Killer debut EP from this new British band. They have a vibe to them that recalls a lot of the early 90's blues-based 'hair' bands, such as Sister Whiskey, Tattoo Rodeo etc. The first track, Roadstar is the stand-out on the record, but the whole package is full of great guitar and upbeat hard-rockin. Fans of Silvertide will like these guys, but also fans of any of the aforementioned bands I stated before will undoubtedly love them too. Check out the samples on their site. 8/10 |

Heard a tune from this the other day on one of the BWBK streams. Pretty decent, and reminded me of Junkyard, actually. |

If the Black Crowes would have been more a rockin' hair band they would have sounded exactly like this. The previous comparisions to Sister Whiskey and Junkyard combined with some of the newer garage bands like Jet also give you a good idea where these guys are at. Very cool for a 2004 release by a young band. |

All right, I heard another tune from this. I need to get ahold of it. I do wonder, however, with the cartoony names of the band members, and a song with a name like "Big Rock Show," if they might be doing a little bit of an "ironic", Darkness-style "putting-on" act. Which would be disappointing. |

I love this... I don't think they're putting on an act, and even if they are, it still rocks. |

Just when you start getting into the music, it ends. Too short (I know its an EP) as I am left wanting more. I guess I have been playing this disk back to back with the Silvertide disk. They seem to go together pretty well. While it does only have five songs, its worth checking out. |

I finally got ahold of this, so I can now officially comment upon it. A VERY good start for a young band (and from what I read on their site, they're not pretending). The first two songs are the best still, but all are at least decent. They kinda go in descending order of quality, come to think of it. And for some reason, the singer's voice makes me think of an old-timey female country singer, I don't know why. |

Excellent debut EP. that leaves me in anticipation for the full album proper (coming soon). 'Roadster' is definately the stand out on this - great track. The vocalist has the Steve Tyler thing going on, with Aerosmith being a good comparison in places. A promising debut. |

'roadstar' is indeed a excellent song...also "killer" is a cool rockin' tune...promising band |

Really promising debut E.P. which bodes well for the imminent album release. Roadstar is a mammoth of a song ... my little 2 year old lad loves it and has the old air guitar down to pat! The rest of the songs are cool too! They seem a pretty credible bunch a million miles away from the Darkness camp style (although I quite like the Darkness too...given a few folk a kick up the bum!), and they seem to have a more earthy solid style to their pallette. Definate ones to watch..which I will be 4 sure |

Hurricane Party have now changed their name to 'Roadster' and the debut album 'Grand Hotel' is out end of May. For people in the UK, limited advance copies are avaliable at http://www.myspace.com/roadstarband. Got mine this morning with no probs whatsoever, so order with confidence. |
