A new CD from the band that will never evolve and deserves it's place in rock history. 'Black Ice' released a few days ago is supposed to move 800,000+ units in the first week alone. Pretty stunning in this MP3 age when the only exclusive retailers are Walmart and Sam's Club. I was hoping after this band's obsession with 'HELL' based lyrics that they might shock us with a song about Heaven, since their not getting any younger(maybe their first ballad?). The opening track and first video 'Rock N Roll Train' is meat and potatoes AC/DC as this release is probaly their best since 'The Razors Edge' I don't know about the regulars on this site but I'm tired of seeing pointless comments like the one above from SPAN-TURD. Even if your not into a band you should try to give them a honest review and number rating. Exhibit A, SPAM-TARD gives ICON - Night of the Crime a 10 number rating? KERRANG magazine has rated that release with various polls in their top 3 albums of all time. Mucho Dumb-O

This is definitely better than Stiff Upper Lip and Ballbreaker. Or Blow Up Your Video for that matter. Not as good as their first half-dozen or so albums, but what the hell, what is? It's respectable, and got some good tunes on it. The one thing i don't like is the very high number of plodding, slow/mid-tempo songs. Tunes like 'Stormy May Day,' 'Rockin' All The Way' and 'She Likes Rock n' Roll' are just boring. On the other hand, 'Smash n' Grab' and 'Money Made' are two of my favorites, along with 'Rock n' Roll Train,' 'War Machine' and 'Wheels.' I give it a 75.

Oh so many great songs on this release! It appears the wait was well worth it. The thing that really grabs me about this album is the drumming. I am extremely impressed with the job Phil Rudd does here. That and the production aspect, absolutely amazing! To top it off the songs are inspired and Angus is in top form throughout. Just listen to 'Big Jack' or 'Smash N Grab' for starters to hear some great playing! If you started losing interest in AC/DC after Fly On A Wall or Blow Up Your Video I would suggest giving this release a good listen...it really calls to mind early 80's AC/DC in a big way.

I agree with the positive comments! Back to the true AC/DC! 'Stiff Upper Lip' was a very disappointing album to me but this one is clearly a true winner. What a drum's sound!! Terrific!!. 'Rock N' Roll Train' 'Anything Goes'(a'la Bruce Springsteen) 'War Machine'(reminds me of the classic 'Given The Dog a Bone'!!), 'Big Jack' 'She Likes R'N'R' 'Rock N' Roll Dream'...: My Faves. Can't wait to see AC/DC on tour here in South America!!. This one is on my Top 1 Disc in Rotation at the Moment and can't stop it. 9/10

Tipycally AC/DC sound!!!.I agree with some comments above about how good the album is and so on but..is there anything here that we haven't heard before???.AC/DC is a legend and that's unquestionable but personally i think they need 2 put on some 'fresh ideas'.We need some songs ala 'Back In Black'!!!(That's an album..that's the album....unrepeteable).80/100

I expected more out of this album...after 8 years this is the best they could do ? The hype was over-rated. I was looking for that one song that just really kicks it and found none. Is it vintage AC/DC sound, yes. Not as good as the B in B or Razors Edge. 75/100

AC/DC already has a ballad. It occured in the Bon Scott era, On Dirty Deeds, their one and only ballad "Ride ON."

This is not my favorite CD, too commercial. Let there be rock a classic AC/DC album and is STILL being played live by the boys to this day. I started my band with it. this is our web: http://whisperok.tripod.com

If they change to something more comercial they get flack for it...if they "do the same ol' thing again" they get flack for it...When I first heard Rock 'n' Roll Train on the radio I deceided to buy this one and I don't regret. A very solid release and yes: It's the same ol' stuff again, so what?
