| Really a different kind of band to have gotten signed on a label like A&M after debuting on the label with their 'Dancing With A Gypsy' tune on Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure soundtrack. At the time, glam was IT and here you have these down to earth southern blues hard rockers jamming without the ridiculous make-up and Aqua Net all over the place. That's something you can respect about a band like Tora Tora. From the cover art to the music, I pretty darn good release. Highlight track: 'Guilty'

| Terrible singer? What? I can make absolutely no sense out of that statement. What, the guy's not up to par with Steelheart and doesn't hit the high notes like a girl? So, who gives a fuck? Really there is more to 'Surprise Attack' than 'Guilty' & let me say that all of the band members are good, including the vocals. Corder kicks ass and he has 1 of the more distinctive voices in the genre; I can recognise his voice in about half a second. Also check out Wild America. Terrible singer, bull-SHIT.

| HEY! would you guys cool it! Besides it doesn't matter what either of you have to say. What matters is what I think and lucky for Dokken6008 I think that Tora Tora was pretty damn good! This album is a great hard southern rocker! A PREFECT 10!! And if you want to know what bad singing is just listen to Don Dokken....Now that is horse shit! I would rather listen to a toilet flush.

| An average band for an ordinary cd. Jason please! How can you compare the ordinary Cordel to the mighty Don Dokken. Dokken have influenced lots of hard rock bands with their style. C'mon Jason keep on rewiwing, you really make me laugh.

I know that we all have are own picks on what album/band we feel is underrated. This one is mine. This is a great rock album strait out of Tennessee, these boys rock! Top to bottom, every song is good. It's hard to pick a favorite song off this one. I think of it as one of those CD's that you put in and just let it play! This is one of my fav's of all time.

| Calling Don Dokken a bad singer is a joke. As for Corder, at first it took some time to adjust to his unique singing voice (make no bones about it, this guy ain't 'ordinary') but once I did I found him to be another great under-rated singer. Corder has great potential to advance as a singer. Tora Tora should reband (just like KIX and RATT should) again.

| this one is of the best cd's of hard rock stuff.hard rock with high quality.corder is not my favourite but i think he sings ok.don't waste him for one mistake(i agree that 'phantom rider' comment)i'll always respect this band for their music.also i've heard that keith douglas is working in a damn factory and doesn't want to hear anything from 80's.that's his words.sad to hear him sayin' this.

| just picked up this for the second time since its release and can't figure out why i ever got rid of it - it rocks! god i miss this kinda music! ya know, the kind that took talent to write and play and wasnt all whiney 'my life sucks, i hate my dad' crap (aka Staind, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc). yeah, i know the time for this music is over, but what a shame we've went from music that 'kills,' to the stuff out now that makes you actually want to.

| I gave this a fuckin' 10, but I have to admit the last point was for bringing back memories. This just kicks ass from one end to the other. Even their ballads rock. A better production would have given this an 11, my only complaint being the way the guitars start off crankin' but then get pushed way back in the mix when the rest of the band comes in. Sounds like what we used to call a 'basement tape' but fuck it still kicks ass!

| DOn't have the full album, as I was only nine when 'Walkin' Shoes' was the video all over MTV, but aI wouldn't've minded having it even then. It was just that a $2-a-week allowance could only take Young Master Fizz so far, ya know? Corder's voice ... well, it's not terrible, but it IS very nasal, I'll grant you that.

| At the time the: Crue, Bon Jovi and Poison where being over played. Tora Tora came along with this heavy bluesy sound,like a breath of fresh air! I liked them because they were different and a well organized and talented bunch of guys.

| I came, I heard, I shall speak! Got both these the other day (THANKS!) and here's how I figure this band. Midway between Great White and Tesla. Heavier than GW but less complex than Tesla sometimes got. Excleent guitars all around here. Corder's voice is like a rougher Jack Russell or a higher, more nasal Jeff Keith. Not bad at all in most places, and better on the second one. The Fizz Picks: Tracks 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9.

| I dated Anthony a long time ago and watching them play was wonderful! He has always had a wonderful voice, and the band has been thru alot in their time.....hope they are all still ok.....

| I'm dating Anthony now... just kidding . I agree with the ones who didn't care for the vocals. While they're not bad, they do keep this from being a classic disc. I'd compare Tora Tora to Tesla, except Corder doesn't have the vocal range of Jeff Keith. Still, this is a worthwhile disc to get. The songs are consistantly good, as is the musicianship. Their followup 'Wild America' is slightly better.

| Whoa!!! I just pulled this one out tonight after having been asked if I liked it......OMG......I LOVE IT!!! Funny how you forget sometimes how great something is! 'Guilty' kicks my a$$, big time!!! Followed very closely by 'Love's A Bit@h' and 'She's Good She's Bad'. Like Blue Charvel said......it just kicks a$$ from one end to the other!!!

| Came across this one recently in a bargain bin and it turns out to be a pretty good find. Some southern rock influence in this one. I'm not a big fan of the hit 'Walkin' Shoes', but 'Phantom Rider' is the bands best song, in my opinion. 6/10

| I really like 'Guilty' - killer catchy hard rock, and 'Phantom rider' is cool too. Not an expectional band by any means, but they did what they did well. Good solid hard rock CD.

| Ooops it was called Surprise Attack, my mistake! Still bloody good though. I cant believe some of the comments on this one. It rocks from beginning to end and some songs are just riff city esp '28 days' and the amazing 'One for the Road' ! Also Guilty is one hell of a song.....highly recommended!

| La producción me parece excelente y el grupo aceptable, la voz no es de mi particular agrado diré por contra. 'Guilty' para mí es de lejos la mejor, grandes coros y solos!. La 1,5,7,8 y 9 aceptables. 8/10

| this cd kicks ass it rocks from beginning to end they're glam mixed with a southern rock touch that works well love phantom rider, guilty, walkin' shoes, love's a bitch and 28 days really rock this band could've made it big but grunge had to rear it's ugly head.

| For some reason I know I should like em but I don't??? They bore me...not sure why, voice ain't bad but sounds the same nearly on every song, and the songs (for me) are just not catchy enough. 'Guilty' is good but just misses the mark to be a great song, solos are great and are the only thing that keep me interested, and the Don Dokken thing...DD ain't bad but he ain't a great singer like David Coverdale, Jeff Soto, Rick Hughes, Larry Elkins and Mike Matijevic...KEEP ROCKIN ALL!!!

| This is a must have album....still one of my faves to this day. I prefer this album over all of their others for sure. There really just is not a bad song on this one. My faves are Walkin Shoes, Guilty and Riverside Drive. These guys should have been much bigger. Chalk it up to bad promotion from the A&M label. The awesome cover doesn't hurt either. 89/100

| In his book, Life On Planet Rock, former Rip magazine editor Lonn Friend mentions going to Memphis to attend a showcase gig by a guitarist whose rich daddy wanted his boy to have a try at a major label with his "Van Halen clone" band. He doesn't name the band, but he was obviously talking about Tora Tora, and the characterization is unfair, to my way of thinking. Yeah, Keith Douglas's guitar style is somewhat EVH-like, but much bluesier. Overall, the band comes off a bit like a less Zep-obsessed Great White (Anthony Corder's vocals in particular), with a little bit of early Tesla. This is a good disc overall, catchy tunes with ripping guitars, good production, and jcool cover art. The only weak track is "Being There," a lame, whiny ballad, but my favorites would be "Love's A Bitch," "28 Days," "Phantom Rider," and lead single "Walkin' Shoes." Really, everything's good except for the last track, but I tend to prefer the band's second album a little better.
