While Lenny has released respectable albums since the self redeeming putting critics in their place 'In Your Face' such as the wonderful Master7, nothing has really satisfied old school fans quite the same. Yet Outlier offers plenty to like, still plodding nothing too up tempo (first 3 tracks GodDoesNotSingOurSong, RunningHighDistortion & RoughRideRallye all sit about the same gear) & still plenty reliant on atmosphere & modern sounds & whatnot, thankfully things still lean heavily on guitars and it's the songs that save the day - TheTrapIsAlive the best rocker on offer. Again Lenny provides his usual thoughtful lyrics giving Outlier more meaning than one might first think. Many of the songs benefit from being unique bringing the album much needed freshness. Lenny sounds & performs his usual solid self & production is on! Rambling here but record deserves it, somewhat progressive & more epic than complex, Outlier makes for one of the more reliable KC records for some time - Rating 8.5
