Chrissy rocks with the help of Mr. To Loud Macleod. The result is a nice charged up piece of music. If you like this one, check out the headpins on the Canadian Classic Rock page and rock on.

It's rather amusing, cuz i picked this album up over ten years ago with never hearing a single thing about it, but I got it home and LOVED it. She is a one-woman Vixen. It really pisses me off, too, cuz my tape deck ate the tape, and I haven't been able to find it again, not even in used stores. But now I know that I can get it online. Anyways, the one thing that disappoints me the most is that music no longer has that "Hard rockin'" sound like it used to.

Chrissy Steele is my favorite female singer. She'so powerful and beautiful....Let's rock'n roll. It's too bad brian MacLeod as left the building. You were a super duet.I met her in Quebec city several years ago and she's a really nice person. I'm just sad we don't ear anymore about her. I'm the the guy that didn't buy you a drink in 14 straight nights in Quebec city and LÚvis. I'd really like to know what's going on whith your carreer. Please if you're available, "Marry me". This is one of the best female hardrock CD's ever made. I think a second CD will never appear. Very tough and hardrocking, a must for every hardrockfan. Glad to see this item high rated !

From: Kristian Date: May 1, 2003 at 21:05
Man I love this album, and like the rest of you, I'd really wish she would make another album. Does anyone remember the video for "Love You 'Til It Hurts"? One Of the best videos ever made, Damn She's Hot!!!

From: SPOTLIGHT Date: May 7, 2003 at 15:49
This was an awesome fuckin' album. CS should've been bigger. There was a lot of talent here. One of my favorite albums!

From: Tony Date: May 12, 2003 at 18:14
Geez hate to be a wet blanket here but this album kinda falls under that "have to have everything hair metal" banner if you're looking to check this out. Not horrible by any stretch of the word but nothing 12 years later you'll still go "holy s#@t" too. Best tunes are "Cry Myself To Sleep" & "Love Don't Last.." which are basically pop songs with the guitars turned up. She is smokin in the looks department though and I still got my record store promo poster of the front cover. Worth $7!!

From: vince griffin Date: July 16, 2003 at 19:43
I'm curious to know if Chrissy Steele will ever have another cd of her own because she had only one & then dissapeared?

From: chris Date: August 12, 2003 at 13:29
hi to chrisse..loved your album..i first saw you before it came out in prince george.."The Rockpit" i think it was called..you really rocked the house down..awesome versions of "still of the night" and "smokin" ..i remember she kept asking the crowd it they wanted to hear acdc..then refused to play it..it was funny..chris johansen in prince rupert

From: wendal09 Date: November 18, 2003 at 12:05
aaah I love this CD. Only a couple of tracks (3 and 5) where her voice gets just a bit to shrill for me, but otherwise every song is a good listen. Chrissy has good range. Moves between Saraya and Fiona. Smokin' hot too!!

I'm getting "Magnet To Steele" remastered with 24bit technology in North Vancouver very soon. I find the CD sounds "flat" by today's standards. When I lived in St. John's, NFLD, three of your songs got medium airplay on OZ-FM. I was always a fan of Vancouver rock since the 70's. I still pay my respects to Brian McLeod every April 25 and June 25 at Oceanview cemetery. On June 28, 1992, we kicked off the first Brian McLeod birthday memorial benefit for cancer research in St. John's. CHEERS!

From: Blaine Tobin Date: February 2, 2004 at 15:05
I still know the guitar chords and lead breaks to EVERY song on "Magnet To Steele". I have them all wrote down. I'll need a new MESA-BOOGIE amp and a new guitar. Let's record and tour!!! Brian McLeod is the reason I learned to play guitar.

From: Blaine Date: February 2, 2004 at 23:06
The ultimate British Columbia CD! I remember playing this disc on my discman while I walked around the Stanley Park sea-wall.

From: Blaine Date: February 2, 2004 at 23:14
Why has Vancouver radio stations like 99.3 The Fox and 96.9 Jack-FM forgotten about your music? They play alot of repetitive music like Queen, REM, and Foreigner. JACK no longer plays New Wave. I'm no longer going to listen to the radio until the summer when I can listen to 98.9 Smooth Jazz KWJZ from Seattle. Anyway, Chrissy, I hope you're reading this. Can you sign my two CDs? One has a circular scratch from an old Kenwood CD player. CHEERS over in Victoria.

From: Blaine Date: February 11, 2004 at 1:06
My CD is now being digitally re-mastered with 24bit technology!!! Gonna sound even better. iamCANADIAN.

From: Blaine Date: February 17, 2004 at 4:38
Got it polished up at last! The original has almost no bass and volume is low. I got the audio raised and more bass added for depth. 5 stars!!!

From: CWK Date: March 4, 2004 at 3:18
My favorite song on the CD was 2 lips don't make a kiss. Should have been a single. Rock on Chrissy....strong material...still waiting for the follow-up!

From: Joe Date: June 16, 2004 at 23:13
I just wanted to say that I love my Chrissie Steele tape. I've almost worn it out, and need to buy it on cd. I hope to hear more from you in the future, because you rock girl! PS to Chrissie: I'm single, if you're looking (and I play guitar too!) lol

From: Louis Date: June 17, 2004 at 2:08

One of the very best female fronted releases ever. There ar rumours that Chrissy will release another record soon. Fingers crossed !

Love Don't Last Forever ne of the best aor ballad ever.absolutely powerful, melodic.Just perfect.great album.great voice.

