TOYZ is a french Hard Rock/AOR band who have made an excellent CD. If you like strongs & melodic songs, this CD is for you !! |

I'm afraid I have to say that this CD is at best third rate AOR, or even not that close ! Worst release on Escape, normally a quality label, ever ! These guys still have to learn a lot. They better should listen how the americans and canadians did and still do it ! This release on CD came too early. |

What a realease ! I wait for the second opus.... |
From: justine | Date: February 12, 2005 at 19:52 |
thanks to escape for discovering this great group.their first french one. Toyz have a style of their own, which is a breath of fresh air in hard rock these days. For a first shot, it is a real good one. when comes the live show? |

Wake up now and open your ears. TOYZ "House of Cards" is the best LP of Hard Rock/AOR at this moment. It's not a surprise for me, because i was lucky to see this Parisian team in live at different times before this perfect production. Waiting for the next album, i have a special attention to the song "Big Ice Creams" that i love. Best wishes and a BIG RESPECT. (have someone a pill of Prosac to give to the poor guy "AOR freaky" ?) |

I don't need Prozac, Fifisto, but you are French and that tells everything ! This is a bad record and these guys can learn a lot from their american and canadian mates ! But yeah, the French still think that they dominate the world, ha ha ha ! How painfull ! |
From: jules | Date: February 21, 2005 at 18:10 |
no need to dominate the world to play good music. I like this cd very much myself, especialy "she's a star" |

This is a nice piece of aor...nothing outstanding or to die for but tracks like She's A Star or One Step To Hell are worth checking out... |

Things don't get off to a very good start on this, especially the vocals which are pretty badly accented on the first track, but they do get better as the disc goes on and you get used to them. The material is a little patchy throughout, although just as I was losing interest, track 6, 'One Step To Hell' kicks in - Awesome song - Great chorus, Nice Keys and a simple but effective solo. Over all what I would describe as a 'B'List' AOR disc and certainly not essential listening by any means, altho |

very average release for TOYZ from France and it seems that these guys dont know how to rock ,but they only enjoy to play together!Especially the keyboard player and the singer are quite bad !No real hooks or interesting ideas and only the guitar solos are remarkable!the worst Escape release and pretty average |
