Basically the new Valensia album under a new name. Definately the heaviest thing he has recorded yet,and probably the strongest. Opener 'Grim Reaper' is an epic, described somewhere as 'Still Of The Night by Whitesnake concieved by Freddie Mercury'- an accurate description if ever i heard one. 'The Moon' first surfaced on Valensia's 'Luna Luna' mini album a few years ago, but fits in with the rest of the material perfectly, whilst 'Everytime It Rains' boasts a magic hook. Epic in every sense.

This was released in Japan last year, now re-issued in Europe with some bonus tracks. Despite being the heaviest thing he's ever done, it's still not particularly heavy. Check out the opening lyrics to "Magic Chemistry", how much does this guy want to sing for Queen? He steals some Whitesnake song structures here and there, but generally this is amazing stuff. If you imagine the sound of Robby Valentine's solo albums, mixed with the Blue Murder debut, you get somewhere near this.9/10.

"He steals some Whitesnake song structures here and there" -- That's an understatement... The follow up 2005 album is filled with blatant Whitesnake/Blue Murder rip-offs from start to finish... I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at the 2005 album, as I picked out the not-so-subtle similarities in every song... To hear the almost identical structure of Crying In The Rain, or Jelly Roll, with laughably bad lyrics in place of the familiar ones, is hilarious... Bottom line - a complete joke...

TIM(2), the thing is, Queen wanted him to sing for them but he turned them down.I did not mind this album at all but as Axelinger states, "some of the Whitesnake rip offs are jaw dropping stuff". I wonder if Whitesnake's legal team have heard this ?????? If you want to hear why he would be the right man for Queen , check out Valencia's "Queen tribute album" and his version of Bohemian Rhapsody. It's awesome to say the least.

Maybe this does deserve some criticism for plagiarism, but then so do Whitesnake & Blue Murder. They're hardly original are they? People seem to be taking this way too seriously. Agree about the Queen tribute album, "Bohemian Rhapsody" is incredible.

From: Axelinger Date: May 23, 2005 at 13:18
Please explain in detail what sections of the Blue Murder debut fall under the heading of "plagiarism"... Which verse, chorus, lead, solo, etc. did Sykes take from which artist and rework them into an almost identical note-for-note knock-off? Seriously, if you're comparing this Metal Majesty in the same grouping of originality of Blue Murder, then you really need to visit a dictionary to research "plagiarism"... Please don't sully Sykes' stellar reputation by labeling him as a plagiarist...

From: TIM (2) Date: May 23, 2005 at 15:32
I wouldn't question Sykes as a guitarist. But the riffs are just a re-hash from "1987". "Jelly Roll" also just sounds like a Zep B-side, with "Valley of the Kings" sounding mightily like "Crying In the Rain" (play them together). Sykes thought he could re-record "1987" without Coverdale, a decent band, or spending money on production, and it sounded like an album of "1987" outtakes. I wouldnt say it steals as blatantly as M.M, but you cant call it original. The 2nd album was a bit better IMHO.

This is meant as a tribute to Valensia's influences Queen,Whitesnake,Blue Murder etc, so really shouldn't be taken so seriously. He does not deny the fact that this and even moreso the '2005' release sounds in places like those bands - that is the whole point of MM and his Queen tribute album aswell. He has long ago proved that he is a very talented musician that writes in his own individual way - listen to 'Gaia' 'The Blue Album' etc. Just enjoy this (or not) for what it is - A Tribute.

From: Axelinger Date: May 23, 2005 at 20:33
Carmine Appice and Tony Franklin don't constitute a decent band?? Jelly Roll sounds like a Led Zeppelin B-side?? And which songs do Ptolemy, Riot, Black-Hearted Woman, Billy and Sex Child sound like off 1987? This is getting ridiculous, suggesting that Sykes re-made 1987 with re-hashed riffs as his own vehicle... If there are similarities, it's only because Sykes himself co-wrote most of the 1987 album, so what was he to do -- overhaul his style completely? Sykes "stole" nothing...

What a stealer..!!! Valensia trys to be a composer but he fails!!! This guy cannot write down a simple rock song... he steals from Whitesnake and Queen and serves them as his own songs... This is cold blooded stealing and killing!!!Don't even bother to listen to this piece of steal-shit!!!Try out the original ones... What a loser...

Queen alike...this is like listening to a Valensia/Valentine album or a solo Valentine album...the same formula but this one is only from Valensia Clarkson(i'm getting )anyway some "attractive cuts" are "Magic Chemistry","License To Chill","Hope And Glory","Deborah"(solid & nice softy AORish track),"Symphony In V-Minor", "Rock Nor Roll" & "Stars Tonight"...enjoyable???...yes...at the end...85/100
