A few fillers, average lyrics, but overall Bonfire are back on track with a great new disc. 'Day 11' is a great opener, 'But we sill rock' is even better and the band really does still rock. A few fillers like 'Bet your bottom dollar', 'Right things right' & the average ballad 'Blink of an eye' slow things down a bit, but there are more than enough gems too. 'What's on your mind' and 'Nation of love' are traditional Bonfire tracks, very close to their prime, & overall this is highly recommended.

just a few fillers, better than free , notion of love, wings to fly and whats on your mind are my favs.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: June 1, 2006 at 13:06
After disappointing fans with "Free," Bonfire bounces back with this new CD and proves they've still got what it takes to be one of the best melodic hard rock bands around. "Day 11" is a powerful opener, a thunderous Bonfire anthem that instantly shows the band has put the sissy stuff behind them and are back to rock, big time. Lots of hooks, catchy choruses, big backing vocals...all the usual Bonfire ingredients make this one go down better than a double-shot of high-end whiskey on the rocks.

Realmente desde el 97 les habia perdido el rastro. Pero este disco no sera nada del otro mundo pero no esta nada mal sobre todo con el potente comienzo , fieros riffs como antaño, buenos coros, y una buena produccion. Ojala sigan asi. Hola Rafo te mande un mail. Saludos

Too modern, from time to time it's reminiscent of Green Day, etc.

If you like Bonfire buy this almbum. I did it! This is another true Bonfire release, hard-rock melodies, nice tunes and rifts. Good job on this one guys! Rap is Crap!

HI, you´re right, ROCKNROLL, this is a 100% Bonfire album. Maybe the best since Fireworks I thought. But it`s 2006 and also a 80`s inspired Hardrock album can`t sound like 1986, Vikki Roxx. Too many influences and styles passed by. But in comparing it with their first two albums it`s so near by the 80`s as can be. Welcome home, Bonfire. Rock on!

From: TIM (2) Date: June 20, 2006 at 11:20
Well at least they're back to sounding something like they used to. This album is reminiscent of a heavier-edged "Strike X": a variety of heavy rockers, mid-tempo commercial tunes, & acoustic ballads. Oh, & "Rap is Crap!" - which is awful beyond recognition. "Cry For Help" & "Whats On Your Mind" are the highlights, but there are about 4 or 5 songs that just about hit the right mark. Some good songs, okay performances, decent production, & a return to something close to their past glories. 7/10.

I agreemant with TIM (2)not bad not brilliant.7/10

From: GlenRavine Date: June 29, 2006 at 15:18
Average - better than a few of the last releases, it seems like they have found or finding their classic 'Fireworks' sound back - not bad. If you enjoyed any of their stuff - you will def. like it.

Not quite there, but Bonfire are back on track with a return to the sound that made them great. This disc sounds like it was written 10 years ago and would have fit in nicely during that period. Leaps and bounds over the dissapointing "Free" album and better overall than the three releases before that. 7.5 out of 10.

From: firetruckdriver Date: December 18, 2006 at 4:46
I'm sure glad to see these guys are getting back to the Bonfire sound that I've grown to love. I've not picked this one up yet but intend to. Have heard sound samples though and liked what I've heard. I was so dissapointed with Free. Bonfire is a great group and It's good to have them back, playing good melodic hard rock. I have loved the other albums except for Free, and I'm sure this one will be no different.

This is a really nice return from Bonfire. If u're a fan like me you will like this album. Buy it! 8/10

From: hair metal again Date: February 23, 2010 at 8:59
surely not their best one ,but still its a classic bonfire record which wont disappoint you.all the elements are here ,clear european melodic hard rock sound, nice vocs by claus and "heavy' guitars by hans.the only thing is that i always expect more from one of my all time favorite bands.anyway the 2 openers are anthemic bonfire songs ,we have 2 ballads and plenty mid tempo songs like "notion of love" which make the double x release enjoyable.i d prefer 1 or 2 songs out of the collection like "rap is crap'.anyway this is another good release by the great germans

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 13, 2012 at 18:23
Bonfire has grown taking different music approaches(from the great Melodic Hard Rock/AOR they did at the very beginning of they career through Modern Rock)and this "Double X" shows us that crystal clear...as for me goes it is an acceptable album with ups and downs as described in comments above but still likable..."Day 11"(kicks a**),"But We Still Rock","Cry For Help"(nice),"Bet Your Bottom Dollar"( ),"What's On Your Mind"(catchy),"Nation Of Love"(AORish),"So What" & "Blink Of An Eye"(in its semi acoustic extended version) are the ones that caught my attention in here...enjoyable...88/100

From: 123charpenay Date: April 2, 2013 at 12:58
an other superb realize from bonfire.one more excellent cd add to their brilliant discography.like always a very solid and consistant german melodic hard rock.only one little filler (track 10) ,the rest is perfect.great production, great songs, great ,great great....i recommand the japan import cause track 13 is an excellent extended version of track 6 "blink of an eye".yessssss totally agree with bonfire "RAP IS CRAP".

From: 123charpenay Date: May 23, 2014 at 11:24
i ca add to my last comment that track 13 "blink of an eye" extended version is sensational.this super song reminds me the mega hit"lonesome guitar" from the "wonder band from dixie land" doc holliday.the song start slow ,a superb ballad and at the end the rhytm is speed with a fabulous duet of guitars.
