Of the three NP albums, this is my favorite, narrowly beating out Say Somethin' Nasty. This is where teh AC/DC influences actually begin. The songs are more hard-rock and less punk, and generally tend to have actual RIFFS instead of noise like on LTEP. BLaine even sings in places, or at least, sorta mewls melodically. Nearly every song is a highlight of some kind, with the possible exception of "Piece of Ass." The Fizz Picks: Tracks 1, 3, 4, 6, 8 (love the lyrics!), 9 and 12. 9.0/10 |

I gave it an 88, adn although it usually goes without saying, I want to stress that's totally my opinion. I realize this an album that a lot of people are not going to like, even hate. This is NOT AOR, there are no pretty melodies, no harmonies, no keyboards. But what'd you expect. It's a rough, raw, potent cocktail of cowpunk, blues, boogie-metal and straight-up hard rock, kinda like Jackyl meets Motorhead. It's a big improvement over the first album, though, with less of a hardcore/psychobilly influence and somewhat more variety in the vocals. You can actually understand some of the lyrics, adn there are plenty of hooks and cool (but mostly fast) grooves. For some reason, this record grabbed me right from the start. My favorites are "Struttin' Cock," "Drive," adn the psycho murder ballad "Go To Hell." |

Great album indeed!!!... raunchy, raw, punk, metal and all the edgy adjectives you can think of are resumed here!!!!...this album just kicks heads off and the guy above (Doghouse Reilly)said it all.If you like Motorhead,Ramones,Jackyl and even ZZ Top (some songs have this southern kinda sound)then buy this with your eyes closed.85/100 |
