Girls Girls Girls is the best video ever. I'll never get sick of seeing it. This cd rocked from beginning to end. You're all I Need is an awesome song, but the video is even better. Nikki Sixx is probably one of the best song writers ever. Totally a 10

This album kicks ass. There is nothing like partying and cranking up Girls, Girls Girls or sumthin for nuthin, hell evry song is intense, its all about rockin out with your friends and having fun and thats what the Crue know how to do. And Thers nuthin better than drivin down to a strip club and playing crue while getting drunk, and getting ready for having a wild night,i hope you guys are animals like me because "Lifes a party so live it up" Motley Crue Style"

In my days as a schoolboy "Girls Girls Girls" was the first Motley Crue song I heard and after hearing I remember I had rushed into the music-stores to hold all of their albums. And so this became the first sleazy'n'nasty record I had. Yeah, this animal-album is the anthem of those sleazzzzy late 80s. If you don't have you miss a lot...

Hi Group. This is not about Motley, but about the band Mothers Finest. I just rediscovered a cd by them called 'Black Radio Wont Play This Record' Damn its good. Its hard rock at its finest. Very recomendable in every way. Good heavy tracks, good guitarplaying. This is the only MF I hav. can anyone recommend any other releases.?? This is awesome.

From: rising power Date: March 24, 2003 at 3:32
Motley Crue is the living proof that you don't have to sacrifice your sound to commercialism. They've kept there bone-crunching heavy guitare sound and never gone poppy like Ratt,Poison,Quiet Riot or even W.A.S.P. The sound of Girls... is even heavier than that of Manowars Fighting the world. You just sometimes wonder were Mick Mars gets that cutting sound from.

From: BYRDMAN69 Date: May 15, 2003 at 15:24
OKAY, NOW WERE TALKIN.........THIS IS A VERY GOOD DISC! AFTER A DECLINE WITH THEATRE OF PAIN, THEY CAME BACK STRONG. LOADS OF ENERGY AND CRISP, CLEAN SOUND MAKE THIS A WINNER. "KICKIN ASS ON THE WILD SIDE",WHAT MORE TO SAY? IN CASE YOUR FROM SOME OTHER PLANET, AND SOMEHOW NEVER LISTENED TO "GIRLS,GIRLS,GIRLS",GET OFF YOUR ASS AND BUY A COPY......YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

From: Alejandro Date: May 15, 2003 at 15:47

Rising power - come on, Fighting the World is one of the lightest songs of Manowar. Mötley Crüe could never match the sound of Manowar at it´s heaviest. Take songs like "Wheels of Fire", "Hail and Kill" or "Sign of the Hammer" for example, and you see what I mean. Anyway, there´s no need to compare. I think Mötley Crüe is a better band than Manowar in general, and this is a major album! Really, really great.

From: Motley Date: August 24, 2003 at 16:14
Vicrock, dont they do nuclear bomb testing in your country? I think so since you can write so immature sentences about this album..

From: Edward Date: October 1, 2003 at 12:40
Great album, not the best but great. The songs' highlight on this one are the first 2 songs WILD SIDE and GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS. I like the ballad too YOU'RE ALL I NEED. Is that a ballad? Because the lyrics are about a man who kills a girl so she stays with him forever. Very sick in my opinion. But the rythm is cool. And the video for GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS, what a video! COOL! I love women dancing half naked. No, make it women dancing TOTALLY NAKED... WOOOOOHOOOOO YEAHHHHHH!!!!!!! Bring back the 80s!!

From: tomcat Date: October 1, 2003 at 12:50
i don't miss the 80's cos missing something is a waste of time..anyhow, i luv motley crue since i discovered them in 1985 and my favorite song on this album is 'all in the name of rock n roll'.. not my favorite crue album to be honest because of the 'jailhouse rock' version (but i like the original)

Anyone have the Re-issue of this CD - Looking for feedback on the bonus song "Rodeo" which was previously unreleased. Thanks for your time and comments. Rock on!

From: Great Dane Date: October 2, 2003 at 16:03
Hi Mike. Well. I have it. its Hmmmm fun listening to, but dont 'borrow' the money in the bank to get this track. Its ok, but not OK. But then again, all early stuff from this band is worth getting.

