Rockers Band Turn To Glam Rock.

From: Emilio Date: May 1, 2001 at 14:20
It's a great band, the voice is very nice,'girlschool and rock revolution' are the best song for me

From: Mike G. Date: July 25, 2001 at 10:55
If AC/DC and Cinderella had a baby, it would be Britny Fox!! These guys are one hard rockin' band!! Straight forward, in your face hard rock at it's best!!! You can't go wrong with any album from these guys!!

From: Logan-Five Date: August 14, 2001 at 10:25
This was probably one of the best glam bands to come from the 80's. More straight-forward rock than most glam. Recommend all three studio albums.

From: james Date: October 27, 2001 at 8:00
the only reason i bought this album was because they were the opening act for Poison and I was going to the concert. But what a suprise. I told friends Britny Fox was going to be bigger than Guns N Roses. Well, a little off but these guys didn't put out a bad album. Everyone is at least a 9. Great band that didn't get enough exposier to fulfill my thought but a winner to those fans that who were lucky enough to see them live.

From: koogles Date: January 1, 2002 at 11:00
Middling Cinderella clones, with the occasional good song ('Girlschool'). Hopelessly average.

From: WidoMakr Date: January 20, 2002 at 17:41
Koogles....are u from another planet?? Britney Fox...middling Cinderella clones...u awipe...go listen to nsync or something...Britney Fox with dizzy Dean Davidson was one of the most unique bands in the 80's...the power of his voice...the guitar playing..pounding drums and catchy lyrics made for a worldclass band...hey isnt that the backstreet boyz i hear u listening to?....quote the WidoMakr....never more...

From: Metalhead Date: March 30, 2002 at 10:10
Koogles is right!!! What made this band unique? The songs here are mediocre. And I read an interview of the band and they said that they don't intend to change their style. No growth or improvement can be expected. The best that can be said to them is that they are MEDIOCRE!

From: WidoMakr Date: March 31, 2002 at 6:19
Metalhead...u are an idiot!...mediocre??? give me a break...listen to Rock Revolution and Girlschool and tell me thats mediocre....Dizzy Dean rips on this album (and the 2nd)..granted he doesnt have a Joe Lynn Turner set of pipes but the 1st two albums are GREAT...repeat GREAT...from the hard pounding drums to Dean going ape shit on most every tune.... growth in the 90's led to grunge and Def Lep coming out with Slang...go listen to the backstreet boys u wimp...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: imanothere Date: March 31, 2002 at 13:48
Yes, they do have a Cinderella feel to them (actually, maybe Cinderella on speed)...is that a bad thing? I think these guys rock and I love their music. It may not be original, but it still F'ing rocks! It is what it is; classic 80's sleaze metal and they took it to the max....The Girlschool video is still one of the best videos to come from the era....YUMMY

From: Desslar Date: April 5, 2002 at 12:21
Solid pop metal with great sleazy vocals. Somewhat uneven songwriting, but always fun.

From: Tony Date: April 10, 2002 at 1:31
Just a great dumb stupid hair band album. That's a compliment by the way. just such great dumb mindless songs that even if you hate this stuff how can you not tap your toes to 'Long Way To Love'? If 'Look What The Cat Dragged In' took steroids it would become this cd.

From: TIM Date: May 2, 2002 at 17:14
I agree with Desslar. I love Girlschool, except for the 40 second intro. Dizzy never put out another song equal to it in my opinion. These guys get compared to Cinderella a lot, but they aren't as consistant songwriters. I also like Long Way to Love. Some of the other tracks are pretty boring.

From: TIM Date: May 2, 2002 at 17:23
I have to say, the songs I do enjoy on this one get tons of listening. There are none that I can't stand, just a few which I can live without.

From: jason Date: May 7, 2002 at 22:34
People keep saying that Britny Fox sounds like Cinderella. Thats because in the early days they were the same band. Michael kelly smith came from Cinderella and joined Dean Davidson to make B.F. Jesus Christ! Am I the only person that knows that?? They may be a dated hair band, but for me the song 'long way to love' never gets old. So kiss my ass!

From: Reno Date: May 8, 2002 at 6:26
So what your trying to say is that because Michael Kelly Smith was once in Cinderella, they were the same band? Not quite. He was 1/4 of Cinderella. Britny Fox is a different band with him on guitar. Tom Keifer and Dizzy Dean do sound alike on alot of songs, thats why they get compared. Musically they sound different

From: TIM Date: May 8, 2002 at 12:30
They do get compared quite a bit, but I like Tom Keiffer's vocals and writing better.

