Good melodic hardrock/AOR from the heydays of MTM. Not that sensational but a nice item for you collection. Search it if you don't have it !

Ive seen the early carnation of this band live in New York in 1988.They were called NYC which is stated in the cd booklet. The gig was riddled with sound problems but they were excellent.I even taped the show(naughty but nice!!)The band were Al Greenwood/Tony Bruno/Gary Taylor/Jon Gorman and Chuck Bonfante.Anyway the cd is excellent .

For the first few tracks, think Saraya with male vocals. But some of these are better than Saraya's debut! You can clearly tell the two incarnations of the band, and the keyboard influenced melodic hard rock era of the band is clearly better than the latter, duller sounding tracks. I recommend this for the strength of the early tracks alone. Some killer melodic hard rock here and well worth the effort, even if you skip the rest (Think Mitch Perry's disc - 2 bands, 4 stunning tracks from 1 band).

Having recordings from 90-98, you can definately hear the style change throughout the disc. The first few tracks are more AOR sounding and the rest of the disc is more melodic hard rock. Pretty good release overall with loads of guest musicians. I especially like tracks 1-3. I have the Japanese version with a bonus track.

only first 3 tracks are excellent melodic songs, but if you´re into aor/melodic: forget the rest and don´t buy this cd.

I completely disagree with darobinson I think this cd picks up as you get deeper into it.The rockers are mostly in the last half of the cd.Starting with Give You My Lovin thru the end of the cd are all great rockin tunes and the singer is exceptional. This was a pleasant surprise, very good melodic hard rock here with really no fillers.Recomended.

i can add that one half of the record have a great finish song and the other half is demo s songs(not finished) with a tiresome and aggressive sound of drums.one bonus track on the very rare japan import.

the New York scene was pretty strong in the mid 80 s and there was a band called NYC that was truly excellent and those recordings are finally in that cd called GARBO TALKS!i m a big fan of Tony Bruno as i consider him as one of the best of the genre and that NYC era is sensational with songs like "only love","hard times",'this could be the night",'foolish heart" and "easy come ,easy go"!all those bands of East Coast bands like Hotshot,Network,NYC lead to those great signings like Saraya,Danger Danger, Heaven s edge etc...Glory days
