A heavier LA GUNS here. Kinda like Skid Row type music. Very good and it works for them.

From: sir_gallant Date: April 5, 2002 at 18:36
Great CD. One of my favourits. Don't miss it.

From: SleazyMusic Date: June 3, 2002 at 9:56
this record is not bad but it's not the real L.A. Guns style....they turned into a more heavy thing...I understand that the time when it came out, it was the grunge era but a song like "killing machine" is not L.A Guns, you know.... "Vicious circle" is a son of those sad alternative times...anyway, "No crime" is fuckin' great....

A little heavier than usual, but still distinctly LA Guns. "No Crime" is a great song. "Chasing the Dragon" is a cool one too.

this album rocks another great album from l.a. guns heavy but still great songs with catchy chorusus i still can understand why this band wasnt right up there with the other great bands such as motley crue aerosmith skid row poison ratt and the rest were rock fans listening to l.a. guns with blocked ears?

From: rocknutter2001 Date: August 15, 2002 at 10:25
cant understand

From: dokken6008 Date: August 16, 2002 at 15:19
I have found out by using the official L.A. Guns official message board, that out of 24 people that bothered to answer the pole, 'Vicious Circle' are most of the fans' favorite cd by the band. I can't understand why, though. This cd is so stipped down and raw. A lot of the songs are very unappealing in a strange way. No, this isn't the same L.A. Guns we heard on the 1st three albums. This is essential only to hardcore Guns fans in my opinon, because for the most part, 'VC' is an unappealing cd.

From: Baris Date: September 27, 2002 at 8:45
Here they've abandoned Sunset Strip music, cut their hair and introduce a harder punk-metal style which also works very well. So don't expect a "Ballad Of Jane" here. But I totally liked this album, their new style didn't disappoint me. Cuz the music is pretty good. Heavier, reactive, darker but impressive also. I've also found the Japanese-version and it has two more punk songs; "Death In America" and "Empire Down" but they're not so much great, so if you don't have, no problem.

From: Buster Date: October 16, 2002 at 22:06
The Alvin Lee cover rocks, big time. Some of the songs on here are really cool, but don't expect typical LA Guns. It's heavier, harder, very raw, and very 90s. "Chasing the Dragon" sucks big time, it sounds like the Friends theme, but most other tracks are very good or excellent. 3.5 out of 5.

From: dokken6008 Date: November 14, 2002 at 7:24
I don't know. A lot of the lyrics seem very nonsensical to me. The whole album does? It's very experimental, very raw. It's a real mixed bag. There are a couple of death metal wannabes ("Killing Machine" is one of them), there is this rather mystical sounding tune ("Fade Away"), an pissed-off rocker ("Face Down"), and so on. By the way, who the hell is singing on that "Nothing Better To Do Track"? That CAN'T be Phil. Tracii, maybe? The vocals sound like shit on that one, whoever it is.

From: T-BONE Date: November 15, 2002 at 10:39
Kelly Nickles sings on that track Dokken6008

From: dokken6008 Date: November 21, 2002 at 6:27
Thanks, man. It's a good thing they never let him have a go at it again, is all I can say. To those who are unaware: Tracii is out of the L.A. Guns. I don't know the specifics, but from what I understand, Phil and Tracii had a little bitch fight. Phil was off with Adam and Steve with Brent Muscat and Chris Holmes touring the last I saw (and heard) them (at the Galaxy Theatre in October). Tracii's off doing a project with Sixx called the 'Brides Of Destruction'. We'll see how long THAT lasts.

From: dokken6008 Date: November 21, 2002 at 6:32
Well, I'm depressed about it as the Guns just released one of their best albums in their entire career ('Waking The Dead'), and I still believe it to be the best record of this year. It was produced by the legend Andy Johns who has produced artists such as Black Sabbath & Cinderella. I don't know what exactly will happen with the L.A. Guns situation. I don't like it. (P.S. Brent Muscat is from Faster Pussycat and Chris Holmes is from Wasp. They played a few gigs in CA. w/ the Guns a month back.)

