Could never quite understand these guys. Great musicianship, one of the best vocalists in the genre fronting the band, great image but they could never quite get there in the songwriting department. This cd is worth it for the cover of "Piece Of My Heart" alone. Gives me goosebumps listening to it. These guys treaded the ground between "classic" rock & "hair" band music and I think they just got stuck in that gray area which is unfortunate because the musicians rocked!!!

Gotta agree with Tony about Piece of My Heart from the live album, as well as the comments about the musicianship and vocals! I would have to say that this one is for diehard RC fans only. The production (by the band) is not the greatest - perhaps because of the quality of the live tapes used to select the tracks here. Still, the album is a trip back in time for a fan like myself. Less interesting are the newer tracks, which just don't do much for me (Prowler is alright)...

This album is a letdown. Poor production on the live tracks and the new songs aren't that good.

According to the liner notes for this CD,Rough Cutt poured through 100s of live tapes and chose the best performances for this cd,and used them "as is" with no over-dubs of any kind. What this amounts to, is a live CD that REALLY sounds like a live CD.Basically, as is the case with many live discs, you have to be a big fan of the group in question to appreciate hearing them "in the raw".That being said, I really like this disc, and would recommend it to anyone who likes Cutt or Shortino in general!

From: Rycheage Date: January 28, 2004 at 19:33
The recordings come from a legacy of live gigs that the band left behind. It's heavy and it's screamy and it's very raw and totally live. The songs come off well and their is a little banter between songs. If you like Rough Cutt, you need this. Fans of Paul Shortino should also check this out.

Listening to it right now. Quite enjoyable live album from an underrated band.