From: dokken6008 Date: May 9, 2002 at 3:48
On a slightly different topic (in comparison to Keiffer & Davidson), I fool around with making falsettos once in a while and let me tell you that while Tom gets his voice higher in his songs, it is harder to imitate Dizzy's tone and sound by far. And as far as 'Girlschool' goes, I don't really dig that song. Personally, I find 'Boys In Heat' to be 20X better than BF's s/t release. It is too bad Davidson didn't stick around & make a 3rd album with the boys. Paris was a great replacement, though.

From: richierocker Date: May 23, 2002 at 16:43
This is one of the best glam albums ever, they deserve more exposure. Girlschool, long way to love,Fun in Texas, and lets not forget Hold on. What an intense song, These guys rockrd harder than any hair band in the 80's. The girlschool video is one of the best videos I have ever seen too.

From: richierocker Date: May 27, 2002 at 19:54
widowmaker i can concur with your thoughts on baseball and Britny Fox. I think 1st album is a hair band classic, and Boys in Heat was good too. I also think Tommy held his own in rgards to Bite Down Hard. Its a tie for me though when it comes to who has the better voice, I like them both.

From: metalhead Date: May 31, 2002 at 22:58
Yes, you're right, widowmkr. In an era when bands like Cacophony and Helloween existed, Britney Fox is the best band. But sadly, there were also bands that existed with names like Metallica, Van Halen, Racer X, Labyrinth, L.A. Guns, Dio, Dokken, Accept, W.A.S.P., Shotgun Messiah... should I go on?

From: Altay Date: June 3, 2002 at 8:58
this is one of the fuckin' crappiest thing ý've ever spend money for.ý can't believe how you guys are sayin' all these compliments for this ...(i can't name)they sound like amateurs, they sound like shitty copy of ac/dc.vocals like brian johnson(which i can't stand)hmm i don't know..we all listened skid row-gn'r-tesla-dokken-danger danger etc..this guys can't go near anywhere.ý'm gonna find my tattooed_loved_boys cd that i throw on trash.look britney what you made me....NoFuckin'Machines,JustWood

From: Altay Date: June 3, 2002 at 9:01
Go on Paul Gilbert, keep shredding, keep kickin' fuckin' asses.seems that there are still so many's that couldn't dig hard n' heavy souls...besides i couldn't hear even one fuckin' solo for my ear..

From: el colebrom Date: July 6, 2002 at 21:19
great songs, but......I prefer CINDERELLA.

From: dokken6008 Date: July 21, 2002 at 6:40
I really can't blame you there. Okay, so maybe BF and Cind. both took a great deal of inspiration from AC/DC (moreso the former), but Fox was great at rockin' and Cinderella are great at rockin', writing ballads, and overall better songwriters. Still, I love 'em both.

From: el colebrom Date: July 25, 2002 at 23:04
TWO great bands!

From: dokken6008 Date: August 9, 2002 at 4:55
Amen to that.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 10, 2002 at 21:32
I clicked on 'cover songs' here on this website and noticed that the song 'Gudbuy T' Jane' wasn't listed on that page. Britny Fox did a cover of that song on this album and it was first done by Slade. If Dan reads this, maybe he will get that fixed.

From: Altay Date: August 18, 2002 at 17:32
i still can t stand listenin' this cd.

From: Gar Date: August 25, 2002 at 20:36
Their over the top Glam image was great. Some good songs, some throwaway songs, but 'Long Way to Love' is a classic. I never get tired of hearing that song. Also 'In America' is a cool patriotic song. So much better than 'God Bless the USA'.

From: David Date: September 3, 2002 at 16:55
Britny Fox will be releasing a new studio cd next year on the Spitfire Records label, I can't wait!

From: Baris Date: September 6, 2002 at 6:45
NICE GLAM SOUND AND IMAGE. Songs 'Girlschool', 'Long Way To Love', 'Save The Weak' and 'Rock Revolution' carries the album. A successful and fresh starting point for the band.

From: Richard H. Date: September 27, 2002 at 12:10
Their next album was better. The first time I saw this l.p. ,I thought it was Cinderella.'Girlschool' and 'Long Way To Love' are cool tracks but 'Save The Weak' is one of the weakest ballads I've ever heard(that's just my biased opinion). The 'Boys In Heat ' c.d.is a marked improvement.

