This was one of my favorite from these guys! Does anyone know if "Miss Mystery" was used in a movie? Black N Blue should have made it BIG!!! They still have a big following and are thinking of getting back together. Good luck finding this one cheap! I am sure they will re-release it.

Yeah this is good album. Jon Bon Jovi heard this and knew that was the sound he wanted. So he got the producer, Bruce Fairburn to produce 'Slippery when Wet'-- Or so the story goes. Listen to it. It sounds like it could be 'Slippery Pt. 1' BnB's next, 'Nasty Nasty' was good too, but produced by Gene Simmons, who made them sound kind of like Kiss.

Oh man I agree what a fun , summertime, windows rolled down pop metal album. Severely underrated band and could have been huge if they continued in this vein but Gene Simmons just DEMOLISHED these guys chances and that's a shame. Really if you can get this it's just a great toe-tapper smile on your face the whole time with the headphones on album. Man when this came out I played it to death and I still dig it.

I agree that Gene Simmons killed the band stone dead. The next 2 albums were good and average in turn but got nowhere near this album. Gene Simmons should be ashamed of himself (yeah right...that'll happen)

I recently dusted off the LP I have of this, threw it on the turn-table, and wondered to myself how this album didn't become a huge hit. The first five songs (side one on the ole LP) are as good as any hard rock album of the 80's. TOP NOTCH!!!

Awesome release by these guys...the first 5 tracks are superb and track 7 is very good as well...Track 9 is my absolute fav...I think this is the best of the 4 main releases (well, I've only heard a few tracks off of Nasty Nasty and I refuse to pay $100+ for a CD)...Just saw them live at the Revolution in Cleveland and they still sounded awesome...Highly recommended CD!!

Count me among the thousands who think this album is incredible! I bought it when it first came out and it remains top 10 in my book. Word has it that they are trying to re-issue the whole catalog, check crazyplanet.com. Gene Simmons should be neutered for turning these guys into hack corded rock pigs. Or maybe Jaime and the boys got nervous and thought Gene would lead them to the money. Ask Gypsy Rose, Gene does no good for anybody except himself. "Without Love" is a must have album.

This band must be cursed; that's the only explanation as to why this album didn't go to the top of the charts. "Rockin' on Heaven's Door" & "Two Wrongs (Don't Make It Love)" should've dominated American radio. These guys blew away 99% of their competition, thanks to an incredibily monstrous pop-metal sound. Ask me to name the top 20 CDs I can't live without and this gem will be on the list, no doubt about it. A must-own classic for anyone who loves big, explosive hair-metal.

Hey, Black and Blue was the master of the finale of the 80`s hard rock, listen trixter and you Know what i say. B& B create a new hard rock style, and nobody say it. And the boy who say that this band suck and motley crue rules its a jerk. Black and blue rules, motley only have two decent records.

Black n' Blue were terrific, and this was their best. The first one is fantastic, and it only got better on this release. Anybody know that they have re-formed (without Thayer, guitarist) and are releasing a new one VERY soon...aptly enough, it's to be named "Hell Yeah!". :-)

I loved Black -n- Blue, but this was definitely their worst album. Way too commercial, no edge at all.

As far as hard rock goes the first two Black and Blue discs will always be at the top of my list. Commercial? Sure but who cares- they rock like a bitch. Really curious to hear how Warrant will sound with Jamie St. James singing. No offence to Jani but i think Jamie is a much better singer and i think some of those older Warrant tunes are gonna sound pretty intense.

This is in my top 100 albums of all time. Totally under-rated band. Their first 3 albums are all great (not good...GREAT) and their 4th and final album was very good as well. Such a shame it never happened for these guys. I used to buy albums from bands I didn't know and listen to them and put them in two piles, one for those that I thought would be huge and one for those that I thought would just disappear. I was was right 95% of the time, but not about Black N Blue. BUY ALL OF THEIR ALBUMS!!!!

Arguably the best Black 'N Blue CD. My personal favorite because of the songs Without Love and Miss Mystery. Black 'N Blue is my all-time favorite '80s Metal band. Got to meet Jamie St. James last night (August 7, 2004). He informed me of a new Black 'N Blue CD coming out called "Hell Yeah". Can't wait to hear it! Jamie does a great job singing for Warrant! Buy all four Black 'N Blue CDs or your only cheating yourself out of the best rock music ever! Can't wait for a Jamie-fronted Warrant CD!

Looking back, B&B was one of the better acts out there that should have been bigger...many may disagree, but I loop B&B in there with Autograph. Both wrote very catchy and crafty songs with hooks. I love "Nature Of The Beach." That one just takes me back to 1985 with a big smile on my face.

A bit more polished than the debut but my favorite of the Black and Blue catalog. Almost popish at times but the songs are very strong. Jamie is at his best. I feel that this is maybe too overproduced. They should have just let the boys in a room, plug in and hit the record button. Never seen 'em live but I bet they would have been KILLER. Standout tracks: Miss Misery, Swingtime, Stop the Lightening and the title track. All are good though. On my must have album list. 10/10

Black 'N Blue's most poppy CD, Without Love is guaranteed to bring back memories of cruising and beach tripping. With sing along choruses, bouncy melodies, an enigmatic singer and tight production by Bruce Fairbairn, this one should be on the radar of any fan wishing to find the best music that the hair metal decade had to offer. File among the ranks of Autograph, Cinderella and Britny Fox. One of the unsung hereos of the genre. Solid 9/10.

'Rockin' on heaven's door' is essential commercial hard rock, and as far as I'm concerned 'Miss Mystery' is easily the best song these guys ever did, and nothing short of stunning - worth the price alone. I'm one of the few who thought these guys were just good, but not overly great. Good solid hard rock, always enjoyable.

Hi Dreamaholic (cool name..) -> All the albums had been rereleased some years ago. Especially for this one the price went out of the roof before, but now it's easy to get (e.g. schmankerl-records). I didn't buy it 'cos for my taste it's a bit too 'rough' and too much glam hardrock..

Very Good Melodic Hard Rock album, Glam???

This one comes in as my third favorite from this band. Again a hit and miss kind of thing, but again what is good is oh so good!!! "Without Love", "Miss Mystery", and "Bombastic Plastic" again are just off the hook. I just wish this band could find a little more consistancy. So as usual good, but just not great.

Time to expand... I still don't know which is better: this or the debut. This is some fine hard rock here. Knickin' On Heaven's Door as a super chorus, Without Love with its unforgettable riff, Stop The Lightning has an incredible melodic solo, the ballad Miss Mystery and the hard rocking We Got The Fire remain essential to me. The album is a bit less raw and more polished than the debut but the energy is still there with an ever so slightly softer sound.
