Took a few whirls to get in to this one but it was worth it. Not as accessible and hook laden as their previous albums but still a really good comeback from one of hard rock's finest. A little heavier, with a more modern production, this is still the band we all know and love. Welcome back guys!

Ain't got the CD yet, but I will be picking it up very soon. I have heard a few of the tunes and I like what I've heard so far. I got my tickets for this Friday's show (March 12th) and I can't wait to see 'em again! I'll have to pick up the disc either tomorrow or Thursday, I've got to have it before the gig.

Third rate release from this once great hardrock act ! This is a bad comeback ! Gone is the classic hardrocksound, in are a lot of modern influences, distorted voices and other nonsense ! No, this is a bloody bad record, noth worth the name of the once mighty Tesla ! It's over and out for Tesla ! AVOID !!!

Excellant cd. Even though there are a lot of newer sounds on this one, it still has that tesla sound to it. I think that this is what tesla tried to do with bust a nut. Into the now is where Tesla should be.

This album is awesome. Doesn't really sound like anything they've done before, but that's cool because a good song is a good song. If you didn't like Bar 7, you won't like this. The guitars, drums and overall production are TOP notch. And since they're selling out this current tour again, I'd hardly call them over and out. These songs, especially the title track, 'Look @ Me', 'What A Shame' & 'Got No Glory' will be awesome live.

Great CD from beginning to end. Ignore Freddy's ignorance and listen to the others who have commented. The cd rocks a little more than most Tesla cd's. The choruses will grab you and have you singing along. Good solid cd all around.

QUITE surprised the first few times I listened to this...much heavier than the Tesla I was used to......but it REALLY grew on me!! Love the scream at the beginning of 'Got No Glory'.....absolutely LOVE 'Caught In A Dream' .....and 'Into The Now' is really great too. Only thing I can't / WON'T get used to is that dang electronic voice thing.

Tesla have put together a disc that is harder edged than any of their previous releases,yet doesn't cross the line into the dreaded 'nu-breed' area.The crisp,modern production combined with memorable choruses & outstanding instrumentation makes for,IMO,a very good release.'Into the Now','Words Can't Explain','Caught in a Dream',& 'Mighty Mouse' are my personal faves here.If you're looking for Mech. Resonance 2,you may be disappointed,but if you don't mind an updated Tesla,you just might like it

Some people are not honest, Rick ! This Tesla is a nu-metal act, no longer a classic hardrock band ! Facts are facts ! If you like nu-metal or alternative stuff, this could be for you, but don't say my opinion is wrong ! I hate band changing their sound to jump on the modern bandwagon. I have no respect for such acts at all : and this is a total nu-metal CD, and a bad one !

To be HONEST Freak, I love this cd. If I want to listen to what Tesla sounded like in the 80's, I'll listen to one of their earlier cd's. They have matured and so has their sound. It's not nu-metal, it's not alternative, it's just plain old rock. It actually took a couple of spins to get into it, but since then I have played it almost non-stop. Maybe you need to give it a couple more spins too. I don't think their sound changed so much, they just got a little harder. To each their own!

AOR Freaky, 'Into The Now' sounds nothing like Linkin Park, Puddle Of Mudd or even the more mainstream hard pop of today like Creed or Nickelback. You're not listening if you hear the same sounds. Tesla still has the same vocals, guitars and most importantly strong songs which a lot of today's bands don't. There isn't a guitarist in any of the nu-metal acts you name that could even play Tommy's guitar parts on this record let alone Frank's.

Absolutely awesome CD! I love the TESLA of old and yes this is a new direction for them, but this is the Tesla we know and love. All the classic trademarks are there just hidden behind a modern production and tuned down guitars. The CD opens with four of the best tracks they have ever recorded and never really lets up. The major commercial highlight would have to be COME TO ME. I cannot stop singing the chorus with my 2 guitar heroes trading their electric/acoustic riffs throughout! A MUST HAVE

This is a really good return for Tesla. Some would say this album has a more 'modern day' sound to it, but the more I listen to it, the more I think it just Tesla doing what they do best, and that's making rock and roll music. I saw them live on tour for this album, it's the fourth time I've seen them over all, and once again they put on one hell of a great show.