From: Edward Date: October 3, 2003 at 10:48
Yeah, I also have the re-released version. That includes WILD SIDE and GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS the instrumental version. RODEO (I love that song!) NONA the demo version. The re-released version rocks!

From: diego metal Date: October 12, 2003 at 23:50

From: Dusty Date: October 21, 2003 at 5:25
you should get the re-re-released version, the one on the hip-o label, it has a kick ass live version of All in the name of... (the one from the "make a difference foundation" festival in Moscow)

From: Stich Date: November 26, 2003 at 5:54
Next to 'Shout' this is a close second in my book. The whole album is really raw and ratty!! Very classic Crue!! A definite must have for any one who likes 80's metal/sleaze rock!!!!

I simply don't agree with the majority here. I loved the first two albums and Theater of pain was just decent. I remember the hype that the Crue were going back to their old style and they ditched the Theater outfits. I bought this the day it came out and could not believe just how lame and dull it was. There's nothing there, no edge. This album came out and the jocks thought Motley Crue was cool. The same people that hated Shout at the devil thought album was great and were wearing Motley Crue

From: Dusty Date: February 15, 2004 at 14:51
Hell, every Mötley album sounds different, and most of them are very good, especialy the 80s albums. I think this is my favorite one, although that changes from time to time (right now, it's my favorite!) No edge you say?? More edge than this you wont find with the Crüe, this truly rocks the crap out of everything!! (btw i shout is great and this one is great, so you can flush your last statement thru the toilet)

From: Knuckles Date: February 16, 2004 at 9:41
Have to agree with Red somewhat on this.Even though there were a couple of good songs on here,it just didnt hit me like the first 2.In the first 2,they didnt give a shite on if you bought thier album or not.No record company pressure,no radio pressure. They needed a hit or they dont have a deal so they did the ever dangerous, smokin in the boys room followed up by the cheesy GIRLS GIRLS GIRLS.

From: jack Date: March 23, 2004 at 3:31
every song in the album is great but rodeo is the best:the voice, guitar riff and rhythm. unreleased in this album but you can get the song in the remastered 'girl, girl, girl' album

From: JACK Date: March 25, 2004 at 6:19
NOT THE BEST EVER CRUE ALBUM BUT MOTLEY ARE CERTAINLY BETTER THAN CRAP NU-METAL BAND LIKE KORN AND LINKIN PARK. NOT TO MENTION RUBBISH GRUNGE BAND LIKE NIRVANA. OH.. IJUST HATE NIRVANA ,RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DOWNFALL OF METAL ESPECIALLY GLAM METAL IN THE EARLY 90'S.

UN ALBUM MUY FLOJO, NADA QUE VER CON EL ANTERIOR MOTLEY CRUE,EN MI OPINION, SOLO SE SALVA LA BALADA You're All I Need, QUE ES BASTANTE BUENA..

From: SLAYER_FAN Date: April 23, 2004 at 5:02
GREAT ALBUM! MORE SLEAZY AND BETTER THAN THE T.O.P ALBUM WITH PRACTICALLY EVERY SONGS I LIKE ESPECIALLY THE PLAYFUL GIRLS,GIRLS,GIRLS, THE ROCKIN ALL IN THE NAME... AND THE PSYCHO BALLAD YOU'RE ALL I NEED. RODEO(BETTER THAN HOME SWEET HOME) IS ALSO A MASTERPIECE WITH BOMBASTIC DRUM AND BASS AND GREAT GUITAR RIFF. THIS ALBUM BY RIGHT, SHOULD TOP THE CHART AND SELL MORE COPIES THAN HYSTERIA WHICH I CONSIDER GOOD BUT NOT METAL ENOUGH.

From: SUPERFISH Date: May 7, 2004 at 17:16
LAME LAME LAME. These guys are jokers. An MTV band, for sure.

From: tallboy Date: May 8, 2004 at 22:19
This is what late 80's rock was all about. No pretenses, no deep or meaningful lyrics, it wont change your life, It's just big drums, riffing guitars and plodding bass. Put a beer in your hand and blast the 3 opening tracks. FUCKING EXCELLENT!!!!!!!

