Moroder must have had a few too many coffees before going into the studio. Frank Stallone sounds like a studdering idiot on "Bad Night" and Larry Greene gets the same treatment on "Mind Over Matter". The highlights are few and far between: Sammy Hagar's "The Winner Takes It All", Kenny Loggins' "Meet Me Half Way" and Eddie Money's "I Will Be Strong". By the way, the Asia track is Asia in name only: it's actually a John Wetton solo piece and a fairly lame one at that. |

Crappy movie, listenable soundtrack. Originally, Giorgio Moroder wanted John Wetton to sing "Winner Takes it All". Wetton passed when Moroder asked him to sing it in a "Heavy metal" style. Anyway... Sammy Hagar's version ended up being the strongest track on the album(though the Kenny Loggins song wound up being a hit single). If you're a fan of any of the artists on the soundtrack, it's worth checking out. If not, you're not missing out on much. |

I don't agree the comments of eric, koogles and Gar. This soundtrack is great, with memorable songs, as "In This Country" (by Robin Zander, from Cheap Trick), "Gypsy Soul" (by John Wetton, a great singer) and "All I Need is You" (by Big Troube). OVER THE TOP SOUNDTRACK IS GREAT!!!! |
