If you notice that a particular The Georgia Satellites CD release or compilation is missing from the list above, please submit that CD using the CD submission page. The ultimate goal is to make the discographies here at Heavy Harmonies as complete as possible. Even if it is an obscure greatest-hits or live compilation CD, we want to add it to the site. EPs and CD-singles from The Georgia Satellites are also welcome to be added, as long as they are at least 4 songs in length.

As compilations go, this one's very thorough. Twenty tracks from a band who only put out three albums. This is over half their catalog right here. Can't argue with that, can ya? THe real question is the same one I asked on Black 'n Blue's Ultimate Collection, another 20-songcommp from a band with only a short career. And that question is this: do you even need this much Georgia Satellites in your life? Were they really that great a band to begin with? That's up to you. Their brand of southern rock was updated for the '80's, by way of the '60's (think the Stones and the Faces), stripped down with no long "Free Bird" style jams, but not as poppy and lightweight as 38 Special. Their onee hit was the fairly stupid "Keep Your Hands To Yourself," which every bar band, especially the country ones, knows how to play. Some good tunes and non-album tracks elsewhere, but again, how much Georgia Satellites do you need?
