Not a bad effort, but certainly not their best.

From: Wade Date: March 8, 2001 at 14:23
This album is awsome!! Their first album (in u.s.) in going to be appreciated by an older crowd who likes Bon Scott. Classics like 'Live Wire' definitely a 10

From: Rikker Mortis Date: April 28, 2001 at 16:02
Easily their best pre-Back In Black album. Very cool.

From: Stu Date: June 14, 2001 at 0:03
A must own CD. If your a beginning guitarist learn this album inside and out! Its a long way to the top! Learn Ac/DC, Iron Maiden, VH, Captain Beyond, Aerosmith, and Metal Church... its a start!

My least favorite Bon Scott album, due mainly to production, which is quite poor. Big surprise, right? Was the drummer even in the room? Regardless, it's Bon Scott and AC/DC, so you must own it. The Fizz Picks: 'Long Way to the Top,' 'The Jack' (is there anybody that STILL doesn't get the joke here?), 'Live Wire,' 'T.N.T. (despite being flogged to death by radio in the past five years) and 'High Voltage.'

From: TIM Date: October 29, 2002 at 1:18
It's A Long Way To The Top is one of my fav's.

From: jason (FA - Q) Date: February 15, 2003 at 21:39
This album will be re-released on this coming Tuesday along with 'Back In Black' 'Highway To Hell' 'Dirty Deeds' & 'Live'. AC/DC are now with Epic Records, and Epic is going to release the AC/DC collection remastered 'Digi-packs'. You can take the new CD's and link on to a special website.

From: TIM Date: February 15, 2003 at 23:10
Remastered-alright! I've about worn this one out.

From: rising power Date: March 24, 2003 at 0:01
There first. Hits you in the face like a hammer.

From: fasteddie Date: May 21, 2003 at 18:53
It's honest, raw & raunchy, just like AC/DC should be. I like being able to hear the 'low quality' production as if you're in the studio with 'the blokes'. This album has much humor in the lyrics as opposed to Let There be Rock (which is my fave of theirs). A MUST-HAVE CLASSIC.

From: Desslar Date: May 23, 2003 at 4:53
One of their best. Hit after hit after hit. 'Can I Sit Next..' is fun, and 'Little Lover' is a hilariously raunchy 'ballad.'

From: RR-Finland Date: September 2, 2003 at 18:44
Angie: You're sweet Best wishes for you! AC/DC totally rocks. One of the cornerstones of rock. They have always been in their roots and always been faithfull of their music. This one includes classics like T.N.T, The Jack, She's Got Balls and High Voltage. Angus Young and Bon Scott are so ELECTRIFYED together! One of the most important releases in the world.

From: mars Date: March 11, 2004 at 4:25

Chaps, where's Dirty Deeds?

From: Date: May 24, 2004 at 5:24
good cd

From: Big Papa K Date: June 19, 2004 at 0:58
The first full length album release here in the States by AC/DC shows their patented three chors riffing that would continue throughout. Love the bagpipes on the opening track and T.N.T. is another classic. 8/10

From: Metal Jay Date: August 2, 2004 at 20:57
A good hard rocker from beginning to end. 'The Jack' is the best track.

From: Roisin Dubh Date: October 11, 2004 at 16:16
Ok it's an AC/DC album, you buy it you know what you get, three chord boogie and Bon Scott. Contains early classics such as It's a long way..., The JAck, live wire,TNT & high voltage. My version also has rocker (a very take it or leave it effort)and School days (isn't that a reworked 50's Chuck Berry or someone similar type song.) Also has what I would call some obvious fillers (okay some people may like em)but little lover she's got balls and can I sit... just don't work for me. Over all a 7

From: Propane Date: December 2, 2004 at 13:27
This one was a little slow to me. Something missing.

From: roisin dubh Date: March 29, 2006 at 1:58
No frills stuff, just what you'd expect. Not one of their best but much better than their (much) later sell out stuff

From: Metalmusicman Date: January 2, 2007 at 17:38
The production is a little lacking, but the songs themselves more than make up for it I feel and this album is loaded with killer guitar grooves. 'It's A Long Way To The Top', 'TNT', and 'High Voltage' are three of my favorites from this band to this day. Not their best album, but definitely worth having.

From: PC Rocker Date: July 1, 2008 at 13:25
The production on this first U.S. album is fine. I'm probably going to end up writing reviews on all of the AC/DC albums I have, so look for my other reviews on the other albums! High points: 1.) It's A long Way To The Top- 10/10. Great rocker which is fun to sing along with! Did I mention there's bagpipes?!? 2.)Rock N' Roll Singer- 9/10. Fun tune, lots of chords! 3.) The Jack- 8/10. Fun tune, good melody, and very creative lyrics! This actually might be AC/DC's most creative song! 4.) Live Wire- 9/10. This one took me a couple listens, but it's a good track with a cool intro. 5.) T.N.T.- 10/10. NOBODY CAN GO WRONG WITH THIS SONG! 6.) Can I Sit Next To You Girl-10/10. I've always liked this song, even the Dave Evans (1st singer) version. 7.) Little Lover- 6/10. Not a huge fan of this song, just didnt tickle me I guess. 8.) She's Got Balls- 7/10. Not great, but far from bad! 9.) High Voltage- 10/10. Great end to this album, nice rocker! High Voltage album= 9.5/10. Get IT!

From: pie75 Date: March 5, 2009 at 6:42
well guys i gotta say coming from australia this is not the high voltage album more tnt album the only songs off the original high voltage here r little lover and she's got balls still it's acca dacca and it rocks

From: Doghouse Reilly Date: September 28, 2012 at 16:51
Like Dirty Deeds, not my favorite AC/DC album, as I don't feel the band is quite "there" yet. "It's A Long Way To The Top," the innuendo-flavored "The Jack" (if you need to ask, you don't need to know), "Live Wire," "T.N.T," and th title track make it worth owning. From the beginning, the band excelled at simplicity, being the quintessential three-courd, barroom, hard rock 'n' roll band. Greatness will be achieved in the near future.

From: rick kerch vzla Date: May 23, 2015 at 16:40
For me this is a bit better than,as for example, the following one "Let There Be Rock" ...tracks 1,2,3,4,5,6 & 9 are going directly to my book of music...89/100

From: Dramarama Date: April 16, 2024 at 22:29
This album could still come out today and dominate the hard rock scene. Possibly the most influential album in hard rock history.
