One of few Long Island classics that genuinely was just that, well in parts anyway. Fans of Bon Jovi and Blue Tears will get a lot from these tracks as the vocalist is in the same mould, and the songs are anthemic melodic rock. In fact "One More Night" and "Surrender" are two of the best I've ever heard in the genre. "Fire in the Rain" is a great ballad too, but the middle of this album is a let-down. As is their follow-up album "Witch Doctor" which is garbage. Worth getting IMO. 8/10. |

Yes, this must be one of the best releases from Long Island...pure AOR/Melodicrock album from this Canadian band.I think they have a sound like Norways debut album, plenty of keys and good harmony vocals. To me the best songs are "One more night", "Long Distance Rider", "Dangerous Eyes" and "Don't Let Go". This is for every fan of straight 80s AOR. |

Agree with Tim that the middle of this album is a total let down, but disagree with the Blue Tears / Bon Jovi comparisons personally. This to my ears is closer to Shotgun Symphony than anything else. The singer is a total Tracy White clone and the tunes are drenched in Pomp style keyboards Asia/Shotgun Symphony style. One More Night, Try To Leave It, Fire In The Rain and Surrender are all great...the rest of the album leaves a lot to be desired. Not classic, but good for the ebay price. 7/10 |

One of those obscure Canadian albums originally released in 1988 on Toronto based Axe Records. The vinyl was quite hard to find, commanding good money in the early 90s until Long Island Records got a hold of it and made it available on CD as part of their "Classic" series. The music is good quality melodic aor with elements of hi-tech, though some folks may struggle with the slight nasal quality of Camparellis vocals. Simon Chase were also backed up by a few Canadian session musicians that had been involved with bands like Wrabit (Pomanti) and Stan Meissner/Ian Thomas (Cardinali) |
