Iron Maiden are lucky to have Bruce back in the band cause this albums was way better than anything Maiden did in the 90's. Every track is a killer but my favorites are the tracks 2,3,5 & 8. This album also features Maiden guitar player Adrian Smith and it shows as well, because this is the kind of classic heavy metal album that's so rare these days. A nod to producer/songwriter/guitarist Roy Z as well for all his contributions. Check out Accident Of Birth as well, both albums are fantastic!!

Maiden are way over rated and the same goes for any Dick album.....retire!!!!!!!!

From: Angelheart Date: September 29, 2002 at 16:47
I wonder why maiden with Bruce and Adrian back havent composed a album as equal or better as the perfection of chemical wedding!

this was the cd that got me back into maiden.let me explain it had been about 8 years since i cared for this band, then a band named creed came along and for some reason made me think of maiden. it was then that i came across this cd at hastings record store and said what the heck and i have never been the same. total ass kicker cd.

This is good, but not nearly as good as the awesome Accident of Birth. I was a bit disappointed with the more modern direction.

From: Rycheage Date: July 21, 2003 at 19:08
Some of the tracks are very 90's friendly ("Trumpets Of Jerico", "King Crimson", "Chemical Wedding") and others are rooted in medieval influenced epic metal ("Gates Of Urizen", "Jerusalem"). The best track I can see here is the third track, "The Tower". It's heavy but still retains a little melody.

What is going on with this guy; After the amazing ACCIDENT returns with an outstanding, buttkicking, heavier concept album!!the great voice is here, the great production is here.Adrian is here again!Roy Z is a big talent and a great songwritter! The Epmeror sits on his throne again!

From: Fat Freddy Date: December 29, 2003 at 18:39
picking up where ACCIDENT OF BIRTH left off, Bruce and band deliver another slab of HEAVY metal on this one. A bit slower and less polished than ACCIDENT (think Black Sabbath, less Iron Maiden) but still phenomenal. A worthy followup to ACCIDENT and you know what? Maiden with Bruce back in the band still hasn't done a record that equals Bruce's last two solos!

This album opened the door for a new age of hard rock. It's original, it's mature, it's a bible of composition and interpretation and it focus on deeper subjects. I just can't understand why he had to return to Maiden after such a masterpiece. I like Maiden very much, but Maiden aren't doing anything new and this guy was paving a fantastic new way for rock in his solo albums. Dickinson does his own thing, he doesn't imitate nobody. Please, come back with a solo release. This is pro hard rock!!!

ozzy you shouldn't make silly comments saying maiden and bruce are overrated you mustn't like heavy metal they made some of the all time classics anyway about this one it was the perfect follow up to AOB the former i think had some better songs but this is a great heavy album i don't think there's a bad track here i got the 3 bonus tracks too bruce and adrian after this would of course go on to rejoin maiden

A good album overall...maybe not that exceptional but fulfilling that is at the end what us the listeners want ...tracks 5,8,9 & 11 are my faves...scream for me Bruce!!!...85/100