From: Stich Date: November 26, 2003 at 4:36
A very eclectic group of songs!! There is heavy, heavy metal, punk, led zeppelin, hippie tunes, real weird!!!! There is no direction on this album at all!! Only for genuine hardf@#ckin core L.A. Guns fans. Not a bad listen, since I like a wide variety of musical styles, but as a true crazy ass hardcore L.A. Guns fan, I was shocked as hell the first time I listened to it. I liked it but someone who's a casual L.A.G. listener probably won't

From: James Date: February 1, 2004 at 11:43
at least we have the reworked (not much) Crystal Eyes to hold on to for the early Gun's sound but the other songs are sure in your face. much harder but it does have a few keepers on it. 1,2,4,7,10 are my fav's off this album

From: Jamie Date: March 6, 2004 at 6:33
I just got this album from Amazon and I'd say it is probably one of L.A. Guns best. It's raw and heavy and a bit punky at times. Just the way I like them. If you haven't got this album then get it and you'll see what I'm talking about.

From: Johnny Thunders Date: April 23, 2004 at 17:22
UNDERRATED! No crime, face down, the ten years after cover.all ass kickers.Heavier, and crystal eyes is one of the best ballads ever(on 2 albums to boot!)

From: Phil Damaged Date: April 27, 2004 at 22:38
"nothing better to do" sounds like a twisted quireboys song or something. Its great. "chasing the dragon" sounds godawful. it sounds like a rip off of "sweet emotion" on the chorus.

From: Gar Date: April 28, 2004 at 23:34
Cripes! Am I the only one here who likes "Chasing the Dragon"? Everybody seems to hate it, but for me it was one of the highlights of the disc. Though I have been told I have a weird taste in music...

From: Big Papa K Date: August 19, 2004 at 15:06
This is an improvement over the last album. They ditch the slow blues rock for more of a sleazy metal sound, kind of like a heavier version of their debut album. Good album, but what was the need to do another version of "Crystal Eyes"? 8/10

From: Geoff Date: August 19, 2004 at 21:43
Love this one! Massive hard rock album with some killer songs. 'Nothing better to do' is a fave of mine, especially the cool lyrics, but it is the album closer, 'Kiss of death' that amazes me most. What a splendid song! Overall, the album is gritty hard rock, just the way I like it!

From: CC Date: September 28, 2004 at 17:59
Loved this CD since it was released & just managed to pick up the Jap version which omits "Crystal Eyes" but adds "Death in America" & "Empire down"

From: Bev Date: October 5, 2004 at 6:00
When I first got this CD years ago, I didn't like it as much at first. I love the whole glam thing, and this one isn't really glam. The more I listened to it, the more I liked it. A couple of the songs are a little heavy for my taste, but I still like them allright. No, Gar, you're not the only one who likes "Chasing The Dragon". That's one of my favorite songs on the CD. I love this CD now.

From: Propane Date: November 30, 2004 at 16:32
How on earth do these guys keep from going broke? This is yet another pile of crap from wantabees.

From: hichic Date: December 25, 2004 at 22:42

From: Nghia Date: December 30, 2004 at 9:26

From: Joan Date: February 18, 2005 at 15:07
Buenos comentarios, tengo que escuchar este disco!

From: Lovedrive Date: June 2, 2005 at 7:49

From: Azza Date: August 31, 2005 at 9:28
Who is this Propane guy...seriously. Wannabes? Good going MacGuyver, how did you work that one out? Just because they had the guts to experiment rather than churning out the same Glam garbage like most of the bands at the time...don't get my wrong I like Glam/Hard Rock/Sleaze, but L.A. Guns were always more than just a Sleaze band.

From: Azza Date: August 31, 2005 at 9:38
Anyway, this album is really fantastic. Like someone pointed out, there is no real direction on the album and it really is a mixed bag. There are some really good hard hitting numbers such as Face Down, No Crime and Killing Machine. And there are some amazing slow songs such as Kiss of Death, Why Ain't I Bleeding and the cover of I'd Love To Change The World. There are also some pretty psychedelic songs on here such as Long Time Dead, Chasing The Dragon and Fade Away. There is variety here

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 12:27
This is O.k also,nothing special.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 15, 2011 at 21:53
Probably i have to agree with Rambo Rockerman...ok but nothing special, also i'd add "but quite enjoyable" ..."Face Down","Killing Machine","Who's In Control(Let'Em Roll) & "I'm The One" really rocked me..."No Crime","Nothing Better To Do" & "Kill That Girl" deserve some recognition too ....89/100
