From: dokken6008 Date: April 25, 2002 at 8:43
Well! I am glad that I listened to WidoMakr & Rick, who urged me to check out Britny Fox's earlier material (at the time I was only familiar with 'Bite Down Hard'). I am in love with this album! Tracks 1, 2, 5, 9, 10 & 12 are great. I could do w/out the ballads, but 'Long Way From Home' is EXCELLENT. D. Dean sounds cool whether using his falsetto voice or not. BF also is a group of wonderful musicians. Johnny Dee is one of the best drummers I have ever heard in a hairband before.

From: dokken6008 Date: April 25, 2002 at 8:49
(--continued) I love the guitars. The riffs are bitchin' and the solos are totally AC/DC inspired. I give the credit to the whole band. Britny Fox is now one of my favorite 'hair' groups, along with the other fifty or so I currently listen to or own the albums of. BF ranks highly in my book. Tommy Paris (who joined the band replacing Davidson on vocal duties) is great as well but his song-writing is lacking and the same energy is not felt on all the songs ('Six Guns Loaded' kicks ass, though).

From: WidoMakr Date: April 25, 2002 at 15:04
Dokken...glad to see that I have atleast made it 2 out of 3...BF thumbs up Wildside down...hehe To me the 1st 2 BF albums were by far the best...Dizzy Dean just adds that raw something to them that Tommy doesnt...whatever...glad u like them....By the way...u ever listen to Blue Tears??? guys arent bad at all...ALOT of DL similarities...Quote the WidoMakr....never more

From: Desslar Date: April 25, 2002 at 22:23
Great album, more mature than the first. 'She's So Lonely' might be my favorite. I still might prefer the first album because it's so fun.

From: dokken6008 Date: April 26, 2002 at 5:45
I agree with you, WidoMakr. Britny Fox kicks ass and Wildside is great (I'll stay away from the 2nd because of the overwhelming negative feedback). Trouble Tribe isn't bad. And as far as Blue Tears goes..... Well, I left a post on them a few weeks back. The synthesizers drive me nuts!! For some reason, I was never able to pick up on any Def Leppard influence on B. Tears. It sounds more like Winger & you know how I despise them. Decent stuff, though. Thanks for all the recommendations & reviews.

From: TIM Date: May 2, 2002 at 17:17
Another half good, half bad album. It's worth it to me because I crave this kind of music. There's some really great stuff here, but unfortunately a lot of filler.

From: TIM Date: May 2, 2002 at 17:25
Long Way From Home is one of my fav's, but I didn't like their Hair of the Dog version.

From: jason Date: May 7, 2002 at 22:43
I feel that this album is a step up from the first. Long Way To Love is still their best song, but as a whole this album is their best. Look for Michael Kelly Smith's new band Razamanaz and their new album due out this summer. For more info. on this and more hair bands go to www.perrisrecords.com or go to hell, I really don't care!!

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: August 10, 2002 at 21:34
This album also has a cover tune that isn't listed on the 'cover songs' page. We all know that Nazareth did that song way back in 1975.

From: Gar Date: August 25, 2002 at 20:43
This is even better than their debut. They toned down the Glam image and let the music do the talking. 'Shine On', 'Angel in My Heart'... lots of good songs. 'Hair of the Dog' cover was not as good as the original, but miles ahead of Guns n Roses' version.

From: Baris Date: September 11, 2002 at 8:17
A satisfactory follow-up album. Even better than the first. You'll be happy to have this CD. There is really good glam-rock here. I liked 'Hair Of The Dog' cover so much. Others are also catchy.

From: The FIzzy One Date: September 23, 2002 at 16:50
Come on guys! 'Hair of the Dog' is one of the best covers I've ever heard, better than GnR's version, and I gotta say I like it a lot better than the original. The only song I don't care for her is 'Stevie,' and even then I can tolerate it. Great album here, much rawer than Cinderella (to whom they're always getting compared). Highly recommended.

From: dokken6008 Date: September 26, 2002 at 7:35
Note that 'Stevie' has a stolen AC/DC riff. Not to be overly redundant, but: Does 'Hell's Bells' ring any bells???

From: Reno Date: September 26, 2002 at 7:58
They are different Dokken. The intro to Hells Bells is A minor. They are played in two different keys. I play guitar and know both songs.

From: jarett r. Date: October 18, 2002 at 4:09
michael kelly smith and tony destra were both in both cinderella and britney fox.

From: Great Dane Date: February 17, 2003 at 21:48
Good cd. Just found it by accident. Cool, great tracks, well produced.

