This is my favorite Aerosmith album, by far. It's the heaviest of their efforts, and probably the only one that the guitars almost drown out Steven Tyler! "Back in the Saddle" pretty much blew me away when I first heard it, and I couldn't help playing the song over and over again, it was that good. The rest of the album was extremely good listening, and deserves a 10 rating all the way!

This is my second favorite Aerosmith album and deserves a 10 all the way. My Fave is their first, but thats because One Way Street is my favorite Aerosmith song. This is the album Slash said he kept playing and playing. Hehehe brainwashed by Aerosmith, lol... Not a bad life!

If you love old Aerosmith than skip all of these albums and buy yourself Pandora's Box. It's a box set of all their classic stuff. No Permanent Vacation or anything after it. Although, Rocks is the only other classic Aerosmith CD that I own. It is my all time favorite! Every song is outstanding and I feel that it is the best work they ever did.

I love this LP and in my opinion it is the best Aerosmith release ever. This captures the band at its creative best. There is so much happening on this LP...the mix is murky and muddy but it is perfect...especially on Rats in the Cellar. Whenever I get depressed at the commercial crap Aerosmith puts out today I listen to this and it reminds me how important this band was...the 1st time around.

Rocks is my 2nd favorite A-smith album behind Get Your Wings, FM radio staples Back in the Saddle and Last Child rocks ass, also a masterpiece is Sick as a Dog, Nobody's Fault and Combination (Joe Perry's debut on vocals). If you're a classic Aerosmith fan and want just one album, then buy this one, many say that Toys in the Attic and Rocks were Aerosmith's best albums. But I think that Get Your Wings was their overall best.

This album is AWESOME! Heavy, bombastic, and ahead of it's time. We get everything from funk metal in Get the Lead Out and Last Child, to speed metal in Rats in the Cellar, to heavy blues based metal in Sick as a Dog. There is also the screaming, ear shattering vocals of Steven Tyler in Back in the Saddle. Lick and a Promise is a heavy guitar romp that allows Joe Perry to smoke! Joe Perry and Brad Whitford just whip Jimmy Page at his own game with this, one of the greatest rock albums ever made.

Another classic album , I wish the could still rock and sound like this. Back in the Saddle, Nobody Fault, and Lick and a Promise are some of the chice songs on this album. This was Aerosmith at there finest in my opinion, Heavy, loud and in your face. Rock on guys.

This was the end of integrity. Everything after "ROCKS" has the elements of 'sucks ass'. How many other bands have produced their first 4 lp's that lack nothing? 'Zep,Yes,ZZ,& Hagar are a few I offer. Musically, Aerosmith are in elite classification at this point of their rock journey. Too bad 'suck ass' things like drugs, booze, ego, & personal problems hitched a ride. They were never the same after "ROCKS". Thanks Aerosmith for your first 4 lp's!

My all time favorite Smith disc. Their most "metal" (if that term was even in use in 1976) and one of my all time favorite albums, period! The first three songs on this album are a 1-2-3 punch that serves as a lesson in what made Aerosmith so great. Too bad their output was hit or miss from here on in..

This is the band at their best. They cut the novelty crap from the last album and deliver an album full of great hard rock, with a good ballad to end it. "Back In The Saddle" might be their best rocker ever and the rest is not far behind. 10/10

I said it last year .. and I'll say it again... the best hard rock album ever..period...end of! Dirty , powerful, agressive, filled with attitude I just wish they could release just one more like this again, they showed they still have the chops on Nine Lives (Crash). But I know it's wishful thinking...would be nice as an undying Aerosmith fan just to hold my head up and say fuck AC/DC these guys still rock harder...please Joe take the reins off Steve!!! Then it could just happen!!

Yes, yes, me likes! The boys from beantown are back with a smokin' album. Much heavier guitar sound and edge on this one. The heavy grooves demand a heavier bottom end and back beat. Which is more than provided. All of that forces a much rawer delivery from Tyler and it all colminates into a killer hard rock album paving the way for later giants like "Appitite For Destruction" by GNR. Tracks 1,2,3,5,and 6 are just kick ass sh*t!!! Another excellent addition the Aerosmith catalog.

Heavy, awesome, in your face and just plain brilliant. The best Aerosmith album in my humble opinion. Not only that but it is up there with some of the best classic rock albums ever. If you like your rock heavy but melodic. Quite bluesy but at the same time mean and very raw. This is a 10/10 album. Pretty much the perfect classic rock album

from the first tunes ,it s easy to see that all the hard rock scene of the 80s is based upon this masterpiece.AEROSMITH at its best i guess.this one is an all time classic and surely a must have

This is THE album which most set the scene for the 80s sleazy hard rock that we know and love. Without Rocks there is no Guns N Roses, Faster Pussycat or LA Guns. This is hard rock history here. No track is filler. It is all killer folks! Has there ever been a better 1-2-3 punch of the first three tracks on an album? I doubt it. Any serious hard rock fan has this album in their collection. 99/100.
