| Unbelievable!!, I didn't think the L.A. Guns were capable of this kind of music nor have this type of ability. This is the L.A. Guns in full form, the music is straight out of the Sleaze/Hard rock era of the late 80's, early 90's but they have a more mature approach to their music. The hard rock album of the year and easily the L.A. Guns best release to date. Good job boyz!!

| I've been raving about this album ever since I got the promo copy of it back in July, a month before its actual release date. "Don't Look At Me That Way" goes down as THE song of 2002, & as best as I can tell, 'Waking The Dead' is the best RECORD of the year. The only tragic news about all of this, is as most of us already know, the future of the L.A. Guns is uncertain now. Phil & Tracii had a little bitch fight, so the band is split (without Tracii, at least). Too bad. So sad. Fucking bullshit.

| By the way, Keff Ratcliffe did not play on 'WTD' (check "Personnel"). Tracii and Keff are roommates, are any of you aware of that? Interestingly enough, ever since Guns left his own band, the L.A. GUNS, Keff is now out of the band, too. Out of respect of his fellow man? What? Chris Holmes (Wasp) and Brent Muscat (from Faster Pussycat & has also played on Phil's solo records) are the current replacements in the L.A. Guns line-up as of now. Will the Guns ever make another album again? Let's hope.

| I love this band, this is THE best rock CD of 2002 and possibly the best L.A. Guns CD yet. I'm sure Phil & Tracii will patch it up and I look forward to the next CD.

| It starts out damn near amazing, but for me, it lags a little bit after the middle or so, almost as if they're trying too hard to do another Cocked and Loaded. The heaviness they start off with seems to wane a little in the later tracks. The Fizz Picks: "Don't Look At Me That Way," "OK Let's Roll," "Waking the Dead," and "Don't You Cry." I heard Chris Holmes ISN'T in the band, and Keri Kelli IS. Who knows, it's a fuckin' sopp opera now.

| Definitely in the top three of the year though, along with Nugent and of course, Nashville Pussy, who certainly belong on this site now that they've largely shed their punk roots.

| Great cd. They stay true to their roots and yet still manage to sound current and vital. Its a real pity that there was virtually no promotion behind this release. I believe that this cd could have won them a bigger audience if the label gave them some support.

| One of LA Guns best. Real LA GUNS, some songs very heavy, others more along the lines of their 2nd record. Waking the Dead proves again that they are one of the best in this type of music.

| excellant album and back on form the style of the album suits the band perfect 9/10.What ive heard of traci in brides of destuction with nikki sixx seems excellant also.

| I am proud of the guys for this effort, cuz it's Killer! Was listening to it again earlier today so I thought I'd comment on it... Man, I've always dug Phil/Tracii and Gang, and let me tell you, listening to this CD is like seeing your best friend get back with that girl everybody knew was right for him, a perfect match! I can only hope the boys keep it up, saw them on their 2001 tour, wish I coulda seen them on this tour. Some real standouts here, Support LAG, They Deserve It!!!

| Just a really good album if you dig good, sweaty, back alley, dirty rock. Pretty much kick out the jams from beginning to end and every song is pretty strong too, no throwaways here. Usually when I hear "you gotta give it a few listens" I automatically think "It's shit then" but this one really does grow on you more and more after repeated listening. It would be nice if this would have sold more to reward bands of this ilk for sticking to their guns and delivering the goods!!

| I agree with AOR-MESSIAH. That's the greatest album of 2002 and "The Ballad" song of the year and it's guitar solo unbelievable, greatest solo in 2002.

| If you liked "Cocked & Loaded", you'll probably like this album. The sound is back to that era, with just a hint of modern metal thrown in.( Phil's shouting and the heavy plodding of Tracii's guitar in the title track come to mind)But all in all probably their most consistent work since "Cocked".