From: Blue Tequila Date: September 27, 2002 at 20:38
'Save The Weak' one of the weakest ballads?? You've got to be kidding! With such great lyrics as 'Feelin bad, I'm feelin sad, let's lend a helping hand...Oh save the weeeeeeeak!' how could it not have been a mega-hit??!! The song may crack me up but it's a good disc to throw in every once in a while.

From: Metal Man Date: October 9, 2002 at 16:30
Classic album from PAs finest. I have the original demo cassette from my buddy Chip from Chipster entertainment who used to manage these guys. I saw them many times before this album came out. Good guys and a good band.

From: jarett r. Date: October 18, 2002 at 4:08
michael kelly smith and tony destra were both in both cinderella and britney fox.

From: WidoMakr Date: November 29, 2002 at 21:18
Just had to re-read all the posts on this one...amazing how some people didnt like this album (why for the life of me I dont know) AND NOONE mentions what I consider one of the best/turn to 10 till your ears bleed tunes ever... Rock Revolution..maybe its me but if this isnt one amazing KICK ASS feel good tune please educate me...from trying to sound like DDD to pumping 600+ RMS through my car stereo I know i have lost hearing and vocals from this tune...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: Todd Date: December 4, 2002 at 20:43
I never could understand why their label pumped up this band so much and ignored Roughhouse...they release the albums at the same time and pumped this LP and let the Roughhouse LP sink to oblivion and RH was a much better band.

From: ARXONTAS Date: December 14, 2002 at 11:15
WidoMakr,i totally agree with you man. This album is another one fucking amazing debut which made me proud for my collection.Just ignore the negative comments, these comments are meaningless.ARXONTAS spoken. 10 on my scale

From: metalmike Date: December 17, 2002 at 7:08
First of all, Britney Fox was nothing more then a Cinderella clone w/ fake hair! Dizzy Dean was ass. He was his biggest fan. They were much better w/o him. ROUGHHOUSE was definitly a much better band as was Heaven's Edge. If RH would've gotten more support from Columbia/CBS, BF would've never had a chance. ROUGHHOUSE ROCKS !!!!!!! THE MANIACS ARE BACK!!!!

From: ThunderDan Date: December 17, 2002 at 20:47
What a great debut! You can't go wrong w/ 'Girlschool', and of course the cool video. 'Rock Revolution' kicks ass too! One of the best hair metal freshman offerings out there. I agree that these guys look like a second coming of Cinderella, and enough w/ the Roughhouse whining. I don't care who put out their album first. BF became famous, accept it and live w/ it!!

From: WidoMakr Date: December 18, 2002 at 1:56
MetalMike....U R WRONG!!! and NO you are not allowed an opinion.. Britny Fox was and ALWAYS will be DDD...end of story...Paris was okay BUT NOTHING compared to DDD...the raw energy that DDD gave BF was awesome...yeah so he wasnt the greatest vocalist...u hear some of the crap today being played??? the 1st 2 albums captured an energy/feel of the 80's glam metal scene like almost NO other...to this day the 1st 2 CDs are played by me 100/1 over the 3rd...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: RichieRocker Date: December 18, 2002 at 2:36
Rock On ThunderDan I just got the Roughhouse tape and they suck! Britny Fox rules and this was one of the best debuts of any hair band I do also think they look and sound a little like Cinderella, but when Britny Fox got Tommy Paris I felt it gave them there own identity. 'Hold On' Girlschool, Long Way to Love, Kick n Fight, Fun N Texas, Just so much balls to the wall attitude man. Britny Fox rock n roll. Rock n Fuckin Roll friends!!!

From: ARXONTAS Date: December 22, 2002 at 9:54
Even one small hair from Dizzy's dick is without compare better then Roughhouse...Get used to it...Absolutely No Alternative

From: 80's fan Date: January 3, 2003 at 6:45
WHOA, THAT'S ENOUGH WITH ALL THE BAD MOUTHING BOTH THESE AWESOME PHILLY 80'S BANDS. YOU REALLY CAN'T COMPARE ONE TO THE OTHER. OTHER THEN THEY BOTH RELEASED ALBUMS ON THE CBS LABEL. IT'S NOT FAIR TO EITHER BAND OR THEIR FANS. BOTH HAD VERY BIG FOLLOWINGS (ALOT OF THE SAME FANS). BOTH HAD KILLER TUNES AND SLAMMING MUSICIANS. MAX NORMAN RUINED THE ROUGHHOUSE ALBUM. IT WASN'T THE BANDS FAULT. JUST ENJOY BOTH BANDS. ROUGHHOUSE IS REALLY AWESOME ON STAGE THOUGH. GOOD LUCK TO BOTH.

