| This album is very, very underrated!! This album is right up there with Back In Black!! It just rocks!!! It has that same vibe and fire that Back in Black had, just not as intense!! Should have been called Back In Black II. What a GREAT album!!!!!!!

| Rock-n-Roll, MF! This is a great record, you can't help but groove to it- VERY UNDERRATED! Check it out, one of their very best, and certainly their second best with Brian, next to Back In Black. Title track totally kicks ass, 'This House Is On Fire', all songs rock to the bone. If you don't have it yet, do yourself a favor and get it ASAP! Bon would have been proud!

| AC/DC's peak in mediocrity. A couple of decent tracks here, a bunch of throwaways there. Even the good tracks aren't THAT good, AC/DC spent far too little time on 'Flick Of The Switch' (I guess you could say the same for 'Stiff Upper Lip', even though I thought it to be pretty good). This was a self-produced record by the band--not a good idea. The production totally sucks and the good tunes are too few and far in between to call this a very good cd. 7.2/10.

| It took me awhile to get into this album and now I think its awesome, some kick ass beats and great rock n roll attitude, a definite for any fan.

Flick of the switch is right... the switch to 'auto pilot' mode that AC/DC used in order to coast through the rest of the 1980s. A few good romps here (the obligatory 'gun' track: 'Guns For Hire') and 'Bedlam in Belgium'. So much talk in the above posts about ass kicking, I have to wonder if Beavis and Butthead are using aliases these days. Hmmm... strange I should find them here. (sarcasm)

| I have to agree - talk about underrated. I think this is one of AC/DC's best albums. Great tunes here regardless what others say. I found this to be stronger than many of their other albums in the 90's and more recently. I would still recommend this after Let There Be Rock, Back in Black and Highway to Hell.

| Well, AC/DC released a total of twenty-four songs from their two albums 'The Razor's Edge' and 'Ballbreaker' + 'Big Gun' from '93 which was issued on the Last Action Hero soundtrack, so there isn't really a whole lot to compare. The 90s was a time for AC/DC to tour and kick back. But back in the 80s the band threw out FIVE studio records along with plenty of B-sides and the three new tunes from 'Who Made Who' so what is the comparison?

| Totally agree with you Rising Power! I never even knew this album existed for the longest time because no one listened to it. When I did find it I was told Bon had done the singing not Brian, so I delayed buying it until I found out Brian did do the vocals on it. The first time I heard it, it totally blew me away! It was so raw and powerful and different from anything else I had heard from AC/DC. The whole album just keeps your head banging. Still my fav!

| This was my first ever AC/DC album and MAN did it blow up a young boy's world..! Afterwards I've bought the other albums too, but listen to this maybe more often than the others. Every time I listen to this, I get nostalgic and feel again the moment when I first heard this and realised that rock'n'roll music kicks ass! 'Guns for hire' is an incredible track, as well as the title track & Bedlam in Belgium... hell, they're all great! 10/10!!!

| No no no. It's the back of Angus Young pulling down an oversized power switch. 'Flick of the Switch', get it? On the record cover the image is slightly raised giving it a 3-D effect.

| This was actually the first AC/DC album I ever owned. While I like 'Flick of the Switch' and 'This House is on Fire' alot, the rest of the disc does little for me. There are FAR better AC/DC albums than this one.

| In my opinion Guns for Hire is one of AC/DC:s most underrated songs. I think it's the best one on this album. It's a pity that they don't play any of the tracks from this album or for example Fly on the Wall in their live gigs!