From: sinnerboy Date: May 12, 2004 at 21:44
one of my favorite cd's from the crue. Just like before when everyone started copying thier look back in the "shout" days they switched it up and went glam. Then everyone went glam and crue went street. They were trend setters. the sound track of my life.

From: jack Date: May 14, 2004 at 5:04
I have personally listen to almost every one of motley crue, cinderella, ratt, europe, dokken, bon jovi,w.a.s.p,skid row,G'n'R,JUDAS PRIEST,van halen, warrant, poison, white lion, aerosmith, faster pussycat, pretty boy floyd, winger, scorpion, quiet riot, lita ford, tesla, great white, whitesnake, kiss and def leppard's 80's and early 90's album. Overall, cinderella is my favourite(i've listen to their songs since i was in year5 and still like em) but motley crue perhaps produce the best album overally of all.

From: jack Date: May 14, 2004 at 5:14
All of those ilustrious band i've name is good but comparing each other in music wise(image discluded), for me warrant and white lion is the worst!!Anyway ,almost all the songs in this album is great(as usual) except dancing on glass where there is a horrible, terrible, vegetable women voice in the end part of the song. Hope they don't include much of that in the future!p.s i wonder is that a women or vince's voice in rodeo's(song 13,unreleaed track) chorus?

From: Rockhead Date: May 14, 2004 at 5:25
Jack-It is pointless to keep listing band names!! We ALL know these bands and we ALL own these Cd's-If you have nothing constructive to say and you can't stop repeating yourself-please STOP!! I appreciate you have a collection of 80's and 90's mainstream rock-WE ALL HAVE!! you state nothing but the obvious again and again and again-take your topics to the message boards PERLEASE!!

From: jack Date: May 18, 2004 at 6:49
Sorry Rockhead,i didn't mean to boast about how i listen to all of the 80's hard rock/metal band which i hve no intention of that but i just want to point out how good this album is and how great motley crue are and how much i like them. I just want to say that i've never disappointed in any of their cd(just like the case with cinderella)and it brings me such 'fun' and 'energy' every time i listen to their music.

From: Rockhead Date: May 18, 2004 at 7:01
Hey Jack-no apology required!! You DOn't have to labour the same points over and over and over again-we get the message. Asm previously stated 99.9% of everyone on this site will own the albums you write about. You are preaching to the converted.

Another poor album, but this one is stronger than Theater was. I was never a fan of the song "Wildside", instead preferring tracks such as the title track, "Dacing On Glass", and "Nona". Once again too much filler. 5/10

From: jack Date: July 19, 2004 at 6:06
Big Papa K,girls-poor album? this album is quadruple platinum and is not only one of the best selling metal album but also 'normal' album in the 80's.Its the first metal album to shot straight to the chart upon release. The last metal album to do that was,let me see, yes, ithink thatwas led zeppelin 2.correct me if i'm wrong which is not very surprising. seeing many of your comments on heavy harmonies, i can say your knowledge on many of the album is abundent and impressive.

From: jack Date: July 19, 2004 at 6:08
Your music taste is also as good as your knowledge with the exception being the case here! Sorry, but this album may not be the best but it will NEVER be poor!

From: Big Papa K Date: July 20, 2004 at 1:32
Jack, please do not use the sales figure arguement. By that account, then Britney Spears and Linkin Park are the best bands in the world and groups like Pink Cream 69 and Harem Scarem are terrible because they are not on the top 100 charts. As for metal albums being number one before this, Quiet Riot "Metal Health" was #1 in 83 or 84 and Van Halen was number one a couple times as well.

From: jack Date: July 21, 2004 at 5:09
Big Papa K,metal health and van halen 1 did manage to chart at no.1 but it took some time to get there after theyare release while girls like LZ 2 shot straught through the chart relentlessly upon release. But i do agree with u that sales does not really signify the quality of the album. But pink cream and that harlem band is still terrible but this album still rocks!

From: Big Papa K Date: July 23, 2004 at 18:17
Have you even heard of the two bands I mentioned Jack? I doubt it since you did not even bother to spell Harem Scarem correctly. If you like hard rock you really should check out these two artists.