From: THE ROCK Date: January 3, 2003 at 6:54
YEAH, I AGREE W/ THE 80'S FAN. YOU REALLY CAN'T COMPARE EITHER BAND. BRITNEY FOX'S 1ST ALBUM IS AWESOME AND SO IS ROUGHHOUSE'S FIRST ALBUM WHEN THEY WERE TEEZE. THAT ALBUM KICKS ASS. CBS AND MAX NORMAN DID RUIN THE RAW SOUND OF ROUGHHOUSE. BUT BOTH BANDS SONGS KICK ASS. I JUST SAW ROUGHHOUSE'S REUNION SHOW AND THEY'RE DEFINITLY BACK AND SMOKIN! THERE'S NO REASON TO BAD MOUTH EITHER. JUST GO OUT AND SUPPORT BOTH BANDS AND TRY TO BRING BACK THE BEST MUSIC ERA EVER, 80'S ROCK!!!

From: HG Date: January 4, 2003 at 6:00
BF was not a Cinderella ripoff. They ripped off the look more than anything. Cinderella was a tad more serious than BF. Davidson sounded a bit like Kiefer, but a lot of guys did back then. BF is no more a Cinderella clone than Cinderella is and Aerosmith clone.

From: vics Date: January 10, 2003 at 10:58
read the all comments once .. and one more time .. and i agree completely with widomakr .. b.f.'s self t. album was their best ever.. and apart frm the vocals they don't sound like Cin'la at all ! 4get bf tryin to copy Cin'la

From: Date: January 11, 2003 at 6:26
Loved these guys Living on the edge, Rock revolution, Girlschool, in motion all kick ass!

From: Date: February 5, 2003 at 4:41
One of the most musically inane pieces of drivel I've ever heard. music for musically brain-dead 13 year old girls...2/10 for technical ability..they simply don't make the grade...imagine this group trying to do a note-for-note rendition of 'fight fire with fire' by Metallica...enough said

From: David Date: February 5, 2003 at 4:49
Just because a band doesn't have strong technical ability (musically) doesn't mean shit! This band are still very good song writers that don't need technical brilliants. Could you imagine Metallica playing Turn Around by Steelhouse Lane note of note? MMMMM? I don't think so.

From: Sally Mounds Date: February 12, 2003 at 1:49
i like the first album better than the others. never liked the singer much. tom keifer rip off but the songs were good and make you want to shake your ass. i like the new singer better. did that last person spell brilliance brilliants?

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: February 12, 2003 at 2:48
Sally, what you meant to say was..... (notice I start the sentence with a capital D)>>>>Did that last person spell brilliance, 'brilliants?'

From: freddy de keyze Date: February 12, 2003 at 11:58
A SUPER AOR EXTRAVAGANZA!!! I love this band so much, I can't take it out of the CD player. Why is it that not more bands can be so unique as this? I am still thinking by far this is my favorite Cinderella release. A definite MUST HAVE!!! 16/10

From: Richierocker Date: March 21, 2003 at 20:40
In My Opinion this album is an 80s rock classic!! A must have! Rockin guitars, solos, Kick ass animalistic punch a hole in the wall intensity. Man! These guys were the hardest rockin hair band in my opinion. I also can't wait for there next album this summer.

From: TIM Date: March 25, 2003 at 19:08
Anyone who wants to hear the bonus track 'Living On The Edge' off the Japanese pressing and has a high-speed connection, send me an email. A serious rocker that was overlooked. rio1harris@aol.com

From: Carlomagno Date: June 9, 2003 at 15:47
Nuff Said!! The Fox Kicks ASS!!

From: Metal T Date: November 3, 2003 at 22:45
Though they had some limited success, for the most part Britny Fox' fell under the radar.Often overlooked in favor of more popular, yet less talented bands like--Poison,Bon Jovi,Motley,Skid Row and Motley. If you strip off the make up and take away the hair spray,Britny Fox are still a kick-ass hard rock / metal band, and alot of the others are not even close. This is their best release.

From: Brian Mc Date: November 12, 2003 at 3:48
I own this cd because of the song 'Long Way to Love'. For me that song alone can capture the late '80's metal scene in a nutshell and elementally what late '80's metal music had to offer. Beyond that, the rest is shit.