I got this yesterday. I REALLY want to like it, but I'm having trouble. THe songs are generally much slower and none of them seem to really break out with strong riffs. The choruses so far haven't stuck with me, and I know goddamn well Tommy and Frank can both play better solos than this. Also, Jeff's voice continues to deteriorate, as he pretty much stays in the same tone for much of the record. Sounds like a mix of Tesla and Saliva. Tesliva, if you will.

The Fizz Picks: 'Into the Now' (good song, minus the Tom Morello guitar effect in the middle); 'What a Shame' (easily the most hook-y song here); 'Caught In a Dream' (good song, HORRIBLE, nasueating lyrics--I hate when this band tries to save the world!); 'Miles Away' and 'Come to Me' (best ballad here). 'Got No GLory' and 'Look At Me' are near-misses as well.

Awww....I have to disagree with the 'horrible, nauseating lyrics' in 'Caught In A Dream'...I LOVE the chorus of that...I don't really think of it as trying to save the world. I just apply it to my own life, and how I'm caught up in something that's impossible....but it's MY dream now... But that's the cool thing about music..it's SO open to personal interpretation..

Fizz, that is the irony of the whole song I think. While the lyrics may seem gay in that song (otherwise, the album is fantastic), and I found that line to be a little lame (despite the melody singing it bgeing ultra-catchy), it is SUPPOSSED to be that way. If you can imagine the world being a beautiful place, everybody loving each other...........................BS, pure BS. Isn't it ironic, don't you think? (Sorry, had to make that last comment )

This album rocks. The melodies throughout ans the guitar interplays and arpeggios are top-notch.The ballads are classy as usual, and the rockers are modern rockers with the Tesla touch all over them. I have never heard an album from an 80's band (and believe me, I have ehard plenty of them) that incorporates a more modern production to a signature sound without screwing up or trying to hard.....

.....Tesla have nailed the combination perfectly and the album should do very well if the right push is given to it. The only thing missing perhaps is a couple more great guitar solos, but otherwise it is a flawless album. The 'sad energy' from Only You send shivers down your spine. the line in 'Miles Away' about a friend dying today does that also.

I dunno, Max. I never pictured Tesla as much of a band for irony. As for the other lyrics on them, I'm tickled, for personal reasons, because somebody out there is going to be reminded of me an awful lot while listening. Otherwise, I can't rate this higher than a 7. That's my final offer. For beginners, this is NOT the place to start. I find one or two or three songs at a time may be the best way to listen to this. The real shame here is that they didn't NEED to 'update' their sound. If it ain't

Fizz, you are right, for beginners not even the Ultra awesome Bust a Nut is a place to start. they even showed progress from TGRC to Psychotic Supper, which was less 'glammy'. Not to say that Tesla were glammers, if anything that is what set them apart from the rest, their more bluesy pure hard rocking tones rather than the sleaze. However, Psychotic Supper was somehow heavier, less hard rocking more heavy rocking that TGRC or their debut.

I have to agree with some of the disappointment surrounding this release. Sounds like a band with too much time on their hands. Lyrics try too hard to be provacative, and therefore lack an essential ingredient: FUN. A wry wit is what made TESLA fun. ITTN sounds like whining to me. Musically, fine, change with the times, but lyrically, lighten up! Attended the MPLS show and they were awesome! Jeff Keith is turning into a fruitcake, but great show (and sold out). Tour with Van Halen?

I'm diggin' this! 'Caught In A Dream' will probably end up being the new 'sing-along' - maybe not as memorable as 'Love Song,' but memorable all the same. So far my favorite here is 'What A Shame.' Nice to see that they haven't wandered too far from their original sound!

This was worth the wait. Another great Tesla album. Quite possibly the best album from an 80's hard rock band to be released in this millenium so far(close 2nd would be LA Guns - 'Waking the Dead'). Blows away anything Poison, Def Leppard, or Bon Jovi have done in recent years in my opinion.