From: Pierre Date: February 17, 2003 at 22:14
If you like this album, look for the 2003 reissue, soon available on the 'Bad Reputation' french record label !

HERE IN ITALY PRATICALLY ANYONE HAVE EVER LISTENED AND KNOWN THIS BAND SO WHEN GOT THE SONG ANGEL IN MY HEART(1996/7 ?!?)EVERY FRIEND OF MINE (THEY HAD 13 YRS)TREATED ME LIKE A FOOL...AND THEY WERE RIGHT I WAS FOOL OF THIS SONG!!GREAT ALBUM GREAT VIBE!!THE BEST BRITNY FOX ALBUM SO FAR...9.5/10

From: jack Date: May 26, 2004 at 1:56
A cool and great cover!Another one of a truly good and superb album produce by this talented and amazing band. Their music remind me a bit of cinderella and even defleppard but whatever! They work hard, enjoy playing rock/n/roll and produce such decent music for me to enjoy that i don't mind if they copy cinderella...unless they overdo it!

From: Metal Jay Date: July 30, 2004 at 22:17
I have to admit I was one of those guys that grew up listening to the hair metal. I lost touch with it. A sad point in my life. That's where you all are supposed to go "ahhhhh". Anyways, one day I dug out all my old cassettes. They were old and sounded like crap. I decided to replace them all with cds. To my surprise I found that I got almost all them relatively easy and very cheap. Gotta love the Wherehouse recordds used section. Ok, so all this leads up to me saying I was able to even get alot

From: Metal Jay Date: July 30, 2004 at 22:20
of the albums I had never owned. Stuff that had been released after my laspe in judgement(my losing touch with hair metal). This Britney Fox cd is a total gem. Some of the best of the genre. 2 thumbs up. Ok so I am long winded, but I am back. Spandex, High tops Reeboks and Aquanet forever.

From: Zenon1970crue Date: August 14, 2004 at 1:07
Too bad this band did not get the support they deserved, this album is really good, they should have kept on, they were really good.

From: Kryiis Karl Date: November 5, 2004 at 23:50
Big production, heavy guitars, glam vibe, very dynamic. A good Cd. Maybe Davidson is exagerating his "closed throat singing like". This release sounds less dated that many in the genre that came out in that period.

From: Propane Date: December 1, 2004 at 11:13
BAD ASS MOTHERF@(^!%$S!!! Great underrated band of all time. Fantastic album made for doing 12 ouince curls. If you don't already own this one, FIND IT!!!!!

From: Geoff Date: March 15, 2005 at 4:44
I don't like this as much as the debut, but that is not to say this is of any lesser standard. Just a preference. As stated, I hate Dizzy Dean's voice when he lets out that wail, but he lets it out normally a few times here and sounds in good order. I just love the drums too. To be honest, that was always a highlight from Britny Fox for me - that killer drum sound, awesome riffs too. Again, musically excellent band and 'Angel in my heart' is IMO the best song off the first 2 CDs - killer track.

From: Aussie Dave Date: March 15, 2005 at 19:21
This album IMO was their best. Somewhere in between AC/DC and Cinderella, they produced a very solid album, with hardly a bad track on here. Dizzy's voice does take a little getting used to though. He has a voice similar to Tom Kiefer from Cinderella. Anyway, great improvement from the debut, and unfortunately was the last album Dizzy made under the Britny Fox name. Too bad, 'cause this was cool. 9/10....

From: Matt Date: April 7, 2005 at 23:00
Drag-in-Bones. I heard that someone from Cinderella was replaced. I thought they were replaced by Eric Brittingham. But Eric plays bass and Michael Kelly Smith is lead guitarist. That doesn't mean that either one of them couldn't play guitar and bass. I read it somewhere a long time ago. I may not be remembering it correctly. Anyway, I haven't heard anything other that their first cd. Good debut.

From: ghettonation73 Date: June 28, 2005 at 6:35
THE PROBLEM WITH BANDS LIKE THIS IS THAT RADIO STATIONS ONLY FOCUS ON 1 OR 2 SONGS FROM 1 CD I.E. THE FIRST ONE, I LIKE "GIRLSCHOOL," "LONG WAY TO LOVE," AND "SAVE THE WEAK" TO NAME A FEW. BUT WHY WON'T THEY PLAY "STANDING IN THE SHADOWS," "DREAM ON," AND "LONG WAY FROM HOME?" IF THERE ARE ANY RADIO STATIONS LEFT IN THIS COUNTRY, GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND REALIZE THAT SOME OF THESE BANDS HAVE MORE THAN 1 OR 2 GOOD SONGS!!!

