What a disappointment, this one ! This is a total different (read, modern/alternative) Bonfire ! Avoid !

From: R.S.- Rocks Date: January 27, 2004 at 12:49
The worst Album (Beside the German-Album from 1996) they ever did. If you love the older Albums don`t buy this. If you don`t know the Band by now check out "Fireworks"- their best Album ever.Claus und Hans: schämt euch!

I'll never buy a Bonfire record anymore if they'll go on making this piece of junk again! This band forgot who they are... I was a very big fan of them, I thought they were great since they didn't make a nu-metal/grunge crap release in the 90's.. they were always rockin and even their latest 2 CDs are great. I'm very disappointed with this... sounds like Oasis or some crappy pop alternative band - no great guitar solo, no great drums (although Kohler is a great drummer), crappy vocals and especi

From: wicked man Date: April 30, 2004 at 9:50
I'm not suprised Chris Lausmann went to play with A REAL KICKIN' ASS GERMAN HARD ROCK BAND called: FRONTLINE. Since I've listen to Frontline I totally forgot Bonfire! This CD is CRAP!

From: michael,belfast Date: May 17, 2004 at 17:32
i disliked this at first, but it has grown on me, true, its not classic fireworks or point blank but it has some good songs on there, this one is a grower, but why was "tell me what you know" excluded. a more mellow bonfire perhaps, but give it a few more spins. all albums are class, get them in, but not the german lyric album.

From: TIM (2) Date: June 1, 2004 at 12:23
This is terrible. Even "September on My Mind" which should be a haunting reflection of events on 9/11 is just boring and forgettable. I thought the "Strike X" album was a disappointment, but THIS?....

From: Geoff Date: June 14, 2004 at 20:39
Wow, some harsh comments here! Whilst I still love Bonfire and will always buy their albums, I admit this one is crap. I don't think the style has changed dramatically to nu-breed or grunge or whatever people are saying. The songs are just sh*t, regardless of the style. Bad, bad songs and a bad, bad album from a band that seemed to be getting back into the swing of things with 'Fuel to the flames' and 'Strike X'. Oh well, let's hope for a good next one!

From: Federico-italy Date: July 31, 2004 at 7:19
This band has always made great hard rock album, their last before this(Strike ten) really rocks. Now they try to do something different, sometimes this cd is really boring(on and on,give a little) some songs are good (rock n'roll star and Preachers and whores). Well we can understand this great band that try to do something different, but please come back to the great hard rock you always deliver us.

From: dokken6008 Date: August 9, 2004 at 23:21
What 'Free' sounds like is the band spent the night over at a studio, had a few sessions and put out a demo album for a studio record. Extremely disappointing to hear something this dry, raw, unrefined and unprofessional from one of the top melodic acts of their time. Just because it isn't the 80s anymore does not give these type of bands an excuse to put out shabby material. This cd had a long way to go before becoming what I would call a "studio cd". The next one had better not be like this...

Germany's biggest sellouts in the hard rock history! This album is pure horse crap! A V O I D ! ! !

From: ex-fan2 Date: October 21, 2004 at 5:26
I cannot understand how Bonfire aren't ashamed of themselves for having recorded the WORST hard rock album ever!!!!!Even in the 90's this would be CRAP! The songs are so boring!! Like me and the guy above there will be a lot of "ex-fans"!!!!

From: dokken6008 Date: December 10, 2004 at 19:11
Check out Bonfire's website at www.the-flame.com. They have some news. In February of 2005, the boys are releasing a double disc release containing newly recorded versions of twenty songs from their catalogue. "Under Blue Skies" ('Strike X'), "You Make Me Feel", "Give It A Try" ('Fireworks') & more. This is exciting news to me. Some of those old tunes really need to be re-recorded with modern recording technology. I hope they re-record "Ready 4 Reaction" as long as it's not an unplugged version.

Creo que sería bueno que todos los que opinan en este foro, se dedicaran a cosas más interesantes, que perder el tiempo en bodadas tan integrales como las que he podido leer. Os lodice un buen amigo que piensa en vosotros

we all want the real bonfire back . time will show .but i wish they will wake up realize what the fuck they have done .

From: metalmaniac777 Date: September 23, 2005 at 12:40
Wow, this CD has been royally bitch-slapped! Yeah, it's a disappointment, but seems some fans would piss gasoline on the band and then toss 'em a lit match. After several CDs that sounded very similar to each other, the group tried tweaking their sound and while the results are less than impressive, this release is hardly the Antichrist of melodic rock some would have you believe. People are free to think what they want, but this is listenable stuff, though a little on the dull side.

From: kipvanpearcy Date: May 10, 2006 at 16:24
Easily their worst release, there's not one good song on this CD. A shame, really.

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:42
What the HELL ? Ich könnte kot***....nein,ich bin schon dabei !!! Claus,Hans,so ja mal nicht ! Schämt euch !

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:52
Ich muss noch was dazu sagen.Aber mein Englisch reicht für das ganze net aus, also in deutsch.Welche Band will als nächtes "modern" klingen ? Lasst euc

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:53
shit,too long ! sorry

From: Melodiker Date: July 31, 2006 at 12:56
Sorry, musste mal meinen Ärger freiem lauf lassen

From: fournier Date: October 21, 2006 at 19:50
En general es un disco flojo con alguna cancion destacable como Rock N Roll Star , What About Love? o la balada Friends poco mas a destacar

From: z4roxx Date: March 27, 2007 at 15:18
First Bonfire wrong step came after several awesome releases,so I must say:Long live to Bonfire!!Thi cd is for a teen ager, not for me,some song right for MTV channel maybe, not for the real fans of this awesome band....

From: UglyKidJoe Date: February 15, 2009 at 1:08
As for me i like it!Good songs,esp Free,Friends,Preachers & Whores)

From: hair metal again Date: September 16, 2009 at 2:09
bonfire is one of the most faithful bands in what they do,and i m abig fan since their early days.in my opinion this is their weakest release but on the other hand it is ok.2 or 3 really good songs like "love cca", "i would do anything for you","free".overall i always expect more from them and i would like them to return their sound more to the "point blank " era ,when they were awesome.however i always enjoy hearing from bonfire.great band

From: rick kerch vzla Date: January 23, 2012 at 20:30
An album that is far behind of the band's classic sound indeed...it has nice songs though, poppy ones, but i'd say that you have to be very open minded to dig this, otherwise you'll reject it at once!..modern pop rock by the 4 sides!!!...about the songs there are some of them that caught my attention such as "I Would Do Anything 4 U"(catchy pop feel),"What About Love?"(catchy pop feel aswell),"Preachers & Whores"( ),"Love Can Conquer All"(Pop/AORish)& "September On My Mind"(rocky semi smooth song)...not a complete waste but if you are expectin' something ala old Bonfire stuff then you'd better get another album...for me it was ok though...80/100