What a fuckin' comeback.Tesla still exist to remind us the original hard rock playin.The production is excellent and the guitar playin kicks ass once again.'What a shame' is a perfect song, near to Tesla's old style.The whole album is a little bit heavier but this is good.I think the sound is somewhere between the old & new generation.Bye it or Die. This is a great CD, before i got it, i had also never heard 'Bust a Nut' which I also think is a good CD, 'Into the Now' isn't like the first 2-3 CD's, but that was a different time too, they haven't changed that much, still the same guys, standout track son this CD are 'What a Shame', 'caught in a dream'...the rest are also good, butu these two are my favs, I think 'what a shame' will be there next release!!...Get it, it's worth it...not too much to pick from, is you are an 80's fan these days!

The problem for some people is when they hear a band from the past that has updated their sound on a new album it is immediately dismissed as 'no good' without even giving it a chance. What makes this album standout out is that the songwriting is excellent, the production is top notch and the songs themselves are great to listen too. Also nice to hear Jeff's voice sounds just as strong as ever.

Some want that I give some comment on this one ! What more can I say ! This is another, modern Tesla, that I really dislike ! It's alternative stuff, modern and not classic hardrock. Tesla was a great hardrock band, now they've jumped on the modern bandwagon to try to sound cool and acceptable for the young kids ! A shame ! Best hardrockact of the USA ! Forget it : Legs Diamond and Y&T are much, much better ! They wipe the floor with these guys any day ! Tesla is over, like Aerosmith !

I really like this album. In my opinion it shows progression with out departing from their classic sound. It will get no radio play because of course they are Tesla and they are a hair band. However I do think they could pick up some younger listeners if radio would give it a chance. I don't find most of the above comments (neg & Pos) wrong just a matter of oppinion. I say if you like Tesla get it! And listen to it a few times it catches on, at least it did with me.

Nu-metal? Give me a break! Yes, the sound isn't quite classic Tesla (if that's what you're looking for, pick up the Bar 7 CD of a few years ago), but it's 100 miles from being nu-metal. If anything, they did a heck of a job of updating their sound and still being Tesla.

Excellent, name-calling always helps to get your opinion across. I'm not actually a big fan of this either, I loved the early albums and have really tried to get into this but the gruff vocals and raw-sounding riffs that I loved are gone. The album title is very appropriate, and I don't mind bands updating their sound as long as the keep the basics that made them great in the first place....

Their heaviest album by far. But the riffs are not as good as before and the solos that we were used to by Hannon and Skeoch are in little supply here. Tesla did not forget to write great tunes, which are in plenty of supply here. 8/10

When a band tries to adapt their sound to the times(pressed by the record company as well)like Tesla do,keeping their attitude unchanged,you say that THEY SOUND NEW METAL.....When a band tries to sound like in the 80's choosing to follow the music standars of that period like Jaded Heart do for example,you say that the songs are all the same and they SHOULD TRY TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.....so do the right thing,come to an agreement and then let us know please,it's hard to please everybody!!!

me gustan algunas canciones,no estoy en contra de un cambio siempre y cuando mantengan su esencia pero aqui para mi gusto es un poco repetitivo en las canciones y en los riff faltandole un poco mas de sentimiento a las canciones excepto por supuesto en las baladas. prefiero los dos primeros discos. Cambios pueden ser pero por favor metallica no es nada a lo que era antes. Espero que en el siguiente vuelvan los buenos riffs y canciones mas pegadizasya que este es un poco dark.

I've only heard one song off this album so far, but 'Caught In A Dream' is definitely classic Tesla.

Forever behind the times, I've finally picked this up and hell, I like it! Jeff sounds great IMHO, and the band sounds tighter than ever. I guess there are a few modern influences but that don't bother me too much. Bottom line it's a real solid hard rock record with it's own voice rather than a voice from the past. But then what can you expect from the original 'Modern Day Cowboys'?

As a Tesla fan, one can only smile when this materpiece flies at you through the speakers. With the slightest modern influence in their songs, they come back sounding as good as the day they left us. Trademark riffs, killer vocals. This 100% Tesla, no doubt about it. There are many great songs, all in a traditional but not carbon copied style, but my fave has to be the mind blowing title track. Tracks 3-6 dazzle, as do most of them. Excellent album, but who'd expect anything else from Tesla!

