawless, stunning collection of songs loaded with driving guitars, big hooks, explosive choruses, and brilliant backing vocals, all given the professional sonic treatment from Michael Wagener's stellar production. Any melodic hard rock fan would have to be a bleepin' idiot not to own this gift from God.

From: Erik Date: December 6, 2005 at 12:43
Brrrrrrilliant. German melodic rock at its very very best !

From: Erik Date: December 6, 2005 at 13:19
Hard on me, Waste no time, Your back, Look of love, Price of love, Gimme some, Say goodbye (!!) and Know right now (!!!!) are my favorite and sensational songs.

From: Mediaab Date: December 18, 2005 at 17:11
Point Blank is simply perfect!! Vocals, guitars, bass, drums, production, monster choruses song after song, very melodic yet powerful and good energy - one of the VERY BEST releases ever in melodic rock!!! 15 killer songs, that's just amazing!! Bang down the door, Waste no time, Hard on me -what an excellent trio to start off with! Also great ballads - Why is it never enough, Look of love and fantastic acoustic song Who's foolin' who. This is one of my top 10 CDs ever!! 99/100.

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:14
Another classic album from the boys and value for money ! 9/10 Hard on me is my favourite song, but there is no filler in sight !

From: metalhead4life Date: September 9, 2006 at 21:46
Definitely a great album and great follow up to Fireworks!! Good production and you get plenty of songs on this CD that are awesome - rocks hard! Also get some good ballads. You cannot go wrong with Bonfire's first 3 albums (this one being their 3rd).

From: Metalmusicman Date: December 9, 2006 at 20:35
Bonfire manage to serve up another top notch record even with the departure of a founding member. This is just what you'd expect from the melodic rock masters and a killer follow-up to 'Fireworks'. While not quite as good as the utterly brilliant 'Fireworks' it is very close, but I did find a few songs this time I could have done without. Dispite that, songs like 'Why Is It Never Enough', 'Tony's Roulette', and 'Look Of Love' are some of the best I've ever heard. A must for Bonfire fans!!!

From: jan_vexel Date: November 2, 2007 at 20:57
well i dont know many albums with 17 songs and no filler....(maybe 'gimme some' is the only song i dont like).rare mass inspiration.95/100

From: JamesEagle Date: November 2, 2009 at 16:03
Too many tracks, but lots of very good songs. Easily enough songs to make a classic album, should perhaps have left 3 or 4 tracks out though (e.g. 'Youth Patrol', 'Who's Foolin' Who'). Having said that, it's still a fantastic album, with 'Tony's Roulette', 'You're Back', 'The Price of Loving You' and 'Know Right Now' being my favourites. I didn't like Fireworks as much, but maybe need to go back and give it another go. Nice!

From: Swedish Rocker Date: July 17, 2010 at 0:42
Bonfire at their prime. 17 songs and no fillers. Well, okay the short nonsense "songs" Minestrone and Jungle Call are pointless, but for the 15 real songs they're all amn good

From: hair metal again Date: October 11, 2010 at 7:15
this is hard rock excellence!for me this is in my top 5 list of all time !words aren t enough ,i can see perfection in every song here."look of love","know right now","waste no time"........ and the rest of the songs with the amazing guitar work by Angel !simply a masterpiece.i really cant remeber how many times i ve listened to that amazing release.do yourselves a favour and give it a spin

From: DanDare Date: October 19, 2010 at 18:53
Even though I own this album, I don't feel qualified to comment on it other than to say that I've listened to it once and my impression was that there are too many song on it and that they have lost all the melody that made 'Fireworks' such a fantastic album. There's no doubt that the power is still there, it's just the immediate hooks that have gone. Maybe I need to give it another listen.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 19, 2012 at 19:19
Probably not the ideal follower to their best album done "Fireworks" but still quite effective IMO...for me the best tracks are the ones with an AORish feel such as "Say Goodbye","Know Right Now" & "Look Of Love" but the cover of Desmond Child's song "Price Of Loving You" plus tracks 1,,2,3,5 & 11 are also pretty good ones too...recommended...90/100

From: 123charpenay Date: May 21, 2014 at 14:04
exceptional,fabulous,extraordinary,ect,ect...my english vocabulary is not enough.with this masterpiece they are at the peak of their career.they album is a miracle cause it s better than the exceptional"fireworks".we have here a lesson ,a demonstration of brilliant and top class melodic hard rock.only hits in this disc all songs have some ultra catchy choruses who hooked you immediatly.you can sing under the shower all their songs.unfortunately no bonus track in the (rare) japan issue.

From: 123charpenay Date: June 13, 2014 at 11:10
one more time the yesterrock reissue with 7 bonus tracks live is a deception.yes my cd player write "live bootlegg" but it s a shame to put on the market a record with some bonus tracks live wich have a so weak and so rotten sound (except track 18 the beautiful ballad "you make me feel" wich have a decent sound.