From: jack Date: August 16, 2004 at 5:40
Harem Scarem? Sure,i've heard about them. They are an AOR band right? Man,at first i thought they were some kinda heavy metal band by looking at their images and looks during their early days and i bought one of that album and it turn out to be aor. Damn, waste of my money!

From: TIM (2) Date: August 16, 2004 at 5:44
Jack, how on earth do you love Winger but find Harem Scarem "too AOR" for you? H.S are by far the heavier band of the two. When you buy an album why don't you try taking it out the wrapper and playing it?

From: Geoff Date: August 16, 2004 at 20:16
Patchy album, this one, but I still love it. How can you not?! The title track, 'Wild side' and 'You're all I need' are three of the coolest tracks to ever come out out of the 80's. Awesome stuff. 7/10

From: jack Date: September 7, 2004 at 4:38
I'm more into hair metal or heavy metal or hard rock side-Not too heavy like death/black metal although i love some speed metal bands like overkill, anthrax or slayer(but i just hate megadeth and metallica) or too aor. I take out the wrapper the minute a bought any disc every time of course. TIM(2)-i don't have the exact reason but i find winger a bit more into hair metal side while harem scarem more AOR(sorry!). When i listen to winger,i always think of europe, night ranger, white lion or

From: jack Date: September 7, 2004 at 4:40

A Punk Rock Junkie(Sixx), a blues man(Mars), a rythmic monster(Lee) and an instict singer allied to produce an album that uses individually all elements. Evolution for the band that brings them to the elite. Mick Mars makes a statement for the first time in a motley record creating rythmically driven riffs with a touch of his blues roots especially in the title track. What makes Mars playing special is his perfect lock with Lee's drumming leading to an interesting syncopation in each song.

From: manos Date: September 24, 2004 at 15:47
(continue) What I don't like in this record? practically nothing! Top Notch! Except of the extremmely polished production that is too trebly to match Mars's heavy rock/blues riffs

Other than "Girls, Girls, Girls" and "Wild Side" this is indeed pretty lame, generic hard rock. Definitely NOT what we've come to expect from Crue. Lame stuff that just goes nowhere. The two songs I mentioned can be gotten on any of the Hits packages so let this die a slow death.

Excellent "back to their roots" jaunt from the Crue. Nuff said.

All in the name of...

Horrible!!! The most overrated album in the Crue catalog!! Tommy Lee's drums sound like crap, and the songs are very cliched....stick with the first three cds for better Crue!!

From: Beikes Date: September 13, 2005 at 2:49
Well, this proves that even though totally wasted on drugs, they were able to make one hell of a masterpiece! So brilliant musicians, and Nikke composing some of his greatest tunes ever. 10/10

From: Beikes Date: September 13, 2005 at 2:55
loudashell05: WTF are you talking about? Tommy performs the greates creative drumming on this one. This is probably the album where Tommy Lee proves to be one of the top 3 drummers in the world, of all time! Maybe you're just pissed because it's so dificult to replicate? Mmm?

Motley will always be one of my favorite bands. This cd has some good songs but nothing as cool as the first three. They sound tired and it was clear that the excess was taking its toll on the songwriting. Still some great songs but for me a 7/10.

GGG is the first album I've ever bough myself (with my own money) when I Was 14. I soon became a HUGE Motley fan, and still i am. Now years later I recognize that although "Wild Side" (killer riff!!)and the title track are superb rock classics, the rest of the songs aren't as brilliant as the first two his album is not as consistent overall as "Shout..." or "Dr Feelgood".

From: Rafo Phoenix Date: September 17, 2007 at 12:56

Oh God, this CD will make a new Crue listener cream his pants! NO BAD SONGS ON THIS ONE! How strange for the Crue. NOT! 1. Wild Side- 11/10. Kicks ass, end of story. 2. Girls Girls Girls- 10/10. Kicks ass. This is such a huge anthem in rock n' roll history it gives me goosebumps! 3. Dancing On Glass- 10/10. Should've been a bigger hit, it's just as good as Wild Side. 4. Bad Boy Boogie- 9/10. Nice groovy song. Nice little story in the lyrics lol. Vince sounds badass in this song! 5. Nona- 10/10. Don't know why I'm giving it a 10, nothing truly spectacular about it except that Sixx wrote it for his recently deceased grandmother. Nice little fun fact for you! 6. Five Years Dead- 10/10. Cool song, really liked it. Good chord structure! 7. All In The Name Of- 11/10. I REALLY like this song. Brings out the sleaze in the Crue! "I say, legal never did my thing!" 8. Somethin' For Nothin'- 10/10. Just a great song! 9. You're All I Need- 10/10. Kinda creepy song if you listen to it...

