If you loved the last H.S album "Higher" then you need this. It's very similar styled pop/rock, as is Pete Lesperance's "Down In It" solo album. I can't deny I wouldn't rather play the first 2 H.Scarem albums to this, but it's still has some great moments like opener "Look Right Through Me" and the re-work of "Sentimental Blvrd" (which Hess didn't sing originally). The latter does sound a bit out of place on here though, and his vocals grate a touch on some of this material, but essential for la |

latter-day H.S fans, and better than Lesperance's latest (Jap only) solo album. 7/10. |

Solid solo album from Harem Scarem's excellent Harry Hess. As TIM states, similar to the last couple of HS releases in style, so for fans of those this is recommended. I still prefer him on the awesome HS debut though!!! |

A few average tracks but I'll be damned if there are not some of the finest melodic rock tracks of 2003 on this CD! 'Look right through me' is commercial rock heaven, 'Wasted away' is a highlight, 'Just another day' is a magnificent, hook laden masterpeice, and 'Miles away' was indeed in my top 5 songs of 2003. An unbelievable song. Obviously 'Sentimental Blvd' is great too. 5/10 tracks are simply stunning and the rest are pretty decent too (except 'Everybody'). Great CD. |

I like a lot this cd because I consider Harem Scarem one of my fave(and one of the best)aor bands as ever. This cd is quite in a modern melodick style but melodies are always great in the way I love it(last 2 Harem Scarem cd's).Tracks 1,3 and 9 are the killer here,IMO.The rest is anyway great stuff and Hess is a great singer.8/10. |

Agree that this is a strong album. Softer in the main part than most HS material but still a good listen. Highlights are 1,2,8 (catchy as hell) and 9. By the way, Hess's version of Sentimental B is so much better than the MS version it is almost embarrassing! Worth picking up for that re-worked song alone! This album however is not as good as Pete's solo effort IMHO. |

Alternative Pop/Rock release by the Harem Scarem mainman...not a very solid album in my book to be honest,shamely...the best shot for me is the one that closes the album called "Sentimental Blvd" as it keeps some essence of Hess' mother band...some other reasonable moments are the mid tempos of "Wasted Away","Just Another Day","Two Ways" & "Miles Away"...an album that will fit into fans of The Rembrandts,7th Heaven or Waltham to mention some...70/100 |
