Didn't Gary Moore go this route like about 14 years ago? Maybe Tyler and the boys aren't allowed to play with Britney, N Stync, etc. anymore, so they think the Clapton's, B.B. King's, Albert Collins', etc. will welcome them with open arms into the blues genre... Yeah, sure... Honkin' On Bozo is more like it for these over-the-hill clowns...

Whatever, this is the best album Aerosmith have been involved with since Pump. Blues covers or not, this is how the band are supposed to sound.

'Didn't Gary Moore go this route like about 14 years ago?' NO! Gary Moore started playing traditional blues sounding like the hordes of other aging blues musicians. Aerosmith are still rocking hard. Sure these are covers of old blues standards, but they are done in a hard rocking Aerosmith style, something Aerosmith has excelled at since the 70's. Remember Train Kept A Rollin, Rattlesnake Shake, Walking the Dog, etc. GREAT CD! Don't like it? Ahhh, go listen to your crappy Korn CDs.

by the way, whoever put the comment that this CD contains 'ALL blues covers' is wrong. 'The Grind' is an Aerosmith original.

I dunno how some people seem to be so shocked and distressed over Aerosmith's 'blues' album. I mean not only has Aerosmith ALWAYS been bluesy, especially in the 70's, but hell even on 80s albums, the tracks like Hangman Jury, St John, Monkey on My Back, Voodoo Medicine Man etc. are all exactly like what's on this CD... only they're covers. It's the same old Aerosmith, just playing other peoples songs... it's good stuff, just play loud and rock out, no complaints here!

Have to totally agree with Aero Force on this one!! Aerosmith's greatest moments were the 70's blues infused albums. They have always covered great songs and this set rocks. My only complaint is covering Baby Please Don't Go-everyone and their dog has done this and it isnt as if there is a shortfall in classics. A fine album and 200 times better than Just Push (in the bin) Play.

Best thing they've done in a long time. The band actually let loose for a change. Fans of the earlier albums will probably get a kick out of this. This isn't just blues, it's hard rockin' blues.

I'm not the biggest Aerosmith fan, but I must say that I'm enjoying this one immensely! Good, bluesy hard rock in the same vein as their early efforts. If you enjoy blues based hard rock, you should LOVE this one, 'cause Aerosmith have done an excellent job on these blues classics. Their best release in quite some time!

I can't believe all the hype that Aerosmith is getting for their version of 'Baby, Please Don't Go?' If you wan't to hear a GREAT cover of that song than listen to AC/DC's version on their album '74 Jailbreak.' It's the BEST EVER!

AC/DC's version is great...also check out John Mellencamp's version of 'Baby Please Don't Go' off the Blue Chips soundtrack--smokin'!

I really dig this album! It has that Aerosmith 'swagger' to it that was sorely needed after that atrocity 'Just Push Play' was unleashed on mankind. Perry really shines here and Tyler's voice sounds 'rock-n-roll' again. The guitar work on this disc is incredible and will have all the professional air-guitarist in seventh heaven. GREAT direction for these guys. My sole compalint is actually with the one original tune. How many times can you basically re-write 'Cryin'? Otherwise great!!

Finally, an enjoyable Aerosmith CD. Regardless of what people are saying, I'd much rather listen to this than their previous 2 studio releases any day! I'm sure that's agreeable to most.

Nonsense and crappy album. too much blues in it. Not recommended for fans of hard rock except if you are a die hard fan of aerosmith. Scorpion's unbreakable is much better than this one.

A return to their roots of sorts, but I think I would've enjoyed this more if it would've been an album of originals with one cover, but alas this is what they released. They return to their blues inspired road with this all covers album. I don't hate it as much as 'Just Push (It Over The Edge Of The Mountain) Play' but I wish it was all originals. Not bad though.

They have lost their way never to return to reality, so they think they'll stay in lollipop land. This one is no better than the last studio. I'll keep being patient, because maybe these guys will fall off the wagon and produce something good.

Aerosmith - since 1977 been my fave band (even to the extent of setting up a website to 'em) - But I can't find it in my heart to overly rave about this! Sure the sound is nice and gritty and bodes well for future releases and at least the songs are AEROcized - and have a level of energy that has been missing from recent releases, but I dunno something isn't clicking for me. It's not bad it's just not what I expected after hearing the pre release hype - not a return to the old style as predicted

Man...........this cd is a VAST improvement over "Just Push Play"!!! Lets just hope this "return to roots" finds its way into the next batch of originals they release!! Or at the very least, inspire them to start writing their own songs again!!

Yikes! I had high hopes for this one, but only ended up liking about 3 of the songs. So much for the rock band formerly known as Aerosmith.
