MATA HARI, by all accounts, is an American rock n' roll phenomenon. The band's signature rock sound can been described as 'Guitar oriented RATT meets ICON and WHITE LION with an edge!' While that's probably the closest anyone has come to labeling the band, MATA HARI is MATA HARI !! Actually, they are a mix of guitar oriented hard rock and biker rock with outstanding musicianship and screaming vocals, along with a party atmosphere!!! You just can't ask for any better and this is why this CD has been sought after by collectors for the past several years. One of my favorites.....slip it in the player and commence rocking....... |

totally disagree with low rating of this cd. good guitar work, strong vocal lines, catchy tunes and good prodution is making this cd very comfortable to listening |

Alright disc, cannot for the life of me no matter what approach I use, what angle I take, or what substance I indulge in pre-listening, cannot even remotely hear what it is Delbert is dropping massive loads over this disc for, and I have honestly and sincerely tried, sorry, just do not hear a single thing in this that could necessitate the absolutely cock popping response as stated by Delbert, just sounded to me like old run of the mill by the numbers early 90's commercial rock, with weak production, no slickness to hide the mediocre songs, one upside here though that did catch my ear, actually upon 1st listen, was the absolutely well thought out guitar structures of the guitarist, while not out and out flashy, he doesn't jerk off all over the place with his guitar, he lets go in the solos, just enough to show his prowess, but absolutely NO!! showing off, kind of wish he had shown off, but the production really fucks the guitars, just an OK disc, with less then stellar songs. |