WOW!! What a great album, start to finish! When you get down to the last 3 songs the album really starts to rock. Bedlam in Belgium is such a great song. I would tell you to give it a listen, but I'm sure you already have.

| To the guy who asked where to find this album in the states: The entire AC/DC catalog was re-issued in mid-2003 by Epic/Legacy Records so it should be fairly easy to find nowadays. The reissues don't have any bonus tracks but they're packaged in a nice cardboard digi-pak with lots of vintage photos and cool liner notes in the booklet. Happy hunting and hope this helps...

| 'Flick of the Switch is easily one of the most underrated albums in rock'n' roll. And certainly AC/DC's most underrated peroid! It's SUCH A SHAME that this album didn't sell like it should've. I went int olistening to this album thinking it would be bad, but by the title track, I was wondering how i could've ever thought that! If you kinda lik AC/DC, Buy it, you'll love it. And if you're a big AC/DC fan, GO BUY IT RIGHT NOW! YOU'LL FRIGGN' LOVE IT! Bottom Line: Get It, Play it,and you'll Love it

| A nice comeback album after the dissapointing 'For Those About To Rock We Salute You'. This starts the trio of albums in the Johnson era that are mostly forgotten, but this is a strong album in itself. the title track should have been as big of a hit as most of their other title track songs ('Back In Black' and 'Highway To Hell'). 9/10

| I guess i'm gonna sound like a broken record but I have thought that 'Flick' is one of the most underrated AC/DC albums ever or for that matter of any band!I have thought that for a while!Kind of like Brian Johnson's answer to Bon's Dirty Deeds!!!!Awesome album!!!

| Almost a year since I posted above on this and I feel the same about this sonic slab of savagry. The best AC/DC album period for the Brian Johnson years. Picks up where Back and Black left off with enough swagger than a wolverine hopped up on crytal meth. 10/10

| This is the first Ac/dc album that started what I feel is a trend that will haunt them for the rest of the decade and then some. That trend is putting out albums that have a few really stellar tracks and a whole lot of filler and I love this band too much to slam them over and over again. So this will be my last review for the band, as it really applies to all following discs as well. I keep buying each new release hoping for more, but 'Stiff Upper Lip' is as close as it's got. I'll keep trying.

| One of my favorite AC/DC albums. If I remember correctly several tracks got plenty of airplay in San Antonio, Texas. I still reach for this one quite often as it is my second favorite after Back in Black of the Brian Johnston fronted AC/DC.

| i see people are split on the reviews of this album why? they just wanted to get back to basics after they had bells and cannons going on in the last 2 but people this is a very raw and hard ass album and i love phil rudds drumming on here he certainly left with a bang from start to finish it rocks love rising power,nervous shakedown,badlands and bedlam in belguim best i think this is the most underrated albums in rock i really love it and so should you

This album marked a pre & post AC/DC sound IMO...an edgy Hard Rock but at the same time with a catchy "american style" vibe..."Rising Power","Flick Of The Switch","Landslide","Guns For Hire" & "Brain Shake" are my faves...85/100

| Conventional wisdom tells us that Flick Of The Switch is the first album of the rest of AC/DC's life, beginning a decades-long period of coasting on past glories. And you can certainly argue that the long slide into mediocrity is a real thing, where the music became a job that you go to rather than something you do to avoid having to get a job. But lots of rawkers in the know (many admittedly with a contrarian streak) absolutely LOVE this album. For me, it's not a top-shelf AC/DC album like Back in Black or Bon Scott's last three, but it is one of their better second-tier records. It's immediately more lively than For Those About To Rock—or almost immediately. "Rising Power" starts the disc with one of those oddly sluggish, leaden songs that so overloaded the previous album. There are a few more like it scattered through the rest of the album ("Nervous Shakedown," "Deep In The Hole"), but the rest is much more headbangable.

| It's like if Back In Black had started off with "Let Me Put My Love Into Y." Luckily, "This House Is On Fire" and "Badlands" overcome their slower tempos by the sheer fist-pumping power of their choruses, while the title track, "Guns For Hire" (which slipped into the lower reaches of the Billboard Hot 100, and then back out again), "Bedlam In Belgium" and "Brain Shake" all have an engery that showed itself only sporadically on For Those About To Rock. And that energy is a big part of how the album succeeds, despite some songs beginning to sound a bit samey.
