Not bad. With Jizzy on vocals it sounds more like a LOVE/HATE cd rather than "Cocked & Loaded", but there's some pretty good songs on this. I particularly like the ballad "Dreamtime" and the rocker "California". The category lists this as "Glam", but actually it's far from it. This is gritty hard rock that stays away from their occasionally glammy past. If you can accept LA GUNS without Phil Lewis you might dig this one.

I like L.A. Guns & I like Jizzy, but this album just didnt work for me,I found it a bit monotonous!

i like this album, and i like jizzy's music in general. i've communicated with jizzy over the internet, and i don't like his attitude AT ALL. but that hasn't stopped me from listening to his music.

Appropriate this is the only LA Guns album I've not already commented on. This is a good hard rock album and there are about 3 or 4 great tracks on it, but it doesn't deserve the LA Guns title. This is as much a Love/Hate CD as it is an LA Guns CD. No disrespect to any artists involved as it's a good rock CD... just wrongly titled IMO.

Geez, I didn't even realize Jizzy Pearl stayed in L.A. Guns long enough to record anything with them... heard some of this CD and it sounded OK, very cheaply produced though. An interesting collectible but not a classic for the ages (like the first two LAG albums were)

From: Rambo Rockerman Date: January 20, 2008 at 12:32
The CD sounds poor and it has the lead singer from LOVEHATE who last great record was Wasted In America.

This album has just been reissued with some bonus live tracks. Not sure if it its been remastered to sound any better though.

From: TechNoir Date: June 4, 2010 at 13:26
Great album, but the new version doesn't sound much better than the original. It has a few tracks left off from the original, but adds 5 live tracks with Jizzy.

1999 was a tough time to be a second-tier hair band, even one of the best in their class. L.A. Guns have never done themselves any favors either—these guys just can't get out of their own way. I remember Shrinking Violet being slagged pretty hard at the time. But at least it's a return to their core sound after the unsuccessful digression of American Hardcore. Jizzy keeps the spirit of the band alive without Phil's trademark British accent, and "I'll Be There" is one of their best post-heyday songs. The production is not good, and there are some weak tunes, like the lumbering blues of "Bad Whiskey." It's still among their more forgettable releases, but not the worst.
