I wasn't sure about this one at first, since I was always kinda lukewarm on Into The Now, and thsi is in that same style. But in the past week, I've come to really like Forever More. Jeff's voice sounds in better shape, for one thing, and there are more guitar solos and a few more uptempo songs. The melodies aren't as immediately catchy as in the old days, but they're there. It's just that Jeff's new limited range and the downtuning of the guitars changes the dynamic a bit. The production is not very good on thsi one, though. Bass is barely audible most of the time, and the lead guitar often sounds like it's being played through a phone. All in all, a good album, once you resign yourself to Tesla's new style. It just took me a long time to do that.

I agree with what Doghouse said except I hear an over abundance of bass even at half way on the knob, maybe his bass knob was turned down. The sound is modern but overall very good. The only problem is they lost their unique style, they now are starting to sound like everyone else. I hate that some bands feel they have to sell out to be liked. Sorry to say.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: October 24, 2008 at 2:18
I think that might be the down-tuned guitars more than the bass, Ninja. Check the begining of "Fallin' Apart." The bass just kinda pings away in the background, along with that weak-ass lead guitar sound. The hell? But I agree, with their new style, they've lost something, but I feel like this one might be a little less that way than Into The Now. Really, though, if you take all their albums in order, you can hear the progression to where they're at now, beginning somewhere around Bust A Nut, maybe a little on Psychotic Supper.

From: ninjapeter Date: October 24, 2008 at 7:18
Hi Doghouse, I now know what you meant, the down-tuned guitars cover up the bass and I agree with that. The weak-ass lead guitars are also covered up. A lot of bands are do that these days for sales. Yes it seems like they are trying to return to their older stuff on this one, yeah ! Bust a Nut probably was where it started but I found it their heaviest album and not too modern. I must admit that I do like Into The Now, just not as much as their other albums and this one is better.

Interesting opinions, Good New Tesla album but not great though. I prefer this one instead of "Into The Now" album. There are some great solos and good riffs."The First Time"(the best), "Just In Case"(a`la old Tesla), "Forever More", "Pvt. Ledbetter" are my faves. There are more uptempo songs and thatīs good in my opinion. Solid HardRock album. 8/10

Try and grab the Japanese bonus track, if you can. It's called "My Way," thanfully not a Sinatra (or Limp Bizkit) cover. It's another rocker, and helps to even out the slow-versus-fast ratio of the record. Good song all around as well.

Great Album. For sure the best they have done since Psychotic Supper. it good to see these guys pull an album together worth buying. Hopefully it wont take another 10 years for the next good album.

Not as cool as their 80ies stuff, but all in all a good one. I donīt need this modern sound things (like down tuned guitars, groovy base, voice disstortion, megaphones etc.) I like it pure and raw, and thats the way TESLA should play their music.

From: metalmastermusic Date: December 3, 2008 at 8:48
Not a bad release from these fella's. Not quite the classic sound they have been known for but they seem to have stretched a bit here which is usually either a doomsday or a blockbuster for most artists. They did not stray to far here to make it a doomsdy, but I agree with the muffled bass sound but all in all not a bad album.

tesla is afantastic band.they had always been heroes of the hard rock /hair metal music for a long time.this one doesnt have the quality of the old glory dayz but i must say that it rocks!i mean that frank hannon plays his solos excellent and keith has again his unique rough and sensual way of singing.there s no big hit in it but good solid (hard) rock music.i think its the worst release (as the into the now). we all love tesla but i m sure that everybody would prefer to hear the sound of the great radio controversy or the psychotic supper albums. why don't everybody say that loud n clear?

From: poser forever Date: June 4, 2009 at 18:03
Tesla is one of the best hair bands, with wreat releases over the years like "Bust A Nut" and "The Great Radio Contoversy".But unfortunately "Forever More" is very average. Of course we have the greats Jeff Keith and Frank Hannon but the songs are mediocre, the sound too modern and the feelings "zero". Sorry,it doesn't work for me.

WHY NO ONE HERE THE STRESSES THE SINGER OF THE BAND BAR7 TESLA ALSO SINGS AND THE ALBUM IS ALSO GREAT WITH IT IS!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 7, 2011 at 13:16
So I revisisted this one again. Got to say, sometimes this one clicks with me,a nd sometimes it doesn't. Totally aside from the fact that I'm a huge Tesla fan and want to give them the benefit of the doubt ... wel, my old fanboy review is still up there from when it first came out. Now I'm going to be brutally objective. A lot of the songs are sluggish and slow, and the faster ones seem uninspired and overly simplistic, with riffs that are so basic as to be little more than extensions of the bassline. Lyrics have an irritating group-hug, therapy-session feel to them, forced positivity. This is NOT the Tesla tha trecorded Great Radio Controversy or Psychotic Supper. Like I said two years ago, you have to resign yourself to that fact before you can really get into this record at all.

The most recent comment here is mine, but it's from 12 years ago, so fuck it, here I am again. Forever More is a frustrating album, as are all of Tesla's post-2000 releases to varying degrees. They hit on some pleasing melodies, like on "Just In Case," "Falling Apart," "Breakin' Free" and "The First Time." But others are just so predictable, which is not the same as being catchy. You can anticipate exactly where "I Wanna Live" and "One Day At A Time" are going the first time you hear them, and that also applies to some of the songs I just mentioned earlier. I mean, when you first hear Jeff sing "I don't care what you say," on "Breakin' Free," you just know the next line is "You better get out of my way." There are few surprises, lyrically or musically, and they are mostly unpleasant, like the detuned guitars to accommodate Jeff's diminished voice. Worst of all is "Dear Private Ledbetter," a maudlin pop-country tearjerker complete with a Jerry Clower-esque title, like something Alan Jac

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: March 22, 2023 at 11:24
... like something Alan Jackson would sing. In other words, gross. "Tonstant Weader fwowed up," as Dorothy Parker might say. And yet, amid all the bland affirmations lurks "In A Hole Again," with its descending chorus and that grinding riff in the middle. Something different, but not necessarily a great Tesla song. I dunno, this band has become so beige. It's like you told an AI program (beta version) to write 12 songs in the style of Tesla.