| damn - it´s february 2004 and i hear that record which came out in 2002 for the first time!!! i guess i was so disappointed of everything after "cocked and loaded", that i someday stopped giving any new LA guns release a try. ok - i´ll never act that way again. this record is great, as mentioned several times above musically back to their sleaze/hard rockin' roots, but not in an embarassing way like motley with "new tattoo". awesome new hard rock record!! who would have thought...

| This 10 song epic proves the obvious: L.A. Guns are now even more relevant than ever before. The CD starts with the infectious ‘baroque flavored’ riffs of “Don’t Look at Me That Way.” This track may go down as one of guitarist Tracii Guns finest moments. The 9/11 United Airline Flight 93 inspired “O.K. Let’s Roll” is a fitting tribute to those American heroes who sacrificed their lives to save many others. The title track and “Psychopathic Eyes” are both an in-your-face assault of the senses.

| I really like this album.It contains some perfect songs such as "city of angels","revolution" and an excellent ballad "the ballad".They keep the original hard rock alive.Keep on hard rockin'!!!!!

| Fantastic stuff here! Who would have thought they could pull this off. A great sounding, modern, contemporary hard rock record from a real rock n'roll band....one that sounds like it was made in the 21st century instead of a bygone era...the late eighties!!!! great song writing here and intelligent lyrics. Give this a listen cos i think you will be pleasantly surprised. Probably the only band around from the eighties that is relevant today!!!!

| Delighted to see the positive reviews here, because man does this album deserve it. I'd go as far as to say this is probably the best new CD from an 80's band I have heard recently. They sound as good as they did back in the day, perhaps better. It is a spirited effort and comes off sounding so good because it sounds like the boys are actually happy to be there, getting well stuck into the great new songs. Just a killer hard rock release and well worth anyone's time.

| Put this one with Britny Fox's Springhead Motorshark as a great mixture of old and new. (Actually Springhead Motorshark came out a year after this one.) This is L.A. Guns in full throttle; music straight out of the L.A. strip but with a more modern edge and approach. In other words, they stay true to their roots and yet still manage to sound current and vital. (P.C. you don't have a clue.)

| Finally after many years and many bad albums (minus the first three) the Guns return with a winner. This should have been album #4 in my opinion. They have put together a very good bunch of tunes. If you remotely dig the first three albums, pick this one up. It holds up. Phil and Tracii once again prove they belong together. Great band live too by the way and great guys.

| This is probably their best album after their initial run. Songs like "Don't Look At Me That Way" and the title track are modern, but still sound like L.A. Guns, while the last three tunes remind more of their earlier stuff. Everybody, band included, seems to love 'Revolution," but I can't help listening to it and thinking, "Where's the hook?" Same goes for "The Ballad," which has cool guitarwork, but again, not all that catchy. Good disc all around, though. They might (repeat: MIGHT) have been able to capitalize on such a strong release, if Tracii hadn't pulled his bullshit stunt almost as soon as the thing was released, forcing them to cancel a tour with Alice Cooper and effectively killing any momentum they might have had. Especially among other old-hair-band releases of the time, Waking The Dead is a real standout.

Very likeable album surely!!!...it had a good effect on me!!!...faves were "O.K Let's Roll","Waking The Dead" & "Don't You Cry" and other goodies could easily be "Don't Look At Me That Way" & "Psychopathic Eyes" /m/ ....recommendable release...90/100

| Harder, darker, heavier but still with the L.A. Guns sleazy sticky mark all over it. Surely disappointing for those who only "aprove" their two first releases, but if you are a little open minded I strongly recommend it. Our main problem is that if they -any band- don't change from one record to the next "...they always do the same..." if they change "...they have lost it..." so what? For me it's a 85/100

| If you own 3 LA Guns discs, this better be one of them. This release is miles ahead of Man in the Moon. This is LA Guns at full throttle, and man does it sound good. No filler here, just some of their finest work. They make a case for "best LA Guns disc" with this raging slab...certainly, its probably the best hard rock release of that year, and perhaps a few years surrounding it.
