This is an absolute must have simply because it was there first and if you don't it then you are not a true AC/DC fan.

There is a type-o on this page. The list of band members is WRONG. When these songs were recorded back in '74 through '76, Cliff Williams was NOT the bass player. The guy that played bass on these recordings is Mark Evans. He left the band after 1976 and was replaced by Cliff Williams in 1977.

One more thing........The date up on top IS right (1984). The songs were recorded in the mid 70's but, these songs weren't released in the U.S. until 1984.

j., wasn't this an instrumental album? Or was Dave--AC/DC's original poster-boy(didn't fit with the band)--singing on this one? I am almost certainly positive that Bon is not on 'Jailbreak'. How's the production like on this one with the digital remastering and all?

This is Bon singing, just for some reason the band decided to release this Ep years after the fact in 1984.

This album was released in the US on Oct. 15th 1984. These song were only released in Australia before that. 'Jailbreak' is off the Australian release of Dirty Deeds and was not put on the US release. Dirty Deeds was released in Australia in 1976 and wasn't released in the US until 1981.

Just for the record. Cliff Williams is listed as the bass player on this page. Thats not true! Mark Evans played bass on this compilation.

Yep Jailbreak is from Dirty Deeds Done Dirt cheap (for some reason the US release left it off, best song on the album!). The other songs appear on AC/DC's REAL debut album 'High Voltage'. The US release of High Voltage is actually their 2nd album 'TNT'.

It's a pitty that they never released the australian versions over here. That's why this is a comforting release. Yet it still misses: Stick around,Love song,School days,Rock in peace,Crabsody in blue and Cold hearted man.

Definitely should have been a full length album with ALL the tracks that were deleted from the U.S. albums. As it stands, this is a great E.P. The songs are all excellent and deserve to be in every AC/DC fan's collection.

i don't see why they released it in '84 when the songs were recorded in '74-'76,if anyone knows why say it here other than that they are great songs (especially Jailbreak)

A collection of a few of their tracks from the early Australian albums. 'Jailbreak' is a great song. Love the buildup to the chorus with Bon' storytelling. The rest is not much, but it is worth it alone for the opener. 5/10

One that is for serious collectors only. Nothing special, a collection of early 70's material released to cash in on their burgeoning fame. Standard fare with nothing really outstanding. Got it to plug a gap in the collection

AC/DC was in a weird place when this came out in 1984. Fans did not take to 'Flick Of The Switch' (which imo is their best) so they put this out to appease the Bon fans who they thought of might of jumped ship. True fans had heard these songs before. I remember the video for 'Jailbreak' when it debut on Video 22-a excellent music video program in the mid 80's who played AC/DC to death!! Loved em for it!!

Very cool e.p., but for fans only really. Worth having just for the title track alone.
