Bonfire is one of the best groups going. They've stuck to their roots through the years and are still putting out teriffic rock today. So many good songs, it is hard to choose their best. Some of their best are contained here. They should be huge in America, too bad alot of people over here are into that alterna-crap. Thank goodness for the good folks who surf this site and still love good melodic hard rock! If you haven't checked out Bonfire yet, do so. You won't be dissapointed!

I had only heard Fireworks and Don't Touch The Light before picking up this compilation and am very happy with it. Bonfire are extremely melodic and have had some great ballads and mid-tempo rockers. Very polished production. Check out there website at http://www.bonfire.de/ They have really put a lot of work into the site. Some of the songs are very cheesy but there is a certain honesty and sincerity about them. You can't knock a band for simply trying to write fun music!

I'm glad they included Sword And Stone from the Shocker soundtrack. This is one of the best hard rock songs i have ever heard. This is a very good compilation that covers a fair chunk of this great German hard rock act. If you like Jaded Heart/Scorpions type hard rock, then this is a good place to start with this band. 8.5/10....

I do have several of their releases on casette and vinyl but this is the only cd set that I own, for now. Some of their best from those early years that show why they had such a large following! A good place to start if you want to get a good idea what they were all about!

There's only one thing funnier than a U.S. HR band faking a southern bred by the Bayou sound. And that's a German band doing it. (Sauerkraut song title updates: Sweet Home, Düsseldorf, Down to Dresden, Wild Dortmund Dixie. 24 of the 29 ( • ) Bullets on this album are LEAD. When you see a X-Mas song and southern rock covers on a greatest hits package, you know you're in for a shit show. 'Fireworks'(1987) was this band's best album by far, and only a handful of tracks made it here. "Proud of My Country" sounds like a right wing country rock tune. There's a lot of eyes roll dumb lyric songs to boot "Too Much Hollywood". 'Sword and Stone' from the Shocker (1989) movie soundtrack is about the only other good song besides the 'Fireworks' tracks IMO, on this weak best of.
