What a return. This album mixes styles from the first three albums to great effect. While it is not a totally retro release, as I listen to the album I am reminded of the debut on one song, a bit of Cocked on another, and Vampires on yet another. The songs still sound fresh, but it is a classic LA Guns release no doubt.

You listen to this record and just shake your head at all the precious time lost. This band was on their way back with Waking The Dead, before derailing headfirst into fifteen years of irrelevance. The Missing Peace is one of the band's best albums in a quarter century. As some have pointed out, it's kind of a mashup of the first three albums, with a splash of Vicious Circle as well ("A Drop Of Blach"). Things get a little lazy or repetitive here and there ("Baby Gotta Fever", or that Deep Purple nick in "Speed"), but overall, this is a damn good album by a band I'd just about given up on. Even the ballad "Christine" is good. My favorite song is "It's All The Same To Me," but there really isn't a bad one on the disc.

For an illustration of just how much time this band wasted, and how detrimental that's been, notice that the record has been out for two months, and mine and CC's comments are the only ones. Even taking into account the evolution of Heavy Harmonies, the apparent low interest in what would have been a highly-anticipated release ten or twelve years ago speaks volumes. Especially compared to the no-names, side-projects and "supergroup" pickup bands that seem to garner way too many comments here.

A less then stellar return. has about 4 good songs and the rest is filler at best. I was hoping for more after hearing the first single. One of my disappointments of the year.

From: Rob Rocker Date: March 23, 2018 at 16:51
For me the low interest is mainly due to a couple reasons, 1. The Missing Peace CD is lackluster at best, and IMO weaker than the last 2 albums (Tales From The Strip and Hollywood Forever). 2. Although Tracii Guns is one of my favorite guitar players, the Lewis/Riley line-up worked hard for 15+ years to establish their version as the "definitive L.A. Guns", so I see this faux reunion as a lateral move for Lewis and step backwards for the L.A. Guns brand.