From: Jonny_B Date: August 25, 2004 at 15:39
Ironic that a great one-and-done solo artist didn't have ANY songwriting credit to her own album. This is essentially a Brian MacLoud-written, glorified Headpins album. I'm guessing that Brian didn't want the singer (who sounds similar to the replaced Darby Mills) to be associated with the Headpins name. Nevertheless, this is one of those essential female-fronted albums that you can't pass up. "Love Don't Last Forever" is a monster ballad with Mark Slaughter dueting on vocals. BUY NOW!

From: Deadshot Date: September 1, 2004 at 7:06
My favorite song is "Move Over". Just the thing for rockin' a building down to it's foundations! I also love "Two lips don't make a kiss", and "Cry myself to sleep". I have a video tape of a live performance. If anyone knows where I can get it on DVD, please e-mail me at Sundivers@hotmail.com

From: Geoff Date: September 1, 2004 at 7:50
I tried to like 'Two bodies' and 'Two lips don't make a kiss' and whilst I do still like them, those lyrics just detract from two killer songs. I like them, but could have been better. However the same cannot be said for 'Love don't last forever'. That is just a f*cking excellent song and there's nothing else to say about it. I'm not a fan of this CD at all, but I do love the ballad! Decent hard rock overall.

One of my favourite Female Canadian releases of alltime, along with the 'Lee Aaron' s/t from '87 and one of Brian Mcleod's best productions.Definately surpasses The Headpins and Allannah Myles of this world, and is better than the Darby Mills solo cd which, is saying something, as that is a terrific album.

From: The Dolphin Date: October 20, 2004 at 13:04
Darby Mills solo album is better(better songs, better quality of sound)

From: Jose Date: November 10, 2004 at 10:54
I just see her video, WOW!!!!!, this girl is really good the music is amazing. By the way, you can download the video "love you till' it hourts" at melodicrock.com (you have to paid a suscription to Melodicrock EXTRA).

She's good, she sounds like Ann Wilson.

From: Eugenio Chahin Date: January 4, 2005 at 12:16
Excelent! Top Notch!

From: Nanteau Date: February 6, 2005 at 13:29
Someone here told me to check this one and I don't regret it at all, on the other hand the "deeper" drums reminds me of someone playin' basketball at the school's sportshall while you try to write a test. On the other hand the production is way too flat, you need a strong bass boost to adjust that. That's the awful side of it besides the 3rd track ("Move over") which is too much "wailin'". It's annoying to me.

From: Nanteau Date: February 6, 2005 at 13:41
Well, talk about the better things here: My favourite tracks are "Armed and dangerous", "Magnet to steele" which has such an awsome chorus I'm looking for all the time & "Two lips" which reminds me of the best LOVERBOY tracks "Can't get much better", "Lovin' every minute of it" & "Gangs in the streets" (you know, the big 'n catchy guitar lines). The first track is hot as well and the ballad ("Love..") could have been big with a better chorus. Chrissy, I give you an 8 out of 10 for this one

From: zld Date: February 15, 2005 at 11:05
JAPAN VERSION HAS A KILLER BONUSTRACK: BLOOD FROM A STONE

From: headbanger4life Date: January 26, 2006 at 2:10
Chrissy really has a beautiful voice and can hit the high ones. The music is pretty good (but at times average) hard rock, but add her vocals to it and I was very pleased. The ballads just made me drool all over the cd case with lust.........uhm, I mean love.

From: ROBERT Date: January 30, 2006 at 10:50
No lo he escuchado, ┐Me lo recomendais?

From: aorteto Date: January 7, 2007 at 15:32
Very good production and sound, but average hard rock/melodic rock. Sorry

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: October 21, 2007 at 12:16
Full Hard Rock'n'Roll temas muy movidos y con esa voz suave y melodica que hace interesante el disco, cortes como "Two Bodies" una balada a medica ca˝a y que decir de "Muerder in the First Degree" con inicio misteriso y melodico, pero no puedo dejar de pasar el mejor tema del albun "Cry Myself To Sleep" HardRock/AOR, un temazo!!!! recomendado amigos mios a escuchar buena musica... Salu2

From: hernanHRM/AOR Date: October 21, 2007 at 12:18
Rafo porque tan bajo Rating a este albun???

EXCELENTE

From: Tim Date: January 26, 2008 at 22:21
Excellent CD! Great vocals from Chrissy (she's nice to look at too), and awesome guitar by Brian. With Tim Feehan, Mike Reno, and Mutt Lange writing, you can't go wrong. Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod died shortly after this release, and supposedly Chrissy stepped away from the music scene after that.

From: ryerordstar Date: March 6, 2008 at 13:57
I bought this CD when it came out just because I thought the chick on the cover was hott. When I put the disc it, it was hot. This disc has some great track on it, Magnet to Steel is my personal fav as is Two Bodies. We sure do miss you Chrissy, this is one hard rock gem I am glad I discovered.

From: hair metal again Date: September 2, 2009 at 9:15
excellent hair metal release by chrissy steele.by the total guidance of tim feehan in songwriting nothing can go wrong.strong vocals, nice guitars and production bybrian mc leod, catchy songs and commercial hard rock tunes."love don't last forever" oh my god what ahit that was.this song is unbelievable, such a beauty.overall a very good release, essential for hard rock fans.is there anyone who believes that love lasts forever?

From: rick kerch vzla Date: April 8, 2010 at 20:02
This album rocks!..yeah we have in here a very pleasent release...my faves tracks are "Love You 'Till It Hurts"(excellent),"Love Don't Last Forever"(killer ballad),"Murder In The First Degree","Magnet To Steel" and the AOR-ish one "Cry Myself To Sleep",the rest of the songs lead towards the very good territory,so that means that we have a must album!!!...probably the voice sounds too Ann Wilson(Heart),Teresa Straley(Harlow) and Doro Pesch at times but the songs are fantastic!.Buy and enjoy!..and by the way..look at the co-writers..pure class!.92/100