From: ChrisSlade Date: January 5, 2004 at 15:01
Saw the video for 'Long Way to Love' and I was impressed! When they opened for Lita Ford and Ozzy they stole the show. Such a shame they only got to play for 30 minutes. I love 'Hold On', and 'Rock Revolution', also. I do agree how some of their songs can be a tad boring. But Dizzy Dean is such a showman and has unique vocals and drives a mean rhythm section. To me he was a huge creative force behind this band, and a lot of the magic was lost after the fight between him and M.K.S.

From: iamCANADIAN! Date: February 11, 2004 at 4:25
I bought this CD through Columbia House. I love metal. I tried this one out. But I thought it was cheesy. Sorry.

From: red Date: March 8, 2004 at 21:34
I love Cinderella and thought this might be good due to that connection, but I was wrong. A friend of mine bought this in 88 and I thought it was awful. Weak songs with horrible vocals.

From: tseve e. Date: April 2, 2004 at 19:09
this band, oh my god where to begin...THEY SUCK!!!! i remember when they 'hit' i was about 17..even then i knew they sucked....they blow so bad....i mean screw grunge but this crap.....

From: razor2467 Date: May 7, 2004 at 11:38
These guys were nothing more than a second rate Cinderella. Poor songwriting, and that guys voice.....Nails on a chalkboard maybe?? This is the stuff that gave the genre a bad name. NOT recommended!!!

From: jack Date: May 26, 2004 at 1:50
Hey,this band is not a cinderella or any other hair metal band clone! They may not be very original but they play good hard rock music and they are a talented band too.this album totally kick ass and is pure hard rock.i love cinderella but i love britny fox too. Both bands are great bands and they don't deserve to be criticize. There are bands like bon jovi, poison, warrant and white lion that deserve more of that!

Musical influences aside. This band was fun. No one can say these didn't sweat these songs out of every pour. The freaking outfuts they woore were great. Come on, these guys kicked some serious ass. Speaking of the Cinderella influence. Wasn't their original drummer also part of cinderella? That would be 1/2 of the original band. I would call then a Cinderella influenced band, but certainly no Cinderella rip off. Long live the Fox.

From: Zenon1970crue Date: August 14, 2004 at 1:10
One of the best bands which played Glam Rock, Girlschool is one of my favorite songs so far.

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 11:09
I don't consider this band a 'hairband'. They had the hair but installed key elements within their song writing to remain with the respected hard rock genra. Great band, would pay a premium to see them live.

From: Metal Pete Date: December 1, 2004 at 13:22
I like 'Girlschool' and 'Long Way to Love'. But, I'll always remember these guys for pizzin' me off cuz they played longer than KIX (who blew them off the stage) during a triple-bill show of Britny Fox, KIX and Def Leppard. Britny should have opened because KIX was a LOT better --and more fun to watch! If you wanna talk about underrated bands, Kix deserves the attention much more than Britny, IMO...

From: james Date: December 8, 2004 at 20:27
6.95????? you have to be kidding. this is a great cd. breat live also

From: pt88 Date: January 23, 2005 at 0:04
I saw them with Ratt on their Dancin' tour. I think.. but honestly they weren't good live. Someone else was on the bill..can't remember. I loved the tape...I played it all the time. Great Slade covers. Just fun stuff and pretty darn catchy. They did look silly but alot of bands did then.

From: Swriter Date: February 18, 2005 at 22:02
great album, very cool melodic hard rock/metal!!! The songs are just great and stand the test of time, I must of saw this band 100 times!!!! Fantastic debut album, went downhill a bit after this one, but this is a killer, Long Way, Girlschool, Kick, Rock, America, and Don't Hide are the standouts!!! Fabulous melodic metal!!!

From: Geoff Date: March 14, 2005 at 22:40
I consider Dizzy a vocal criminal. I think his voice is a crime, but that said... this is quite a disc. When he actually sings, for example on the piss-poor 'Save the weak', I quite like his normal voice. But it is not of too much concern here because to be honest this is pretty f*cking great, simple and to-the-point hard rock and the riffs are simply outstanding. Stellar band musically - awesome guitar and drums, and though the songs aren't amazing, most are quite enjoyable.

From: cook_jaime Date: March 16, 2005 at 11:32
Hey Geoff...if you like Dizzy's voice when he's not screaming check out Blackeyed Susan - Electric Rattlebone. May be right up your alley.