Tesla sheds their traditional hard rock sound for a Nuwer Modern sounding record. With the exception of Mighty Mouse this record is a rocker, with no filler! While I like this record, I hope they go back to their signature sound the next time around. The fans like detours, but will always thank you for getting back to basics. I saw them open for the Scorpions a couple of months back & let me tell you, Tesla still has it & they deliver live. 8.5 rating for the record...

I love all the oppinions here. Everyone has a nice point. If you like this band then get this record. I don't think these guys can do wrong. This is a monumental guitar/rock album...All grooves and melodies and NO GUITAR SOLOS!!!!!! That takes discipline! I'm in all the way when it comes to Tesla, I respect and welcome all variety from these guys. I believe they could crank out a country/bluegrass record and it would knock the fillings right out of your teeth!!!!!

Puede parecer estratégico el mezclar mas temas 'modernos' con algunos que suenan a los Tesla de antaño, pues en mi humilde opinión no me convencen del todo. Muchos temas con aires 'modernones'. Algunos mejores que otros pero que definitivamente no dan la talla. Me quedo con los que suenan a los Tesla como la 3, 4, 6 10 y la 12. 7.5/10

Once my favorite band, but every CD has got progressively worse. No, I'm not expecting MR part 2. Would I love it? Yes. But times and people change. Still, what I find most disaappointing is Frank and Tommy's guitar work here. These guys are 2 of the most incredibly talented guitarists I've ever heard, but you wouldn't know it from this. I also miss Brian's piano work. Unlike TNT, PC69, or Shakra, listening to this makes me feel old, like I haven't changed with the times. Thanks alot guys...

Tesla pretty much continues the progression they started way back on Psychotic Supper, on through Bust A Nut and the Bar 7 album. This really sounds nothing like their first two albums, although you can tell it's the same band. The songs are mid-paced at best, the riffs are kinda generic, and the solos are few and far between. Jeff has about half the range he once did, there are only a few songs that are hard all the way through, and the fake drums, strings and that turntable effect are unnecessary from teh band that once made a point of using 'NO MACHINES!' But even with all that said, Tesla somehow pull the rabbit out of the hat and make it work, and get a decent album out of it. A far cry from their best work, and a 'grower,' but better than most, if not all, of their peers.

Agree with Doghouse Reilly's comment...an album that is not completely the Tesla we used to know...even though the songs have that particular 'touch' that identifies the band immediately...and obviously the voice of Mr Jeff Keith...'Into The Now' ,'What A Shame','Caught In A Dream'(nice),'Mighty Mouse','Recognize' & 'Only You'(nice acoustic track) are the highlights in here...acceptable if you like the 'modern sounds' in rock...otherwise buy their firsts albums...87/100

So ... you can tell from my comments on various Tesla albums, they're one of my all-time favorites, and maybe I hold them to a higher standard than your average band. I've always been conflicted on this release. On the one hand, I hear a band band playing well below their potential, but on the other, listening to it again this week, the songs are enjoyable for what they are, and some of Tesla's heaviest, but in a plodding, bottom-end way only. The real crime of the album is the addition of needless production tricks, like some weird processed guitar tones on a few solos and some of the vocals, and the drum machines (WHY?) 'Heaven Nine Eleven' would be an okay song, minus the drum machines, as it was originally a ballad (and written before 9/11, a reference added in unnecessarily after the fact). 'Caught In A Dream' probably has the best melody, but also the worst lyrics. My favorites: 'Look @ Me,' 'What A Shame,' 'Words Can't Explain,' 'Miles Away' and 'Got No GLory.' I guess you could

... file Into The Now along with Every Mother's Nightmare's post-2000 releases and L.A. Guns's Waking The Dead, as hair-era bands successfully adopting a more updated sound. Not my favorite Tesla album by any means, but good enough, and even does a few things better than the following Forever More. Perhaps the album's truest bit of emotion comes on the grief-stricken, acoustic closer 'Only You.'

The only song from Tesla 2.0 to make my Apple Music library is "Miles Away," which rises to a Bust A Nut level of ambition, unlike the vast majority of the band's other 21st-century output.
