Superb Westcoast release.Highly recommended for the Toto/ Steely Dan fans out there. Goran Edman proves yet again that he is one of the top vocalists out there and is ably backed by a quite superb band. 'The Day The Music Died' has everything a fan of this type of stuff would want and the other nine tracks don't dissapoint. One of the top releases so far this year.

totally agree jez!.superb westcoast album where every single note is perfectly executed and the production is top class.this one will definetely be considered a classic in a very short period of time...what's more!!... i think it's gonna take some beating to knock this one out of the westcoast album of 2004 title.totally recommend this one!!.

Impeccable Westcoast release. There are some phenomenonal songs on tap here. Goran Edman proves beyond the shadow of a doubt his versatility as a vocalist. "The Day The Music Dies" is probably the jewel on an extraordinary CD. It is one of the better AOR songs, Westcoast or otherwise, that I have ever heard. "Did You Really" is a track that Toto fans will just eat up. So smooth and textured that it has to be one of the best releases of 2004.

Perfect westcoast release. The songs are great, the musicians are perfect, and Goran Edman is a master!!! Songs like "The Day The Music Died" (one of the best songs of the year), "Did You Really?" (reminds me the great TOTO), "Vanity Fair" (BEE GEES comes to mind), the beautiful "A Deeper Shade Of Love" (this song is amazing!!!), "You" (again, one of the best songs of the year). All I can say is that WHITE ON BLUE is perfect, a piece of heaven in music!!! Masterpiece!!!

I am not sure how I feel about the west coast genre, always a Toto type vibe that too me, Toto did much better, this is a great sounding album with good musicians and songs, but for me, does not knock me out, saying that, maybe this genre is not for me, although a great sounding album! I will keep listening

Picked this up recently and it's a stunning westcoast album, remarkably similar to TOTO in their prime (which was not very often, and some time ago now). It takes about 5 tracks to really get going IMO, but the gorgeous ballad "A Deeper Shade..." is followed by the albums best tracks in "Loving Eyes", "Time" and the brilliant closer "You" (the most AOR track on offer). Very nearly up there with the first HEARTPLAY album, this is top quality. Oh, and Goran Edman sounds okay too. 8.5/10.

Mmmm..

From: JF Date: June 1, 2006 at 20:40

Great west/coast music, not a classic, but if you like this kind of music( very soft and smooth ), you must to have it. Best songs, IMO, DON`T REALLY MATTER, LOVING EYES, THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED ( when NIRVANA born )and YOU.

A relaxing album...enjoyable somehow but not essential...the album has 3 good moments "Did You Really?","Thorns Of Life" and "You" and for the rest, as some comments above say, is a Westcoast with some hints of Toto,Think Out Loud and Ten Sharp to mention some bands..."The Day The Music Died" is Toto by the 4 sides!!!....80/100

So here we have a group of top Swedish musicians sitting around listening to some classic Toto, saying to themselves, "Hey, WE can do that!" And they do. With all the requisite Westcoast AOR soft rock elements marked off the checklist, they end up out-Toto-ing the LA studio masters themselves, and hell if it isn't a quite enjoyable result. Fantastic songwriting coupled with top-notch performances headed by the terrific vocals of Goran Edman. Horns, wicka-wacka jazzy guitars, percussion, R & B harmonies -- it all adds up to a great facsimile of the best smooth rock since Toto, Chicago and Steely Dan dominated the adult radio airwaves. Very nice stuff. 90 / 100