From: cort Date: April 6, 2005 at 18:15
It's a great album and personally as many on here I don't give a damn if they sound a little like Cinderella or maybe quite a bit like them!!Let Tom K. and the Cinderella guys worry about that!!I also don't care if a certain genre of music plays easy chords(if U wanna say that). If my ears like it then I like it!People my ears like all 3 albums by Britny Fox(Even with Tommy Paris, great replacement singer).Buy it!!

From: headbanger4life Date: December 27, 2005 at 2:41
This was and still is one of my favorites to come out of the 80's hair metal era. I loved 'Girlschool', 'Long Way to Love' and 'Save the Weak'. I latter picked up the Japanese version with a bonus track. I one of those fans that likes both Dean and Tommy and can't really make up my mind who I like better. Their both great singers.

This band should have been bigger than that other Britney (I'm talking about Spears, of course). They weren't as easy on the eyes, but boy, they knew how to rock. Actually, this debut is a half-n-half affair, with some really good songs mixed in with some really bad ones, but it set the stage for better albums to come. If you're into that big hair/big guitars/big hooks sound of the late 80s glam-metal scene, then you'd have to be crazier than a rabid fox on methamphetamines not to own this one.

to add to the above comments on the Cinderella connection, the drummer and guitarist(mike) from Cinderella joined this great band after Cinderella was signed, great album again!!!! also, the 8 song demo is amazing and hard to find, probably some demo cassettes floating around!!!

These guys look like chicks as much as poison did. Shame they don't have as much talent. Holy crap! Does Dizzy use a cheese grater on those vocal chords. Enjoyable sleaze rock none the less. Just not very consistant. 'Girlschool', 'Long Way To Love', and 'Save The Weak' are all pretty good, but the rest is a bit of a snooze.

Great album overall.'girlschool'is my personal fav.'long way to love'has good rhythm too.'save the weak'-great power ballad.Rockers like:'rock revollution','hold on' kicks ass.'dont hide' has great hooks and melodies and is one of the best songs on that record for me.Their next 2 albums are good too but that one is the top of them all.

britny fox kicks ass i love the song kick n' fight that is a very underrated song and rock revolution rocks hard long way to love is cool. michael kelly smith's guitar playing on girlschool kicks ass he's plays his ass off on that song and save the weak is cool it's kinda sad that dizzy dean davidson got out of britny fox after boys in heat although i do like blackeyed susan too there a little different from britny fox but that's cool.

It's okay. I like the second album a lot better. I seem to be in the minority on that one. My favorites here are "Girlschool," "Long Way To Love," "ROck Revolution," and "Gudbuy T'Jane." Some other songs are just average, and "Save The Weak" is pretty awful. Dizzy Dean had a way of sounding like he was screeching through clencehd teeth.

Definitely not as good as the second or third but still some notable tracks on here. Girlschool, Long way to Love, Fun In Texas and Rock Revolution stand out while the rest is mostly abysmal. The slade cover was OK but the ballad Save the Weak is the worst I've ever heard from any band. Ballads are about heartbreak or death of a loved one NEVER about saving the "weak". Who are the weak anyway and why do they need saving? Are we talking about nerds at school or old people that can't carry their shopping home anymore? The song has terrible lyrics and lasts too long as well. Dean tries his best to rip off Tom Kiefer's style and it just sounds nauseating. 79/100

Very good rocking debut album from the fox but i think the 2nd is much stronger

fucking great album! hair metal at its best, and Britny Fox most representative album.

21 or so years after its release, Britny Fox's release still sounds great. Dizzy Dean Davidson's vocals are reminiscent of his 70's vocal influences, like Dan Cafferty of Nazereth, Brian Johnson of Ac/Dc, and Paul Stanley of Kiss. The band crafted some genuinely kick ass fist pumping rock that really is timeless. Definitely a cut above the rest of their "hair metal" (glam metal) contemporaries, this band never got the fair shake they so deserved. "Kick And Fight" is awesome.

Listening to this one again, and it's hard to believe "Save The Weak" was actually released as a single, but it was. Not surprisingly, it failed. I guess it was supposed to be another "When The hildren Cry," lyrically, but just comes off, well, weak. And it's virtually hookless, musically, too. As I recall, the first two albums were released little more than ayear apart. The band always gets called Cinderella Jr. (by me, included), but on this disc, Dizzy Dean's high-pitched screech sounds more like Udo.

Excellent album. The voice of Dean davidson has the similarity with Cinderella's Tom Keifer. Britny fox won the best heavy metal band's award in 1988 for this album. The song save the weak is a real metal ballad. A good release by the CBS records.