From: headbanger4life Date: December 27, 2005 at 2:44
A great sophmore effort from these guys. My favorite tracks on this one are "Dream On" and their cover of Nazarath's "Hair of the Dog".

From: metalmaniac777 Date: January 16, 2006 at 21:00
Better than the debut, with more good songs, but still too many fillers. That said, even a deaf dog could enjoy the big guitars/hooks/choruses/vocals found on this CD, even if you have to skip a song or two here and there. Yep, the Britny Fox boys blasted back on this album and did their best to rock your world, and for the most part, they succeeded. No reinvention of the wheel here, just straight-up, well-done late 80s hair-metal that should please most folks who bother to read these reviews.

From: caritosmatanza Date: January 26, 2006 at 22:07

From: Metalmusicman Date: January 1, 2007 at 19:06
The AC/DC inspired glamsters are back with another up and down effort and this one I like less than the last I think. Like I said before it is a fun listen and it is good time rock n roll, but the song quality is just lacking to often for my tastes. I did find stuff I liked. "Dream On" was a praticular favorite. I also enjoyed the "Hair Of The Dog" cover quite a bit as well. Good stuff, but far from essential for me.

From: edwithmj Date: August 22, 2008 at 11:26
This is a mixed album. While it was easier to get into than the first one, the album trails off and gets tired after Plenty Of Love. The cover of Hair Of The Dog is very good and much better than Guns N'Roses' version. Dean's vocals start to hurt my ears after a while too. The first eight songs are worth the album.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: March 23, 2009 at 18:18
Maybe it's because I got this one first, but I much prefer Boys In Heat to the debut. The songs just seem catchier adn more distinct from one another. Also, Dizzy Dean uses his normal voice a little more, which is nice, as he can get grating when he does his TOm Keifer/David Wayne thing. Some great, overlooked tunes here, like "Angel In My Heart," "Left Me Stray," "Long Way From Home," "Plenty Of Love," "She's So Lonely," and a terrific version of "Hair Of The Dog."

From: rockhardrock Date: April 11, 2009 at 12:50
this album just can't compare with their debut, maybe because here's too many songs. it has a lot of good songs, but i think it should have been better, if they would have put 10 songs instead of 13. but don't understand me wrong, i like this album very much, cause britny fox knows how to rock. my fav. songs: In Motion, Standing In The Shadows, She's So Lonely, Dream On and Shine On.

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: January 29, 2011 at 13:49
This one was pretty slow taking off, with "Standing In The Shadows" being the first video, and getting only scant airplay. "Dream On" was starting to generate a little buzz when Dizzy Dean got into a fistfight with the rest of the band and quit. Talk about bad timing!

From: rick kerch vzla Date: February 8, 2011 at 12:59
Wow love this album!!!..pretty enthusiastic one indeed ..."In Motion" hell yeah ,great!,"Standing In The Shadows" catchy stuff,"Livin' On A Dream" & "She's So Lonely" both are awesome ones,"Plenty Of Love" rocks good,"Shine On" solid/catchy track & "Angel In My Heart" stands proud too...i don't know if this is their best release but surely it will hook u up easily!.93/100

From: the rocker Date: December 13, 2011 at 22:17
I like this more than the debut, the songs are better for one thing. Standing in the shadows, their cover of Hair of the dog is awesome, Dream on, Angel in my heart, She' so lonely, Living on a dream, Long way from home & Long road are my picks. Not the best vocals ,but nether is Cinderella's and I LIKE Cinderella!

From: pie75 Date: April 15, 2012 at 5:36
good follow up though i don't agree with most people here i think the first is better i've always been a sucker for ac/dc inspired rock

From: Scotty11672 Date: February 22, 2021 at 2:23
Hands down the best britney fox album. I was a senior in high school when it came out. Angel in my heart is such a great song. I used to put this album on, strap on my guitar and play along. Great memories associated with boys in heat!

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: October 10, 2022 at 16:21
When I first went away to college in 1998, my only CD player was in my full-size stereo system at home. I didn't have a Sony Discman, and my boom-box only had cassette decks. So aside from dubbing copies of a handful of my favorite CD's, I brought along a lot of my old hair-metal tapes. My roommate had only gotten into music in high school, and he liked the typical hard alt-rock and nu-metal you heard on the radio at the time. But when I was playing my music, there were two songs I remember him really perking up and taking notice. One was "Same Jane" by Kix, and the other was "Long Way From Home" by Britny Fox. Somehow, I have never forgotten this.