From: PC Rocker Date: June 27, 2008 at 12:01
CONTINUED Jailhouse Rock (Live)- 9/10. Very random, and, IMO, unnecessary addition to the album. "You're All I Need" would have been a great note on which to end this CD, but hey, you can't go wrong with Elvis! Actually, I don't really like Elvis, but this song's pretty good. Still... OK, on the remastered CD... There are instrumental versions of the big dicks: Girls Girls Girls, Wild Side, and Nona (not a big dick); a LIVE version of All In The Name Of; and an unreleased track mentioned earlier called Rodeo. I won't rate the instrumental tracks. All In The Name Of LIVE- 10/10. JUST AS GOOD LIVE. Rodeo- 11/10. This song was originally on the album for a while, but in the end, they decided to take it off. I DON'T KNOW WHY!! THIS SONG IS INCREDIBLE!!! A power ballad which you CANNOT GO WRONG WITH. Girls Girls Girls album- 10/10. The Crue's best so far, great variety of songs, varying lyrical themes. It was in this album that I discovered what an amazing songwriter Sixx is.BUY!

man motley had it in spades in the 80's they just made great rock simple as that wild side, the title track, dancing on glass, five years dead, you're all i need and all in the name of what more can you say

my second fav. album by crue. better sound here and well production. my faves: girls, girls, wild side, all in the name and you're all I need.

From: metalmaniac777 Date: February 13, 2011 at 10:18
This motley crew of hair metal hellraisers were really clicking on this album and the result was an undisputed hard rock classic. This is the '80s, through & through, drenched in debauchery and packed with a hodgepodge of hooks. If you're craving a CD that reeks oh so sweetly of girls, guitars, and sweat-soaked leather, then this one will hit you right in the sweet spot.

From: juan carlos Date: February 14, 2011 at 13:57
"Wild Side" is the best track here.. i'm not a big fan of Motley but it's a great band inded.. Wild Side!! 8/10

From: edwithmj Date: November 3, 2011 at 20:53
An outstanding release by Motley Crue. You're All I Need is a surprising ballad and a very good one too while rockers such as Girls Girls Girls, Dancing On Glass and Five Years Dead make this a winner.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: October 11, 2015 at 13:06
This is a decent album and that's it IMHO...maybe for some people this might be a classic or whatever but being objective the songs are quite standart ones..."Wild Side","Girls Girls Girls" & the nice "You're All I Need" are by far the best cuts...tracks 7,8 & 10(is it a cover?)are ok ones if i have to say something else...84/100

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: October 12, 2015 at 11:05
An uneven album by the band's own admission. Nikki was more interested in ingesting heroin through any and every hole available than in writing a full album's worth of quality songs. I actually like the SOUND of the album: Tommy's drums pound right into your head, Vince is at his nastiest, and mick's guitars have a cool, grinding tone. "Wild Side" is probably my favorite Crue song from any album, and the sound effects on the fadeout really accent the nightmare world being described. Other good ones are the (overplayed) title track, "Dancin' On Glass," "Five Years Dead" "All In The Name Of Rock" and the deceptively sweet "You're All I Need," disguising murderous lyrics. Trouble is, they (Nikki) only wrote eight songs, so they padded it with the throwaway "Nona" and a live Elvis cover, performed so badly (especially by Vince) that it's barely recognizable.

From: titothetitan Date: April 19, 2017 at 12:37
Another more of-the-same-boring album by Motley Crue. I can't get into the songs. I don't like the the vocals either, although in "You're All I Need" he sounds nice. Only a few songs are worth listening, the rest is pure garbage as their other albuns are.
